1ベエリの子ホセアに臨んだ主 の言葉。これは、ユダの王ウジヤ、ヨタム、アハズ、ヒゼキヤの時代、またイスラエルの王ヨアシュの子ヤロブアムの時代のことであった。
1THE WORD of the LORD that came unto Hosea the son of Beeri, in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash, king of Israel.
2主が初めてホセアを通して語られた時、主はホセアに言われた。「行って、淫行の女を妻に迎え、不貞の子らをもうけよ。この地は主を捨て、激しく姦淫を行っている。」
2When the LORD spoke at first with Hosea, the LORD said unto Hosea: 'Go, take unto thee a wife of harlotry and children of harlotry; for the land doth commit great harlotry, departing from the LORD.'
3そこで彼は行って、ディブライムの娘ゴメルを妻に迎えた。彼女は身ごもり、彼に男の子を産んだ。
3So he went and took Gomer the daughter of Diblaim; and she conceived, and bore him a son.
4主は彼に言われた。「その子をイズレエルと名づけよ。もうしばらくすれば、私はイズレエルの流血の責任をエフーの家に問い、イスラエルの家の王国を終わらせる。
4And the LORD said unto him: 'Call his name Jezreel; for yet a little while, and I will visit the blood of Jezreel upon the house of Jehu, and will cause to cease the kingdom of the house of Israel.
5その日、私はイズレエルの谷でイスラエルの弓を折る。」
5And it shall come to pass at that day, that I will break the bow of Israel in the valley of Jezreel.'
6彼女は再び身ごもり、女の子を産んだ。 それから主は彼に言われた。「その子をロ・ルハマと名づけよ。 私はもはやイスラエルの家をあわれまず、彼らを決して赦さない。
6And she conceived again, and bore a daughter. And He said unto him: 'Call her name Lo-ruhamah; for I will no more have compassion upon the house of Israel, that I should in any wise pardon them.
7しかし、ユダの家をあわれみ、彼らの神 である主によって救う。弓、剣、戦い、馬、騎兵によって救うのではない。」
7But I will have compassion upon the house of Judah, and will save them by the LORD their God, and will not save them by bow, nor by sword, nor by battle, nor by horses, nor by horsemen.'
8彼女はロ・ルハマを乳離れさせると、身ごもって男の子を産んだ。
8Now when she had weaned Lo-ruhamah, she conceived, and bore a son.
9主は言われた。「その子をロ・アンミと名づけよ。 あなたがたは私の民ではなく、私はあなたがたの神ではない。
9And He said: 'Call his name Lo-ammi; for ye are not My people, and I will not be yours.'
10しかし、イスラエルの子らの数は海の砂のようになり、量ることも数えることもできなくなる。かつて彼らに『あなたがたは私の民ではない』と言われたその場所で、彼らは『生ける神の子ら』と呼ばれるようになる。
10(2-1) Yet the number of the children of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured nor numbered; and it shall come to pass that, instead of that which was said unto them: 'Ye are not My people', it shall be said unto them: 'Ye are the children of the living God.'
11ユダの子らとイスラエルの子らはともに集まり、自分たちの上に一人のかしらを立て、その地から上って行く。イズレエルの日は、まことに大いなる。
11(2-2) And the children of Judah and the children of Israel shall be gathered together, and they shall appoint themselves one head, and shall go up out of the land; for great shall be the day of Jezreel.
