1Хвалїте Господа! Він бо благий, бо милість його по віки.
1BOOK V 'O give thanks unto the LORD, for He is good, for His mercy endureth for ever.'
2Да скажуть вибавлені від Господа, котрих він вислобонив з руки ворога,
2So let the redeemed of the LORD say, whom He hath redeemed from the hand of the adversary;
3І котрих до купи зібрав з країв, зі сходу і заходу, з півночі і від моря.
3And gathered them out of the lands, from the east and from the west, from the north and from the sea.
4Вони блукали в пустинї, по степових шляхах, не знайшли місця собі на оселю.
4They wandered in the wilderness in a desert way; they found no city of habitation.
5Терплючи голод і смагу, вони томились душею.
5Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them.
6Тодї взивали до Господа в тїснотї своїй, і він визволяв їх з біди їх.
6Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and He delivered them out of their distresses.
7І він проводив їх правою дорогою, щоб прийти до людяного міста.
7And He led them by a straight way, that they might go to a city of habitation.
8Да славлять Господа за милість його, і чудеса його над синами людськими!
8Let them give thanks unto the LORD for His mercy, and for His wonderful works to the children of men!
9Він бо наситив душу прагнущу, й голодуючу душу сповнив добром.
9For He hath satisfied the longing soul, and the hungry soul He hath filled with good.
10Седїли вони в тьмі і в тїнї смертї, сковані нуждою і желїзом,
10Such as sat in darkness and in the shadow of death, being bound in affliction and iron —
11Бувши впертими проти слова Божого і зневажаючи волю Всевишнього,
11Because they rebelled against the words of God, and contemned the counsel of the Most High.
12Тому смирив він серце їх бідою; вони падали, і не було помочі для них.
12Therefore He humbled their heart with travail, they stumbled, and there was none to help —
13Тодї Господа вони благали у своїй тїснотї, і він спасав їх з біди їх.
13They cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and He saved them out of their distresses.
14Вивів їх з темноти і з тїнї смертної, і розбив їх кайдани.
14He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and broke their bands in sunder.
15Нехай прославляють Господа за милість його і за чудеса його над синами людськими!
15Let them give thanks unto the LORD for His mercy, and for His wonderful works to the children of men!
16Він бо розломив брами мідянї, і сокрушив засуви желїзні.
16For He hath broken the gates of brass, and cut the bars of iron in sunder.
17Безумні — за свої переступні дороги і за свої несправедливостї караються.
17Crazed because of the way of their transgression, and afflicted because of their iniquities —
18Душа їх одвертається від їжи, і вони приближились до воріт смертних.
18Their soul abhorred all manner of food, and they drew near unto the gates of death —
19Тодї благають Господа в своїй тїснотї, і він визволяє їх з біди їх.
19They cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and He saved them out of their distresses;
20Посилає слово своє і вертає їм здоровлє, і спасає їх від домовини їх.
20He sent His word, and healed them, and delivered them from their graves.
21Нехай прославляють Господа за милість його і за чудеса його над синами людськими!
21Let them give thanks unto the LORD for His mercy, and for His wonderful works to the children of men!
22Нехай принесуть жертву хвали, і піснями прославлять дїла його!
22And let them offer the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare His works with singing.
23Ті, що в суднах пускаються на море, на водах великих мають торгове дїло,
23They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters —
24Вони бачать дїла Господнї і чудесні творива його в глибинї;
24These saw the works of the LORD, and His wonders in the deep;
25Рече він, і буйний вітер знявся, що високо підносить филї.
25For He commanded, and raised the stormy wind, which lifted up the waves thereof;
26Кидає ними під небо, провалює їх в безодню, в бідї душа їх млїє.
26They mounted up to the heaven, they went down to the deeps; their soul melted away because of trouble;
27Мотаються, хиляються, як чоловік пяний, поникла вся мудрість їх.
27They reeled to and fro, and staggered like a drunken man, and all their wisdom was swallowed up —
28Тодї до Господа вони у своїй тїснотї взивають, і він виводить їх з біди їх.
28They cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and He brought them out of their distresses.
29Він переміняє хуртовину на тишину, і филї втихомирились.
29He made the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof were still.
30І вони радїють, що стає тихо, і до бажаної пристанї він їх приводить.
30Then were they glad because they were quiet, and He led them unto their desired haven.
31Нехай прославляють Господа за милість його і за чудеса його для синів людських,
31Let them give thanks unto the LORD for His mercy, and for His wonderful works to the children of men!
32І возносять його в зборі людей, і в радї старших хвалять його!
32Let them exalt Him also in the assembly of the people, and praise Him in the seat of the elders.
33Він обертає ріки в пустиню, і жерела водні в суходіл,
33He turneth rivers into a wilderness, and watersprings into a thirsty ground;
34Плодовиту землю — в соляний степ, за злобу живущих там.
34A fruitful land into a salt waste, for the wickedness of them that dwell therein.
35Він обертає й пустиню в озера водисті, і суходіл в жерела водні;
35He turneth a wilderness into a pool of water, and a dry land into watersprings.
36І поселяє там голодних, і закладають оселю.
36And there He maketh the hungry to dwell, and they establish a city of habitation;
37Засївають поля, насаджують виноградники, котрі видають овочі і плоди.
37And sow fields, and plant vineyards, which yield fruits of increase.
38Він благословить їх, і вони вельми розмножуються; і скота дає їм не мало.
38He blesseth them also, so that they are multiplied greatly, and suffereth not their cattle to decrease.
39Часами стає їх меньше, і вони хиляються від неволї, горя і нещастя.
39Again, they are minished and dwindle away through oppression of evil and sorrow.
40Він кидає сором на князїв, і велить їм блукати в безлюддї і в безвіддї;
40He poureth contempt upon princes, and causeth them to wander in the waste, where there is no way.
41Бідного він з нужди видвигає, і роди його, як стадо, розмножує.
41Yet setteth He the needy on high from affliction, and maketh his families like a flock.
42Щирі серцем побачать се і звеселяться, і всяка несправедливість зацїпить уста свої.
42The upright see it, and are glad; and all iniquity stoppeth her mouth.
43Хто мудрий, той замітить ті речі, і нехай зрозуміють милостї Господнї.
43Whoso is wise, let him observe these things, and let them consider the mercies of the LORD.
