10Koesj verwekte ook Nimrod. Deze begon machtig te worden op aarde.
10And Cush begot Nimrod; he began to be a mighty one in the earth.
11Egypte bracht de Loedieten voort, de Anamieten, de Lehabieten, de Naftoechieten,

19Éber had twee zonen: de eerste heette Páleg, omdat in zijn tijd de wereld verdeeld werd; zijn broer heette Joktan.
19And unto Eber were born two sons: the name of the one was Peleg; for in his days the earth was divided; and his brother's name was Joktan.

23Ofir, Chawila en Jobab: allen zonen van Joktan.
23and Ophir, and Havilah, and Jobab. All these were the sons of Joktan.
24Sem, Arpaksad, Sála,

25Éber en Páleg; Ragaoe,
25Eber, Peleg, Reu;

31Jetoer, Nafisj en Kédma. Dit zijn de zonen van Jisjmaël.
31Jetur, Naphish, and Kedem. These are the sons of Ishmael.
32Ketoera, de bijvrouw van Abraham, kreeg de volgende kinderen: Zimran, Joksjan, Medan, Midjan, Jisjbak en Sjóeach. Joksjan verwekte Sjeba en Dedan.
32And the sons of Keturah, Abraham's concubine: she bore Zimran, and Jokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Ishbak, and Shuah. And the sons of Jokshan: Sheba, and Dedan.
33De zonen van Midjan waren: Efa, Éfer, Chanok, Abida en Eldaä. Dat waren allen nakomelingen van Ketoera.
33And the sons of Midian: Ephah, and Epher, and Hanoch, and Abida, and Eldaah. All these were the sons of Keturah.
34Abraham was de vader van Isaäk. De zonen van Isaäk waren Esau en Israël.

38And the sons of Seir: Lotan, and Shobal, and Zibeon, and Anah, and Dishon, and Ezer, and Dishan.
39De zonen van Lotan waren Chori en Homam; de zuster van Lotan was Timna.
39And the sons of Lotan: Hori, and Homam; and Timna was Lotan's sister.
40De zonen van Sjobal waren: Aljan, Manáchat, Ebal, Sjefi en Onam. De zonen van Sibon waren Ajja en Ana.
40The sons of Shobal: Alian, and Manahath, and Ebal, Shephi, and Onam. And the sons of Zibeon: Aiah, and Anah.
41De zoon van Ana was Disjon. De zonen van Disjon waren: Chamran, Esjban, Jitran en Keran.
41The sons of Anah: Dishon. And the sons of Dishon: Hamran, and Eshban, and Ithran, and Cheran.
42De zonen van Éser waren: Bilhan, Zaäwan en Akan. De zonen van Disjan waren Oes en Aran.
42The sons of Ezer: Bilhan, and Zaavan, Jaakan. The sons of Dishan: Uz, and Aran.
43En dit zijn de koningen, die over het land Edom regeerden, eer er een koning heerste over de zonen Israëls. Béla, de zoon van Beor; zijn hofstad heette Dinhaba.
43Now these are the kings that reigned in the land of Edom, before their reigned any king over the children of Israel: Bela the son of Beor; and the name of his city was Dinhabah.
44Na de dood van Béla regeerde Jobab, de zoon van Zérach uit Bosra in zijn plaats.
44And Bela died, and Jobab the son of Zerah of Bozrah reigned in his stead.
45Na de dood van Jobab regeerde Choesjam uit het land der Temanieten in zijn plaats.
45And Jobab died, and Husham of the land of the Temanites reigned in his stead.
46Na de dood van Choesjam regeerde Hadad, de zoon van Bedad, in zijn plaats. Hij was het, die Midjan in de vlakten van Moab versloeg; zijn stad heette Awit.
46And Husham died, and Hadad the son of Bedad, who smote Midian in the field of Moab, reigned in his stead; and the name of his city was Avith.

48Na de dood van Samla regeerde Sjaoel uit Rechobot aan de rivier in zijn plaats.
48And Samlah died, and Shaul of Rehoboth by the River reigned in his stead.

50Na de dood van Báal-Chanan regeerde Hadad in zijn plaats; zijn hofstad heette Paï; zijn vrouw heette Mehetabel, en was de dochter van Matred en kleindochter van Me-Zahab.
50And Baal-hanan died, and Hadad reigned in his stead; and the name of his city was Pai; and his wife's name was Mehetabel, the daughter of Matred, the daughter of Mezahab.
51Na de dood van Hadad waren er de volgende stamhoofden in Edom: die van Timna, Alja en Jetet,
51And Hadad died. And the chiefs of Edom were: the chief of Timna, the chief of Alvah, the chief of Jetheth;
52Oholibama, Ela en Pinon,
52the chief of Oholibamah, the chief of Elah, the chief of Pinon;
53Kenaz, Teman en Mibsar,
53the chief of Kenaz, the chief of Teman, the chief of Mibzar;
54Magdiël en Iram. Dit waren dus de stamhoofden van Edom.
