Tongan Bible, Revised West Version
1I have loved, because the Lord will hear the voice of my prayer.
1ʻI he ʻalu atu ʻa ʻIsileli mei ʻIsipite, ko e fale ʻo Sēkope mei he kakai ʻoe lea kehe;
2Because he hath inclined his ear unto me: and in my days I will call upon him.
2Ko hono faletapu ʻa Siuta, mo hono puleʻanga ʻa ʻIsileli.
3The sorrows of death have encompassed me: and the perils of hell have found me. I met with trouble and sorrow:
3Naʻe mamata ki ai ʻae tahi, pea hola ai: naʻe tekeʻi atu ʻo fakaholomui ʻa Sioatani.
4And I called upon the name of the Lord. O Lord, deliver my soul.
4Naʻe hopohopo ʻae ngaahi moʻunga ʻo hangē ko e fanga sipitangata, mo e ngaahi foʻi moʻunga ʻo hangē ko e fanga lami.
5The Lord is merciful and just, and our God sheweth mercy.
5Ko e hā naʻe hoko kiate koe, ʻa koe ko e tahi, koeʻuhi naʻa ke hola ai? ʻA koe Sioatani, koeʻuhi ke tekeʻi atu ʻo fakaholomui koe?
6The Lord is the keeper of little ones: I was little and he delivered me.
6ʻAe ngaahi moʻunga, koeʻuhi naʻa mou hopohopo ai ʻo hangē ko e fanga sipitangata; mo kimoutolu ʻae ngaahi foʻi moʻunga, ʻo hangē ko e fanga lami?
7Turn, O my soul, into thy rest: for the Lord hath been bountiful to thee.
7ʻA koe ko māmani, ke ke tetetete ʻi he ʻao ʻoe ʻEiki, ʻi he ʻao ʻoe ʻOtua ʻo Sēkope;
8For he hath delivered my soul from death: my eyes from tears, my feet from falling.
8ʻAia naʻa ne liliu ʻae maka ko e anovai, mo e maka afi ko e matavai.
9I will please the Lord in the land of the living.
