1A Song of Ascents; of David. 'If it had not been the LORD who was for us', let Israel now say;
1Да није био Господ с нама, нека рече Израиљ,
2'If it had not been the LORD who was for us, when men rose up against us,
2Да није био Господ с нама, кад људи усташе на нас,
3Then they had swallowed us up alive, when their wrath was kindled against us;
3Живе би нас прождрли, кад се распали гнев њихов на нас;
4Then the waters had overwhelmed us, the stream had gone over our soul;
4Потопила би нас вода, река би покрила душу нашу;
5Then the proud waters had gone over our soul.'
5Покрила би душу нашу силна вода.
6Blessed be the LORD, who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth.
6Благословен Господ, који нас не даде зубима њиховим да нас растржу!
7Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers; the snare is broken, and we are escaped.
7Душа се наша избави као птица из замке ловачке; замка се раскиде, и ми се избависмо.
8Our help is in the name of the LORD, who made heaven and earth.
8Помоћ је наша у имену Господњем, који је створио небо и земљу.
