1イスラエルがエジプトから、 ヤコブの家が異なる言葉を話す民の中から出て行ったとき、
1When Israel came forth out of Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of strange language;
2ユダは神の聖所となり、 イスラエルはその支配する国となった。
2Judah became His sanctuary, Israel His dominion.
3海はそれを見て逃げ去り、 ヨルダン川は退いた。
3The sea saw it, and fled; the Jordan turned backward.
4山々は雄羊のように、 丘は子羊のように跳ねた。
4The mountains skipped like rams, the hills like young sheep.
5海よ、どうして逃げ去るのか。 ヨルダン川よ、どうして退くのか。
5What aileth thee, O thou sea, that thou fleest? thou Jordan, that thou turnest backward?
6山々よ、どうして雄羊のように、 丘よ、どうして子羊のように跳ねるのか。
6Ye mountains, that ye skip like rams; ye hills, like young sheep?
7地よ、主の御前で震えよ。 ヤコブの神の御前で。
7Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob;
8神は岩を水の池に、 火打ち石を水の泉に変えられた。
8Who turned the rock into a pool of water, the flint into a fountain of waters.
