1اگر خداوند با ما نمی بود، اسرائیل الان بگوید؛
1A Song of Ascents; of David. 'If it had not been the LORD who was for us', let Israel now say;
2اگر خداوند با مانمی بود، وقتی که آدمیان با ما مقاومت نمودند،
2'If it had not been the LORD who was for us, when men rose up against us,
3آنگاه هر آینه ما را زنده فرو می‌بردند، چون خشم ایشان بر ما افروخته بود.
3Then they had swallowed us up alive, when their wrath was kindled against us;
4آنگاه آبها ما راغرق می‌کرد و نهرها بر جان ما می‌گذشت.
4Then the waters had overwhelmed us, the stream had gone over our soul;
5آنگاه آبهای پر زور، از جان ما می‌گذشت.
5Then the proud waters had gone over our soul.'
6متبارک باد خداوند که ما را شکار برای دندانهای ایشان نساخت.
6Blessed be the LORD, who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth.
7جان ما مثل مرغ از دام صیادان خلاص شد. دام گسسته شد و ما خلاصی یافتیم.
7Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers; the snare is broken, and we are escaped.
8اعانت ما به نام یهوه است، که آسمان وزمین را آفرید.
8Our help is in the name of the LORD, who made heaven and earth.
