Kadede Kap (Pohnpeian New Testament and Psalms)
JPS Tanakh (Jewish Publication Society, 1917)
1MELEL, Kot kompoke pan men Ijrael, irail me makelekel nan monion arail.
1BOOK III A Psalm of Asaph. Surely God is good to Israel, even to such as are pure in heart.
2A n ai, ekij ta, a na i kat pan lodi, o I koren io n krijedi ni ai kakakawei.
2But as for me, my feet were almost gone; my steps had well nigh slipped.
3Pwe I juedeki me aklapalap akan, ni ai kila n er en me japu n akn ar pwaidar.
3For I was envious at the arrogant, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.
4Pwe jota apwal kot lel o n irail ni ar pan mela, re kin kelail o war arail wilar melel.
4For there are no pangs at their death, and their body is sound.
5Jota ar apwal kot dueta aramaj tei kan, o re jota pan kalokolok dueta aramaj tei kan.
5In the trouble of man they are not; neither are they plagued like men.
6Ari aklapalap, iei kapwat en tapin wor arail, o arail likau, iei arail tiak weit.
6Therefore pride is as a chain about their neck; violence covereth them as a garment.
7Por en maj arail tikitik o jued kilar ar wilar, o re kin wiada, me re ino n io n .
7Their eyes stand forth from fatness; they are gone beyond the imaginations of their heart.
8Re kin mamaleki meakaroj, o re kin lokelokaia me jued, o re kin lalaue o lokaia ni ar aklapalap.
8They scoff, and in wickedness utter oppression; they speak as if there were none on high.
9Dene arail lokaia tapi ja n nanla n , o me irail indinda, dene I eta me pu n ni jappa.
9They have set their mouth against the heavens, and their tongue walketh through the earth.
10I me aramaj akan lokididi o n irail; o pil totoia re kin nimala.
10Therefore His people return hither; and waters of fullness are drained out by them.
11Re kin inda: Iaduen, Kot pan kotin injenoki irail? O menda ren me aklapalap irail?
11And they say: 'How doth God know? And is there knowledge in the Most High?'
12Kila n , iduen me doo ja n Kot akan; irail meid pai nin jappa, o re pan kapwapwala.
12Behold, such are the wicked; and they that are always at ease increase riches.
13Iaduen, likamata jota katopa ai kamakelekeladar mo n io n i o kaminela pa i kat ni me pu n ?
13Surely in vain have I cleansed my heart, and washed my hands in innocency;
14Pwe ran karoj i pan kalokolok, o ni manjan karoj ai kamekam mia.
14For all the day have I been plagued, and my chastisement came every morning.
15Koren io n i pil pan indinda dueta irail, a jo, pwe i de pan juedeki japwilim omui jeri kan karoj ja n maj kokodo lel met.
15If I had said: 'I will speak thus', behold, I had been faithless to the generation of Thy children.
16I ap madamadaua duen mepukat, pwen dedeki, a i jota kak o n .
16And when I pondered how I might know this, it was wearisome in mine eyes;
17N ai lao pedelo n o n mon mol en Kot jaraui o kila n er imwin mo doo ja n Kot akan.
17Until I entered into the sanctuary of God, and considered their end.
18Melel kom kotin pwili kin irail edi waja likakerij; kom kotin kapup irail edi o n nani pwel.
18Surely Thou settest them in slippery places; Thou hurlest them down to utter ruin.
19Iaduen arail mada n joredier. Irail lokidokila, o imwila ’rail meid kamajapwek.
19How are they become a desolation in a moment! They are wholly consumed by terrors.
20Mai n Ieowa, kom kin kotin kawela mom arail nan kanim o dueta auramen.
20As a dream when one awaketh, so, O Lord, when Thou arousest Thyself, Thou wilt despise their semblance.
21Ni ai madak nan mo n io n i, o waiwairok nan ai mudilik kan,
21For my heart was in a ferment, and I was pricked in my reins.
22I ap diaradar, me n ai ol pweipwei men, me jota aja meakot; dueta man amen mo omui.
22But I was brutish, and ignorant; I was as a beast before Thee.
23Ari jo, i pan mimieta re omui kokolata, pwe komui kotin kolekol eta pa i pali maun.
23Nevertheless I am continually with Thee; Thou holdest my right hand.
24Komui kin kalua ia duen kupur omui, o kom pan kotin kajamo ia nan li n an omui.
24Thou wilt guide me with Thy counsel, and afterward receive me with glory.
25Ma komui ta ai Kot, i jota pan anane meakot nanla n de jappa.
25Whom have I in heaven but Thee? And beside Thee I desire none upon earth.
26Ma pali war ai o n en i pan dupokala, pil menda, pwe komui Mai n Kot kamait pa i o pwaij ai kokolata.
26My flesh and my heart faileth; but God is the rock of my heart and my portion for ever.
27Pwe kom kotin ma n i irail, me muei ja n komui pan lokidokila; Kom pan kotin kajapokela karoj, me wuki wei ja n komui.
27For, lo, they that go far from Thee shall perish; Thou dost destroy all them that go astray from Thee.
28A iet ai peren, i en te n ete n o n Kot, o i en kaporoporeki Kot leowa, pwen kalok jili omui wia wia kan karoj.
28But as for me, the nearness of God is my good; I have made the Lord GOD my refuge, that I may tell of all Thy works.
