1Hallelujah; for it is good to sing praises unto our God; for it is pleasant, and praise is comely.
1主をほめたたえよ！ 私たちの神をほめ歌うことは良いこと。 賛美することは喜ばしく、ふさわしい。
2The LORD doth build up Jerusalem, He gathereth together the dispersed of Israel;
2主はエルサレムを建て直し、 イスラエルの散らされた者たちを集められる。
3Who healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.
3心の打ち砕かれた者を癒し、 その傷を包まれる。
4He counteth the number of the stars; He giveth them all their names.
4主は星の数を数え、 そのすべてを名で呼ばれる。
5Great is our Lord, and mighty in power; His understanding is infinite.
5私たちの主は偉大で、力に満ちておられる。 その英知は測り知れない。
6The LORD upholdeth the humble; He bringeth the wicked down to the ground.
6主はへりくだる者を支え、 悪者を地に倒される。
7Sing unto the LORD with thanksgiving, sing praises upon the harp unto our God;
7感謝をもって主に歌え。 竪琴を奏で、私たちの神をほめ歌え。
8Who covereth the heaven with clouds, who prepareth rain for the earth, who maketh the mountains to spring with grass.
8主は空を雲で覆い、 地のために雨を備え、 山々に草を生えさせられる。
9He giveth to the beast his food, and to the young ravens which cry.
9家畜に食物を与え、 鳴き求めるからすのひなにも与えられる。
10He delighteth not in the strength of the horse; He taketh no pleasure in the legs of a man.
10主は馬の力を喜ばず、 人の脚力を喜ばれない。
11The LORD taketh pleasure in them that fear Him, in those that wait for His mercy.
11主はご自分を恐れる者たちを喜ばれる。 その慈しみに望みを置く者たちを。
12Glorify the LORD, O Jerusalem; praise thy God, O Zion.
12エルサレムよ、主をほめたたえよ。 シオンよ、あなたの神をほめたたえよ。
13For He hath made strong the bars of thy gates; He hath blessed thy children within thee.
13主はあなたの門のかんぬきを強くし、 あなたの内にいる子らを祝福される。
14He maketh thy borders peace; He giveth thee in plenty the fat of wheat.
14あなたの国境に平和を与え、 最良の小麦であなたを満ち足らせられる。
15He sendeth out His commandment upon earth; His word runneth very swiftly.
15主が地に命令を送られると、 その御言葉は速やかに走る。
16He giveth snow like wool; He scattereth the hoar-frost like ashes.
16主は羊毛のように雪を降らせ、 灰のように霜をまかれる。
17He casteth forth His ice like crumbs; who can stand before His cold?
17小石のように、ひょうを投げ落とされる。 誰がその寒さに耐えられるだろうか。
18He sendeth forth His word, and melteth them; He causeth His wind to blow, and the waters flow.
18主が御言葉を送ると、それらは溶ける。 風を吹かせると、水が流れる。
19He declareth His word unto Jacob, His statutes and His ordinances unto Israel.
19主は御言葉をヤコブに示し、 掟と定めをイスラエルに示される。
20He hath not dealt so with any nation; and as for His ordinances, they have not known them. Hallelujah.
20主はほかのどの国にも、このようにはされなかった。 彼らは主の定めを知らない。 主をほめたたえよ！
