1Not unto us, O LORD, not unto us, but unto Thy name give glory, for Thy mercy, and for Thy truth's sake.
1主よ、私たちにではなく、私たちにではなく、 あなたの御名に栄光を帰してください。 あなたの慈しみと真実のために。
2Wherefore should the nations say: 'Where is now their God?'
2なぜ国々の民は言うのだろうか。 「彼らの神は今どこにいるのか」と。
3But our God is in the heavens; whatsoever pleased Him He hath done.
3私たちの神は天におられ、 望むことをすべて行われる。
4Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men's hands.
4彼らの偶像は銀と金、 人の手の業である。
5They have mouths, but they speak not; eyes have they, but they see not;
5口があっても語らず、 目があっても見ない。
6They have ears, but they hear not; noses have they, but they smell not;
6耳があっても聞かず、 鼻があっても嗅がない。
7They have hands, but they handle not; feet have they, but they walk not; neither speak they with their throat.
7手があっても触れず、 足があっても歩かず、 喉から声を出すこともない。
8They that make them shall be like unto them; yea, every one that trusteth in them.
8それらを造る者も、それらのようになる。 それらに信頼するすべての者も同じである。
9O Israel, trust thou in the LORD! He is their help and their shield!
9イスラエルよ、主に信頼せよ。 主は彼らの助け、彼らの盾である。
10O house of Aaron, trust ye in the LORD! He is their help and their shield!
10アロンの家よ、主に信頼せよ。 主は彼らの助け、彼らの盾である。
11Ye that fear the LORD, trust in the LORD! He is their help and their shield.
11主を恐れる者たちよ、主に信頼せよ。 主は彼らの助け、彼らの盾である。
12The LORD hath been mindful of us, He will bless — He will bless the house of Israel; He will bless the house of Aaron.
12主は私たちを覚えておられ、祝福してくださる。 イスラエルの家を祝福し、 アロンの家を祝福してくださる。
13He will bless them that fear the LORD, both small and great.
13主を恐れる者たちを祝福してくださる。 小さい者も大きい者も。
14The LORD increase you more and more, you and your children.
14主があなたがたをますます増やしてくださるように。 あなたがたと、あなたがたの子どもたちを。
15Blessed be ye of the LORD who made heaven and earth.
15あなたがたは主に祝福されている。 天と地を造られた主に。
16The heavens are the heavens of the LORD; but the earth hath He given to the children of men.
16天は主の天である。 しかし、地は人々に与えられた。
17The dead praise not the LORD, neither any that go down into silence;
17死者は主をほめたたえない。 沈黙の中へ下る者も、誰一人ほめたたえない。
18But we will bless the LORD from this time forth and for ever. Hallelujah.
18しかし、私たちは主をほめたたえる。 今よりとこしえまでも。 主をほめたたえよ。
