Psalms 97
King James Version with ApocryphaTranslation
King James Version with Apocrypha
Douay-Rheims Bible, American Edition (1899)
1The LORD reigneth; let the earth rejoice; let the multitude of isles be glad thereof .
1A psalm for David himself. Sing ye to the Lord anew canticle: because he hath done wonderful things. His right hand hath wrought for him salvation, and his arm is holy.
2Clouds and darkness are round about him: righteousness and judgment are the habitation of his throne.
2The Lord hath made known his salvation: he hath revealed his justice in the sight of the Gentiles.
3A fire goeth before him, and burneth up his enemies round about.
3He hath remembered his mercy his truth toward the house of Israel. All the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.
4His lightnings enlightened the world: the earth saw, and trembled.
4Sing joyfully to God, all the earth; make melody, rejoice and sing.
5The hills melted like wax at the presence of the LORD , at the presence of the Lord of the whole earth.
5Sing praise to the Lord on the harp, on the harp, and with the voice of a psalm:
6The heavens declare his righteousness, and all the people see his glory.
6With long trumpets, and sound of comet. Make a joyful noise before the Lord our king:
7Confounded be all they that serve graven images, that boast themselves of idols: worship him, all ye gods.
7Let the sea be moved and the fulness thereof: the world and they that dwell therein.
8Zion heard, and was glad; and the daughters of Judah rejoiced because of thy judgments, O LORD .
8The rivers shall clap their hands, the mountains shall rejoice together
9For thou, LORD , art high above all the earth: thou art exalted far above all gods.
9At the presence of the Lord: because he cometh to judge the earth. He shall judge the world with justice, and the people with equity.
10Ye that love the LORD , hate evil: he preserveth the souls of his saints; he delivereth them out of the hand of the wicked.
