King James Version with Apocrypha
Douay-Rheims Bible, American Edition (1899)
1Unto thee, O LORD , do I lift up my soul.
1Unto the end, a psalm for David. Judge me, O Lord, for I have walked in my innocence: and I have put my trust in the Lord, and shall not be weakened.
2O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me.
2Prove me, O Lord, and try me; burn my reins and my heart.
3Yea, let none that wait on thee be ashamed: let them be ashamed which transgress without cause.
3For thy mercy is before my eyes; and I am well pleased with thy truth.
4Shew me thy ways, O LORD ; teach me thy paths.
4I have not sat with the council of vanity: neither will I go in with the doers of unjust things.
5Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.
5I have hated the assembly of the malignant; and with the wicked I will not sit.
6Remember, O LORD , thy tender mercies and thy lovingkindnesses; for they have been ever of old.
6I will wash my hands among the innocent; and will compass thy altar, O Lord:
7Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy remember thou me for thy goodness’ sake, O LORD .
7That I may hear the voice of thy praise: and tell of all thy wondrous works.
8Good and upright is the LORD : therefore will he teach sinners in the way.
8I have loved, O Lord, the beauty of thy house; and the place where thy glory dwelleth.
9The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way.
9Take not away my soul, O God, with the wicked: nor my life with bloody men:
10All the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.
10In whose hands are iniquities: their right hand is filled with gifts.
11For thy name’s sake, O LORD , pardon mine iniquity; for it is great.
11But as for me, I have walked in my innocence: redeem me, and have mercy on me.
12What man is he that feareth the LORD ? him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose.
12My foot hath stood in the direct way: in the churches I will bless thee, O Lord.
13His soul shall dwell at ease; and his seed shall inherit the earth.
