1Jahweh is Koning! Laat de aarde jubelen, De ontelbare eilanden juichen!
1A psalm for David himself. Sing ye to the Lord anew canticle: because he hath done wonderful things. His right hand hath wrought for him salvation, and his arm is holy.
2Donkere wolken pakken zich om Hem heen, Recht en gerechtigheid schragen zijn troon.
2The Lord hath made known his salvation: he hath revealed his justice in the sight of the Gentiles.
3Vuur gaat voor zijn aangezicht uit, En het vlamt om zijn schreden;
3He hath remembered his mercy his truth toward the house of Israel. All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.
4Zijn bliksems verlichten de wereld, De aarde ziet het, en beeft!
4Sing joyfully to God, all the earth; make melody, rejoice and sing.
5De bergen smelten als was voor het aanschijn van Jahweh, Voor den Heer van de volheid der aarde;
5Sing praise to the Lord on the harp, on the harp, and with the voice of a psalm:
6De hemelen kondigen zijn gerechtigheid aan, Alle volken aanschouwen zijn glorie.
6With long trumpets, and sound of comet. Make a joyful noise before the Lord our king:
7Alle beeldenaanbidders worden te schande, Die zich op hun goden beroemen; En diep in het stof werpen alle afgoden Zich voor Hem neer.
7Let the sea be moved and the fulness thereof: the world and they that dwell therein.
8Sion hoort het vol vreugde, Juda’s dochteren juichen, Jahweh, om uw gericht;
8The rivers shall clap their hands, the mountains shall rejoice together
9Want Gij zijt de Allerhoogste op heel de aarde, o Jahweh, Hoog boven alle goden verheven!
9At the presence of the Lord: because he cometh to judge the earth. He shall judge the world with justice, and the people with equity.
10Jahweh heeft lief Die de ongerechtigheid haat; Hij behoedt het leven van zijn getrouwen, En redt ze uit de handen der bozen.

11Een licht straalt over de rechtvaardigen uit, En blijdschap over de oprechten van hart;
