1BOOK III A Psalm of Asaph. Surely God is good to Israel, even to such as are pure in heart.
1Та добар је Бог Израиљу, онима који су чиста срца.
2But as for me, my feet were almost gone; my steps had well nigh slipped.
2А ноге моје умало не зађоше, умало не попузнуше стопала моја,
3For I was envious at the arrogant, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.
3Јер се расрдих на безумнике видећи како безбожници добро живе.
4For there are no pangs at their death, and their body is sound.
4Јер не знају за невољу до саме смрти, и тело је њихово претило.
5In the trouble of man they are not; neither are they plagued like men.
5На пословима човечијим нема их, и не муче се с другим људима.
6Therefore pride is as a chain about their neck; violence covereth them as a garment.
6Тога ради опточени су охолоћу као огрлицом, и обучени у обест као у стајаће рухо.
7Their eyes stand forth from fatness; they are gone beyond the imaginations of their heart.
7Од дебљине избуљено им је око, срце пуно клапе.
8They scoff, and in wickedness utter oppression; they speak as if there were none on high.
8Подсмевају се, пакосно говоре о насиљу, охоло говоре.
9They have set their mouth against the heavens, and their tongue walketh through the earth.
9Уста своја дижу у небо, и земљу пролази језик њихов.
10Therefore His people return hither; and waters of fullness are drained out by them.
10И зато се онамо навраћају неки из народа његовог, и пију воду из пуног извора.
11And they say: 'How doth God know? And is there knowledge in the Most High?'
11И говоре: Како ће разабрати Бог? Зар Вишњи зна?
12Behold, such are the wicked; and they that are always at ease increase riches.
12Па ето, ови безбожници срећни на свету умножавају богатство.
13Surely in vain have I cleansed my heart, and washed my hands in innocency;
13Зар, дакле, узалуд чистим срце своје, и умивам безазленошћу руке своје,
14For all the day have I been plagued, and my chastisement came every morning.
14Допадам рана сваки дан, и муке свако јутро?
15If I had said: 'I will speak thus', behold, I had been faithless to the generation of Thy children.
15Кад бих казао: Говорићу као и они, изневерио бих род синова Твојих.
16And when I pondered how I might know this, it was wearisome in mine eyes;
16И тако стадох размишљати да бих ово разумео; али то беше тешко у очима мојим.
17Until I entered into the sanctuary of God, and considered their end.
17Док најпосле не уђох у светињу Божију, и дознах крај њихов.
18Surely Thou settest them in slippery places; Thou hurlest them down to utter ruin.
18Та на клизавом месту поставио си их, и бацаш их у пропаст!
19How are they become a desolation in a moment! They are wholly consumed by terrors.
19Како зачас пропадају, гину, нестаје их од ненадне страхоте!
20As a dream when one awaketh, so, O Lord, when Thou arousest Thyself, Thou wilt despise their semblance.
20Као сан, кад се човек пробуди, тако пробудивши их, Господе, у ништа обраћаш утвару њихову.
21For my heart was in a ferment, and I was pricked in my reins.
21Кад кипљаше срце моје и растрзах се у себи,
22But I was brutish, and ignorant; I was as a beast before Thee.
22Тада бејах незналица и не разумевах; као живинче бијах пред Тобом.
23Nevertheless I am continually with Thee; Thou holdest my right hand.
23Али сам свагда код Тебе, Ти ме држиш за десну руку.
24Thou wilt guide me with Thy counsel, and afterward receive me with glory.
24По својој вољи водиш ме, и после ћеш ме одвести у славу.
25Whom have I in heaven but Thee? And beside Thee I desire none upon earth.
25Кога имам на небу? И с Тобом ништа нећу на земљи.
26My flesh and my heart faileth; but God is the rock of my heart and my portion for ever.
26Чезне за Тобом тело моје и срце моје; Бог је град срца мог и део мој довека.
27For, lo, they that go far from Thee shall perish; Thou dost destroy all them that go astray from Thee.
27Јер ево који одступише од Тебе, гину; Ти истребљаваш сваког који чини прељубу остављајући Тебе.
28But as for me, the nearness of God is my good; I have made the Lord GOD my refuge, that I may tell of all Thy works.
28А мени је добро бити близу Бога. На Господа полажем надање своје, и казиваћу сва чудеса Твоја.
