1祭司たちよ、これを聞け。 イスラエルの家よ、耳を傾けよ。 王の家よ、よく聞け。 裁きがあなたがたに臨む。 あなたがたはミツパでわなとなり、 タボルの上に張られた網となったからだ。
1Hear this, O ye priests, and attend, ye house of Israel, and give ear, O house of the king, for unto you pertaineth the judgment; for ye have been a snare on Mizpah, and a net spread upon Tabor.
2反逆者たちは人殺しに深く染まっている。 しかし、私は彼らを皆懲らしめる。
2And they that fall away are gone deep in making slaughter; and I am rejected of them all.
3私はエフライムを知っている。 イスラエルは私から隠されていない。 エフライムよ、今あなたは淫行を行った。 イスラエルは汚れている。
3I, even I, know Ephraim, and Israel is not hid from Me; for now, O Ephraim, thou hast committed harlotry, Israel is defiled.
4彼らの行いは、 彼らが自分たちの神に立ち返ることを許さない。 淫行の霊が彼らの内にあり、 彼らは主を知らない。
4Their doings will not suffer them to return unto their God; for the spirit of harlotry is within them, and they know not the LORD.
5イスラエルの高慢が、 イスラエル自身を告発する。 それゆえ、イスラエルとエフライムは自分たちの不義につまずき、 ユダも彼らとともにつまずく。
5But the pride of Israel shall testify to his face; and Israel and Ephraim shall stumble in their iniquity, Judah also shall stumble with them.
6彼らは羊の群れと牛の群れを連れて、 主を求めに行くが、主を見つけることはできない。 主が彼らから身を引かれたからだ。
6With their flocks and with their herds they shall go to seek the LORD, but they shall not find Him; He hath withdrawn Himself from them.
7彼らは主に不実を働いた。 不貞の子どもたちを産んだからだ。 今や新月祭が、彼らとその畑を食い尽くす。
7They have dealt treacherously against the LORD, for they have begotten strange children; now shall the new moon devour them with their portions.
8ギブアで角笛を吹き、 ラマでラッパを鳴らせ。 ベテ・アベンでときの声を上げよ。 ベニヤミンよ、敵は背後にいる！
8Blow ye the horn in Gibeah, and the trumpet in Ramah; sound an alarm at Beth-aven: 'Behind thee, O Benjamin!'
9エフライムは懲らしめの日に荒れ果てる。 私はイスラエルの部族の間に、 確実に起こることを知らせた。
9Ephraim shall be desolate in the day of rebuke; among the tribes of Israel do I make known that which shall surely be.
10ユダの君主たちは、 境界石を移す者のようだ。 私は水のように彼らの上に憤りを注ぐ。
10The princes of Judah are like them that remove the landmark; I will pour out My wrath upon them like water.
11エフライムは虐げられ、 裁きによって打ち砕かれている。 彼が偶像を追うことに心を定めたからだ。
11Oppressed is Ephraim, crushed in his right; because he willingly walked after filth.
12それゆえ、私はエフライムにとって蛾のようになり、 ユダの家にとって腐れのようになる。
12Therefore am I unto Ephraim as a moth, and to the house of Judah as rottenness.
13エフライムは自分の病を見、 ユダは自分の傷を見た。 そこでエフライムはアッシリアへ行き、 ヤレブ王に使いを送った。 しかし彼はあなたがたを癒すことができず、 あなたがたの傷を治すこともできない。
13And when Ephraim saw his sickness, and Judah his wound, Ephraim went to Assyria, and sent to King Contentious; but he is not able to heal you, neither shall he cure you of your wound.
14私はエフライムに対して獅子のようになり、 ユダの家に対して若い獅子のようになる。 この私が引き裂いて立ち去る。 私が連れ去れば、救い出す者はいない。
14For I will be unto Ephraim as a lion, and as a young lion to the house of Judah; I, even I, will tear and go away, I will take away, and there shall be none to deliver.
15私は自分の場所へ帰って行く。 彼らが自分たちの罪を認め、 私の顔を求めるまで。 彼らは苦しみの中で、切に私を求める。」
15I will go and return to My place, till they acknowledge their guilt, and seek My face; in their trouble they will seek Me earnestly:
