1神よ、あなたの慈しみに従って、私をあわれんでください。 あなたの豊かなあわれみに従って、私の背きを消し去ってください。
1(51-1) For the Leader. A Psalm of David; (51-2) When Nathan the prophet came unto him, after he had gone in to Bath-sheba. (51-3) Be gracious unto me, O God, according to Thy mercy; according to the multitude of Thy compassions blot out my transgressions.
2私の不義をすっかり洗い落とし、 私の罪から私を清めてください。
2(51-4) Wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.
3私は自分の背きを知っている。 私の罪は絶えず私の前にある。
3(51-5) For I know my transgressions; and my sin is ever before me.
4あなたに対して、あなただけに私は罪を犯し、 あなたの御目に悪であることを行った。 それは、あなたが語られるときに正しいと証明され、 あなたが裁きを行われるときに正しいと認められるためだ。
4(51-6) Against Thee, Thee only, have I sinned, and done that which is evil in Thy sight; that Thou mayest be justified when Thou speakest, and be in the right when Thou judgest.
5見よ、私は不義の中に生まれた。 私の母は罪の中に私を身ごもった。
5(51-7) Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin did my mother conceive me.
6見よ、あなたは心の奥に真実を望まれる。 あなたは私の内なる深い所で、私に知恵を教えられる。
6(51-8) Behold, Thou desirest truth in the inward parts; make me, therefore, to know wisdom in mine inmost heart.
7ヒソプで私を清めてください。そうすれば、私は清くなる。 私を洗ってください。そうすれば、私は雪よりも白くなる。
7(51-9) Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
8喜びと楽しみの声を私に聞かせてください。 あなたに打ち砕かれた骨が喜ぶように。
8(51-10) Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which Thou hast crushed may rejoice.
9私の罪から御顔を隠し、 私のすべての不義を消し去ってください。
9(51-11) Hide Thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.
10神よ、私の内に清い心を造り、 私の内に正しい霊を新しくしてください。
10(51-12) Create me a clean heart, O God; and renew a stedfast spirit within me.
11あなたの御前から私を投げ捨てないでください。 あなたの聖なる霊を私から取り去らないでください。
11(51-13) Cast me not away from Thy presence; and take not Thy holy spirit from me.
12あなたの救いの喜びを私に取り戻させ、 進んで従う霊によって私を支えてください。
12(51-14) Restore unto me the joy of Thy salvation; and let a willing spirit uphold me.
13そうすれば、私は背く者たちにあなたの道を教え、 罪人たちはあなたに立ち返るだろう。
13(51-15) Then will I teach transgressors Thy ways; and sinners shall return unto Thee.
14神よ、私の救いの神よ、血を流した罪から私を救い出してください。 私の舌はあなたの義を高らかに歌う。
14(51-16) Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, Thou God of my salvation; so shall my tongue sing aloud of Thy righteousness.
15主よ、私の唇を開いてください。 私の口はあなたへの賛美を告げ知らせる。
15(51-17) O Lord, open Thou my lips; and my mouth shall declare Thy praise.
16あなたはいけにえを喜ばれない。そうでなければ、私はそれをささげる。 あなたは全焼のささげ物を喜ばれない。
16(51-18) For Thou delightest not in sacrifice, else would I give it; Thou hast no pleasure in burnt-offering.
17神へのいけにえは、砕かれた霊である。 神よ、あなたは砕かれ、悔いる心をさげすまれない。
17(51-19) The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and a contrite heart, O God, Thou wilt not despise.
18あなたの御旨によって、シオンに良くしてください。 エルサレムの城壁を建ててください。
18(51-20) Do good in Thy favour unto Zion; build Thou the walls of Jerusalem.
19そのとき、あなたは義のいけにえ、 全焼のささげ物と、完全に焼かれるささげ物を喜ばれる。 そのとき、人々はあなたの祭壇に雄牛をささげるだろう。
19(51-21) Then wilt Thou delight in the sacrifices of righteousness, in burnt-offering and whole offering; then will they offer bullocks upon Thine altar.
