Psalmen 94
Petrus Canisius Bible, 1939 (De Heilige Schrift)
JPS Tanakh (Jewish Publication Society, 1917)
1Jahweh, wrekende God, God der wrake, treed op;
1O LORD, Thou God to whom vengeance belongeth, Thou God to whom vengeance belongeth, shine forth.
2Lift up Thyself, Thou Judge of the earth; render to the proud their recompense.
3LORD, how long shall the wicked, how long shall the wicked exult?
4They gush out, they speak arrogancy; all the workers of iniquity bear themselves loftily.
5Jahweh, ze vertrappen uw volk, En verdrukken uw erfdeel;
5They crush Thy people, O LORD, and afflict Thy heritage.
6They slay the widow and the stranger, and murder the fatherless.
7And they say: 'The LORD will not see, neither will the God of Jacob give heed.'
8Domme kudde, word toch verstandig; Gij dwazen, wanneer wordt gij wijs?
8Consider, ye brutish among the people; and ye fools, when will ye understand?
9Zou Hij het niet horen, die het oor heeft geplant, Niet zien, die het oog heeft geschapen;
9He that planted the ear, shall He not hear? He that formed the eye, shall He not see?
10He that instructeth nations, shall not He correct? even He that teacheth man knowledge?
11The LORD knoweth the thoughts of man, that they are vanity.
12Jahweh, gelukkig de man, dien Gij onderricht, En dien Gij leert uit uw wet:
12Happy is the man whom Thou instructest, O LORD, and teachest out of Thy law;
13Hoe hij gelaten moet zijn in dagen van rampspoed, Totdat voor den boze het graf is gedolven;
13That Thou mayest give him rest from the days of evil, until the pit be digged for the wicked.
14Hoe Jahweh zijn volk niet verstoot, En nooit zijn erfdeel verlaat;
14For the LORD will not cast off His people, neither will He forsake His inheritance.
15For right shall return unto justice, and all the upright in heart shall follow it.
16Who will rise up for me against the evil-doers? Who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?
17Unless the LORD had been my help, my soul had soon dwelt in silence.
18Maar als ik denk: nú wankelt mijn voet, Dan steunt mij uw goedheid, o Jahweh;
18If I say: 'My foot slippeth', Thy mercy, O LORD, holdeth me up.
19En wanneer zware zorgen mij innerlijk drukken, Dan verkwikt uw vertroosting mijn ziel.
19When my cares are many within me, Thy comforts delight my soul.
20Zoudt Gij iets gemeen hebben met de zetel van onrecht, Die onheil sticht op gezag van de wet;
20Shall the seat of wickedness have fellowship with Thee, which frameth mischief by statute?
21They gather themselves together against the soul of the righteous, and condemn innocent blood.
22Neen, voor mij is Jahweh een toevlucht, Mijn God een veilige Rots;
22But the LORD hath been my high tower, and my God the rock of my refuge.
23Maar hùn vergeldt Hij hun onrecht, En vernielt ze om hun boosheid: Jahweh, onze God!
23And He hath brought upon them their own iniquity, and will cut them off in their own evil; the LORD our God will cut them off.
