1彼らは私の若いころから、幾度も私を苦しめた。 今、イスラエルは言え。
1A Song of Ascents. 'Much have they afflicted me from my youth up', let Israel now say;
2彼らは私の若いころから、幾度も私を苦しめた。 それでも、私に勝つことはできなかった。
2'Much have they afflicted me from my youth up; but they have not prevailed against me.
3耕す者たちは私の背中を耕し、 長い畝を作った。
3The plowers plowed upon my back; they made long their furrows.
4主は義なる方。 悪者たちの綱を断ち切られた。
4The LORD is righteous; He hath cut asunder the cords of the wicked.'
5シオンを憎む者たちは皆、 恥を受け、退けられるように。
5Let them be ashamed and turned backward, all they that hate Zion.
6彼らは、育つ前に枯れる、 屋根の上の草のようになれ。
6Let them be as the grass upon the housetops, which withereth afore it springeth up;
7刈る者が手を満たすこともなく、 束を結ぶ者が胸に抱えることもない草のように。
7Wherewith the reaper filleth not his hand, nor he that bindeth sheaves his bosom.
8通りかかる者たちも、こうは言わない。 「主の祝福があなたがたの上にあるように。 私たちは主の御名によって、あなたがたを祝福する。」
8Neither do they that go by say: 'The blessing of the LORD be upon you; we bless you in the name of the LORD.'
