1「角笛を唇に当てよ。 鷲のようなものが主の家に迫る。 彼らが私の契約を破り、 私の律法に背いたからだ。
1Set the horn to thy mouth. As a vulture he cometh against the house of the LORD; because they have transgressed My covenant, and trespassed against My law.
2彼らは私に叫ぶ。 『私の神よ、私たちイスラエルはあなたを知っています。』
2Will they cry unto Me: 'My God, we Israel know Thee'?
3イスラエルは良いものを退けた。 敵が彼を追う。
3Israel hath cast off that which is good; the enemy shall pursue him.
4彼らは王を立てたが、私によるのではない。 君主を立てたが、私は認めなかった。 彼らは自分たちの銀と金で偶像を造った。 そのため彼らは滅びに至る。
4They have set up kings, but not from Me, they have made princes, and I knew it not; of their silver and their gold have they made them idols, that they may be cut off.
5サマリアよ、あなたの子牛の偶像を投げ捨てよ。 私の怒りは彼らに向かって燃えている。 彼らはいつになれば清くなれるのか。
5Thy calf, O Samaria, is cast off; Mine anger is kindled against them; how long will it be ere they attain to innocency?
6この子牛もイスラエルから出たものだ。 職人が造ったもので、神ではない。 サマリアの子牛は粉々に砕かれる。
6For from Israel is even this: the craftsman made it, and it is no God; yea, the calf of Samaria shall be broken in shivers.
7彼らは風をまき、 つむじ風を刈り取る。 立っている穀物はなく、 茎には穂が出ない。 たとえ実っても、よその者たちがそれをのみ込む。
7For they sow the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind; it hath no stalk, the bud that shall yield no meal; if so be it yield, strangers shall swallow it up.
8イスラエルはのみ込まれた。 今や彼らは諸国民の中で、 役に立たない器のようになっている。
8Israel is swallowed up; now are they become among the nations as a vessel wherein is no value.
9彼らはアッシリアへ上って行った。 独りさまよう野ろばのように。 エフライムは金を払って愛人たちを雇った。
9For they are gone up to Assyria, like a wild ass alone by himself; Ephraim hath hired lovers.
10彼らが諸国民の中で自分を売ったとしても、 今、私は彼らを集める。 彼らは強大な王の圧迫のために、 衰え始める。
10Yea, though they hire among the nations, now will I gather them up; and they begin to be minished by reason of the burden of king and princes.
11エフライムは罪のために祭壇を増やした。 その祭壇が、かえって罪を増すものとなった。
11For Ephraim hath multiplied altars to sin, yea, altars have been unto him to sin.
12私は彼のために律法の多くのことを書き記したが、 それらは、よそ事とみなされた。
12Though I write for him never so many things of My Law, they are accounted as a stranger's.
13彼らは私へのささげ物として肉をささげ、 それを食べる。 しかし主は彼らを受け入れない。 今、主は彼らの不義を覚え、 彼らの罪を罰する。 彼らはエジプトへ帰る。
13As for the sacrifices that are made by fire unto Me, let them sacrifice flesh and eat it, for the LORD accepteth them not. Now will He remember their iniquity, and punish their sins; they shall return to Egypt.
14イスラエルは自分の造り主を忘れて宮殿を建て、 ユダは要塞の町々を増やした。 しかし私は彼らの町々に火を送り、 その要塞を焼き尽くす。」
14For Israel hath forgotten his Maker, and builded palaces, and Judah hath multiplied fortified cities; but I will send a fire upon his cities, and it shall devour the castles thereof.
