1Unto the end, for them that shall be changed, for the sons of Core, for understanding. A canticle for the Beloved.
1ای خدا به گوشهای خود شنیده‌ایم وپدران ما، ما را خبر داده‌اند، از کاری که در روزهای ایشان و در ایام سلف کرده‌ای.
2My heart hath uttered a good word I speak my works to the king; My tongue is the pen of a scrivener that writeth swiftly.
2تو به‌دست خود امت‌ها را بیرون کردی، اماایشان را غرس نمودی. قومها را تباه کردی، اما ایشان را منتشر ساختی.
3Thou art beautiful above the sons of men: grace is poured abroad in thy lips; therefore hath God blessed thee for ever.
3زیرا که به شمشیر خود زمین را تسخیر نکردند و بازوی ایشان ایشان را نجات نداد. بلکه دست راست تو وبازو و نور روی تو. زیرا از ایشان خرسندبودی.
4Gird thy sword upon thy thigh, O thou most mighty.
4ای خدا تو پادشاه من هستی. پس برنجات یعقوب امر فرما.
5With thy comeliness and thy beauty set out, proceed prosperously, and reign. Because of truth and meekness and justice: and thy right hand shall conduct thee wonderfully.
5به مدد تو دشمنان خود راخواهیم افکند و به نام تو مخالفان خویش راپایمال خواهیم ساخت.
6Thy arrows are sharp: under thee shall people fall, into the hearts of the king’s enemies.
6زیرا بر کمان خودتوکل نخواهم داشت و شمشیرم مرا خلاصی نخواهد داد.
7Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: the sceptre of thy kingdom is a sceptre of uprightness.
7بلکه تو ما را از دشمنان ما خلاصی دادی و مبغضان ما را خجل ساختی.
8Thou hast loved justice, and hated iniquity: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.
8تمامی روزبر خدا فخر خواهیم کرد و نام تو را تا به ابد تسبیح خواهیم خواند، سلاه.
9Myrrh and stacte and cassia perfume thy garments, from the ivory houses: out of which
9لیکن الان تو ما را دورانداخته و رسوا ساخته‌ای و با لشکرهای ما بیرون نمی آیی.
10The daughters of kings have delighted thee in thy glory. The queen stood on thy right hand, in gilded clothing; surrounded with variety.
10و ما را از پیش دشمن روگردان ساخته‌ای و خصمان ما برای خویشتن تاراج می‌کنند.
11Hearken, O daughter, and see, and incline thy ear: and forget thy people and thy father’s house.
11ما را مثل گوسفندان برای خوراک تسلیم کرده‌ای و ما را در میان امت‌ها پراکنده ساخته‌ای.
12And the king shall greatly desire thy beauty; for he is the Lord thy God, and him they shall adore.
12قوم خود را بی‌بها فروختی و ازقیمت ایشان نفع نبردی.
13And the daughters of Tyre with gifts, yea, all the rich among the people, shall entreat thy countenance.
13ما را نزد همسایگان ماعار گردانیدی. اهانت و سخریه نزد آنانی که گرداگرد مایند.
14All the glory of the king’s daughter is within in golden borders,
14ما را در میان امت هاضرب‌المثل ساخته‌ای. جنبانیدن سر در میان قومها.
15Clothed round about with varieties. After her shall virgins be brought to the king: her neighbours shall be brought to thee.
15و رسوایی من همه روزه در نظر من است. و خجالت رویم مرا پوشانیده است،
16They shall be brought with gladness and rejoicing: they shall be brought into the temple of the king.
16ازآواز ملامت گو و فحاش، از روی دشمن و انتقام گیرنده.
17Instead of thy fathers, sons are born to thee: thou shalt make them princes over all the earth.
17این همه بر ما واقع شد. اما تو را فراموش نکردیم و در عهد تو خیانت نورزیدیم.
18They shall remember thy name throughout all generations. Therefore shall people praise thee for ever; yea, for ever and ever.
18دل مابه عقب برنگردید و پایهای ما از طریق تو انحراف نورزید.

19هرچند ما را در مکان اژدرها کوبیدی و ما را به سایه موت پوشانیدی.

20نام خدای خود را هرگز فراموش نکردیم و دست خود را به خدای غیر برنیفراشتیم.

21آیا خدا این راغوررسی نخواهد کرد؟ زیرا او خفایای قلب رامی داند.

22هر آینه به‌خاطر تو تمامی روز کشته می‌شویم و مثل گوسفندان ذبح شمرده می‌شویم.

23ای خداوند بیدار شو چراخوابیده‌ای؟ برخیز و ما را تا به ابد دور مینداز.

24چرا روی خود را پوشانیدی و ذلت و تنگی مارا فراموش کردی؟

25زیرا که جان ما به خاک خم شده است و شکم ما به زمین چسبیده.
