Psalmen 120
Petrus Canisius Bible, 1939 (De Heilige Schrift)
Douay-Rheims Bible, American Edition (1899)
1Een bedevaartslied. Tot Jahweh riep ik in mijn nood, En Hij heeft mij verhoord.
1I have lifted up my eyes to the mountains, from whence help shall come to me.
2Verlos mij, Jahweh, van leugenlippen En lastertongen!
2My help is from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.
3Wat kan een lastertong u al brengen, En wat er nog bij doen:
3May he not suffer thy foot to be moved: neither let him slumber that keepeth thee.
4Scherpgepunte oorlogspijlen, Met gloeiende houtskool!
4Behold he shall neither slumber nor sleep, that keepeth Israel.
5Wee mij, dat ik moet toeven In de tenten van Mésjek, En dat ik moet wonen In de tenten van Kedar!
5The Lord is thy keeper, the Lord is thy protection upon thy right hand.
6Reeds te lang leef ik samen Met vredeverstoorders;
6The sun shall not burn thee by day: nor the moon by night.
7Als ìk over vrede wil spreken, Zoeken zij strijd!
7The Lord keepeth thee from all evil: may the Lord keep thy soul.
