Psalmen 122
Petrus Canisius Bible, 1939 (De Heilige Schrift)
JPS Tanakh (Jewish Publication Society, 1917)
1Een bedevaartslied. Wat was ik verheugd, toen men zeide: “Wij trekken op naar Jahweh’s huis!”
1A Song of Ascents; of David. I rejoiced when they said unto me: 'Let us go unto the house of the LORD.'
2En nu staan onze voeten Al binnen uw poorten, Jerusalem!
2Our feet are standing within thy gates, O Jerusalem;
3Jerusalem, als stad herbouwd, Met burgers, vast aaneen gesloten;
3Jerusalem, that art builded as a city that is compact together;
4Waar de stammen naar opgaan, De stammen van Jahweh. Daar is het Israël een wet, De Naam van Jahweh te loven;
4Whither the tribes went up, even the tribes of the LORD, as a testimony unto Israel, to give thanks unto the name of the LORD.
5Daar staan de zetels voor het gericht, En het troongestoelte van Davids huis.
5For there were set thrones for judgment, the thrones of the house of David.
6Jerusalem, die u liefhebben, Wensen u vrede en heil;
6Pray for the peace of Jerusalem; may they prosper that love thee.
7Vrede zij binnen uw muren, Heil binnen uw burchten!
7Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces.
8Om mijn broeders en vrienden Bid ik de vrede over u af;
8For my brethren and companions' sakes, I will now say: 'Peace be within thee.'
9Om het huis van Jahweh, onzen God, Wil ik smeken voor uw heil!
9For the sake of the house of the LORD our God I will seek thy good.
