1ในปีแรกที่ไซรัส กษัตริย์แห่งเปอร์เซียครองราชย์ พระยาห์เวห์ ปลุกใจไซรัสให้ประกาศไปทั่วอาณาจักร ทั้งยังออกประกาศเป็นลายลักษณ์อักษร เพื่อให้คำของพระยาห์เวห์ที่กล่าวผ่านเยเรมีย์เป็นจริง ประกาศมีข้อความว่า
1NOW IN the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah might be accomplished, the LORD stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and put it also in writing, saying:
2“ไซรัส กษัตริย์แห่งเปอร์เซียประกาศดังนี้ ‘พระยาห์เวห์ พระเจ้า แห่งสวรรค์ ได้มอบอาณาจักรทั้งสิ้นบนโลกให้แก่เรา และสั่งให้เราสร้างพระวิหารถวายพระองค์ที่กรุงเยรูซาเล็มในยูดาห์
2'Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia: All the kingdoms of the earth hath the LORD, the God of heaven, given me; and He hath charged me to build Him a house in Jerusalem, which is in Judah.
3ใครในหมู่พวกท่านที่เป็นประชาชนของพระองค์ ขอให้พระเจ้าของเขาอยู่กับเขา ให้เขาไปยังกรุงเยรูซาเล็มในยูดาห์ แล้วสร้างพระวิหารของพระยาห์เวห์ พระเจ้าแห่งอิสราเอล ที่กรุงเยรูซาเล็ม (พระองค์คือพระเจ้า)
3Whosoever there is among you of all His people — his God be with him — let him go up to Jerusalem, which is in Judah, and build the house of the LORD, the God of Israel, He is the God who is in Jerusalem.
4ใครก็ตามที่ยังเหลืออยู่ ไม่ว่าจะอาศัยอยู่ที่ใด ให้คนในที่นั้นช่วยเขาด้วยเงิน ทอง สิ่งของ และสัตว์ นอกเหนือจากสิ่งที่ถวายด้วยความสมัครใจเพื่อพระวิหารของพระเจ้าที่กรุงเยรูซาเล็ม’”
4And whosoever is left, in any place where he sojourneth, let the men of his place help him with silver, and with gold, and with goods, and with beasts, beside the freewill-offering for the house of God which is in Jerusalem.'
5หัวหน้าตระกูลของยูดาห์และเบนยามิน รวมทั้งปุโรหิตและชาวเลวี ทุกคนที่พระเจ้าปลุกใจให้เดินทาง จึงเตรียมตัวไปสร้างพระวิหารของพระยาห์เวห์ที่กรุงเยรูซาเล็ม
5Then rose up the heads of fathers' houses of Judah and Benjamin, and the priests, and the Levites, even all whose spirit God had stirred to go up to build the house of the LORD which is in Jerusalem.
6คนรอบข้างทุกคนช่วยสนับสนุนพวกเขาด้วยภาชนะเงิน ทอง สิ่งของ สัตว์ และของมีค่า นอกเหนือจากสิ่งที่ถวายด้วยความสมัครใจทั้งหมด
6And all they that were round about them strengthened their hands with vessels of silver, with gold, with goods, and with beasts, and with precious things, beside all that was willingly offered.
7กษัตริย์ไซรัสยังนำภาชนะจากพระวิหารของพระยาห์เวห์ออกมา ภาชนะเหล่านี้เนบูคัดเนสซาร์เคยนำไปจากกรุงเยรูซาเล็ม แล้วเก็บไว้ในวิหารของเทพเจ้าของตน
7Also Cyrus the king brought forth the vessels of the house of the LORD, which Nebuchadnezzar had brought forth out of Jerusalem, and had put them in the house of his gods;
8ไซรัส กษัตริย์แห่งเปอร์เซียมอบหมายให้มิทเรดาท ผู้ดูแลคลัง นำภาชนะเหล่านี้ออกมา นับจำนวนแล้วส่งมอบให้เชชบัสซาร์ ผู้นำแห่งยูดาห์
8even those did Cyrus king of Persia bring forth by the hand of Mithredath the treasurer, and numbered them unto Sheshbazzar, the prince of Judah.
9ภาชนะมีจำนวนดังนี้ ถาดทอง 30 ใบ ถาดเงิน 1,000 ใบ มีด 29 เล่ม
9And this is the number of them: thirty basins of gold, a thousand basins of silver, nine and twenty knives;
10ชามทอง 30 ใบ ชามเงินอีกชนิดหนึ่ง 410 ใบ และภาชนะอื่น ๆ 1,000 ชิ้น
10thirty bowls of gold, silver bowls of a second sort four hundred and ten, and other vessels a thousand.
11ภาชนะทองและเงินทั้งหมดมี 5,400 ชิ้น เชชบัสซาร์นำทั้งหมดนี้ไปพร้อมกับเชลยที่เดินทางจากบาบิโลนกลับกรุงเยรูซาเล็ม
11All the vessels of gold and of silver were five thousand and four hundred. All these did Sheshbazzar bring up, when they of the captivity were brought up from Babylon unto Jerusalem.
