1ถ้าพระยาห์เวห์ไม่ได้ทรงอยู่ฝ่ายเรา ให้อิสราเอลกล่าวเถิดว่า
1A Song of Ascents; of David. 'If it had not been the LORD who was for us', let Israel now say;
2ถ้าพระยาห์เวห์ไม่ได้ทรงอยู่ฝ่ายเรา เมื่อผู้คนลุกขึ้นต่อสู้เรา
2'If it had not been the LORD who was for us, when men rose up against us,
3พวกเขาคงกลืนเราเป็น ๆ เมื่อความโกรธของพวกเขาลุกโชนต่อเรา
3Then they had swallowed us up alive, when their wrath was kindled against us;
4น้ำคงท่วมมิดเรา กระแสน้ำคงซัดท่วมเรา
4Then the waters had overwhelmed us, the stream had gone over our soul;
5สายน้ำอันหยิ่งผยองคงท่วมมิดเรา
5Then the proud waters had gone over our soul.'
6ขอให้พระยาห์เวห์เป็นที่ยกย่อง ผู้ไม่ทรงปล่อยให้เราเป็นเหยื่อแก่คมเขี้ยวของพวกเขา
6Blessed be the LORD, who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth.
7เราหนีรอดเหมือนนกที่หลุดจากบ่วงของคนดักนก บ่วงขาดแล้ว และเราหนีรอดมาได้
7Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers; the snare is broken, and we are escaped.
8ความช่วยเหลือของเราอยู่ในพระนามของพระยาห์เวห์ ผู้ทรงสร้างฟ้าสวรรค์และแผ่นดินโลก
8Our help is in the name of the LORD, who made heaven and earth.
