1พระยาห์เวห์ โปรดระลึกถึงดาวิดและความทุกข์ยากทั้งสิ้นของเขา
1A Song of Ascents. LORD, remember unto David all his affliction;
2เขาสาบานต่อพระยาห์เวห์ และปฏิญาณต่อองค์ผู้ทรงฤทธิ์ของยาโคบว่า
2How he swore unto the LORD, and vowed unto the Mighty One of Jacob:
3“ฉันจะไม่เข้าไปในบ้านของฉัน จะไม่ขึ้นไปนอนบนเตียง
3'Surely I will not come into the tent of my house, nor go up into the bed that is spread for me;
4จะไม่ยอมให้ตาหลับ หรือให้เปลือกตาเคลิ้มลง
4I will not give sleep to mine eyes, nor slumber to mine eyelids;
5จนกว่าจะหาสถานที่สำหรับพระยาห์เวห์ได้ เป็นที่ประทับขององค์ผู้ทรงฤทธิ์ของยาโคบ”
5Until I find out a place for the LORD, a dwelling-place for the Mighty One of Jacob.'
6เราได้ยินเรื่องนี้ที่เอฟราธาห์ และพบสิ่งนั้นในทุ่งยาอาร์
6Lo, we heard of it as being in Ephrath; we found it in the field of the wood.
7“เราจะเข้าไปยังที่ประทับของพระองค์ จะกราบลงที่วางเท้าของพระองค์”
7Let us go into His dwelling-place; let us worship at His footstool.
8พระยาห์เวห์ โปรดลุกขึ้นไปยังที่พักของพระองค์ ทั้งพระองค์และหีบแห่งฤทธานุภาพของพระองค์
8Arise, O LORD, unto Thy resting-place; Thou, and the ark of Thy strength.
9ขอให้บรรดาปุโรหิตของพระองค์สวมความชอบธรรม และให้ผู้ภักดีของพระองค์โห่ร้องด้วยความยินดี!
9Let Thy priests be clothed with righteousness; and let Thy saints shout for joy.
10เพราะเห็นแก่ดาวิดผู้รับใช้ของพระองค์ โปรดอย่าหันหน้าหนีผู้ที่พระองค์ทรงเจิมไว้
10For Thy servant David's sake turn not away the face of Thine anointed.
11พระยาห์เวห์ทรงปฏิญาณต่อดาวิดด้วยความสัตย์จริง และจะไม่ทรงหันกลับจากคำปฏิญาณนั้นว่า “เราจะตั้งลูกหลานที่เกิดจากกายของเจ้าไว้บนบัลลังก์ของเจ้า
11The LORD swore unto David in truth; He will not turn back from it: 'Of the fruit of thy body will I set upon thy throne.
12หากลูกหลานของเจ้ารักษาพันธสัญญาของเรา และรักษาคำพยานที่เราจะสอนพวกเขา ลูกหลานของพวกเขาก็จะนั่งบนบัลลังก์ของเจ้าตลอดไปเช่นกัน”
12If thy children keep My covenant and My testimony that I shall teach them, their children also for ever shall sit upon thy throne.'
13เพราะพระยาห์เวห์ทรงเลือกศิโยน และปรารถนาให้เป็นที่ประทับของพระองค์
13For the LORD hath chosen Zion; He hath desired it for His habitation:
14“ที่นี่เป็นที่พักของเราตลอดไป เราจะอยู่ที่นี่ เพราะเราปรารถนาที่นี่
14'This is My resting-place for ever; here will I dwell; for I have desired it.
15เราจะอวยพรให้เสบียงของเมืองนี้อุดมสมบูรณ์ จะให้ขนมปังแก่คนยากไร้จนอิ่ม
15I will abundantly bless her provision; I will give her needy bread in plenty.
16เราจะสวมความรอดให้ปุโรหิตของเมืองนี้ และผู้ภักดีจะโห่ร้องด้วยความยินดี
16Her priests also will I clothe with salvation; and her saints shall shout aloud for joy.
17ที่นี่เราจะทำให้เขาของดาวิดแตกหน่อขึ้น และเตรียมตะเกียงไว้สำหรับผู้ที่เราเจิม
17There will I make a horn to shoot up unto David, there have I ordered a lamp for Mine anointed.
18เราจะสวมความอับอายให้ศัตรูของเขา แต่มงกุฎบนศีรษะของเขาจะส่องประกาย”
18His enemies will I clothe with shame; but upon himself shall his crown shine.'
