1I have loved, because the Lord will hear the voice of my prayer.
1Kiam Izrael eliris el Egiptujo, La domo de Jakob el fremda popolo,
2Because he hath inclined his ear unto me: and in my days I will call upon him.
2Tiam Jehuda fariĝis Lia sanktaĵo, Izrael Lia regno.
3The sorrows of death have encompassed me: and the perils of hell have found me. I met with trouble and sorrow:
3La maro vidis kaj forkuris, Jordan turniĝis malantaŭen;
4And I called upon the name of the Lord. O Lord, deliver my soul.
4La montoj saltis kiel ŝafoj, La montetoj kiel ŝafidoj.
5The Lord is merciful and just, and our God sheweth mercy.
5Kio estas al vi, ho maro, ke vi forkuris? Jordan, kial vi turniĝis malantaŭen?
6The Lord is the keeper of little ones: I was little and he delivered me.
6Montoj, kial vi saltas kiel ŝafoj, Montetoj, kiel ŝafidoj?
7Turn, O my soul, into thy rest: for the Lord hath been bountiful to thee.
7Antaŭ la Sinjoro tremu, ho tero, Antaŭ la Dio de Jakob,
8For he hath delivered my soul from death: my eyes from tears, my feet from falling.
8Kiu ŝanĝas rokon en lagon da akvo, Graniton en akvodonan fonton.
9I will please the Lord in the land of the living.
