Psalms 53

1(53-1) For the Leader; upon Mahalath. Maschil of David. (53-2) The fool hath said in his heart: 'There is no God'; they have dealt corruptly, and have done abominable iniquity; there is none that doeth good.
1愚かな者は心の中で、「神はいない」と言った。 彼らは腐敗し、忌まわしい不義を行った。 善を行う者はいない。
2(53-3) God looked forth from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any man of understanding, that did seek after God.
2神は天から人の子らを見下ろされた。 悟る者がいるか、 神を尋ね求める者がいるかを見るために。
3(53-4) Every one of them is unclean, they are together become impure; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.
3彼らはみな背を向けた。 ともに汚れた者となった。 善を行う者はいない。一人もいない。
4(53-5) 'Shall not the workers of iniquity know it, who eat up My people as they eat bread, and call not upon God?'
4不義を行う者たちは、何も知らないのか。 彼らはパンを食べるように私の民を食い尽くし、 神を呼び求めない。
5(53-6) There are they in great fear, where no fear was; for God hath scattered the bones of him that encampeth against thee; Thou hast put them to shame, because God hath rejected them.
5恐れる理由のない所で、彼らは大いに恐れた。 神が、あなたに対して陣を敷く者の骨を散らされたからだ。 あなたは彼らを恥じ入らせた。 神が彼らを退けられたからだ。
6(53-7) Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! When God turneth the captivity of His people, let Jacob rejoice, let Israel be glad.
6イスラエルの救いがシオンから来るように。 神がご自分の民を捕囚から連れ戻されるとき、 ヤコブは喜び、 イスラエルは楽しむだろう。
