1Blessed be the Lord my God, who teacheth my hands to fight, and my fingers to war.
1‌ʻE Sihova, fanongo ki heʻeku lotu, fakafanongo ki heʻeku ngaahi lotu tāumaʻu: pea ʻi hoʻo moʻoni mo hoʻo māʻoniʻoni, ke ke talia au.
2My mercy, and my refuge: my support, and my deliverer: My protector, and I have hoped in him: who subdueth my people under me.
2Pea ʻoua naʻa ke fakamaauʻi hoʻo tamaioʻeiki: koeʻuhi ʻe ʻikai tonuhia ʻi ho ʻao ha tangata moʻui ʻe tokotaha.
3Lord, what is man, that thou art made known to him? or the son of man, that thou makest account of him?
3He kuo fakatanga hoku laumālie ʻe he fili; kuo ne taaʻi hifo ʻeku moʻui ki he kelekele; kuo ne pule ke u nofo ʻi he poʻuli, ʻo hangē ko kinautolu kuo fuoloa ʻenau mate.
4Man is like to vanity: his days pass away like a shadow.
4Ko ia kuo taʻomia ai ʻa hoku laumālie; kuo lala hoku loto ʻiate au.
5Lord, bow down thy heavens and descend: touch the mountains and they shall smoke.
5‌ʻOku ou manatu ki he ngaahi ʻaho ʻi muʻa; ʻoku ou fakalaulauloto ki hoʻo ngāue kotoa pē; ʻoku ou fifili ki he ngāue ʻa ho nima.
6Send forth lightning, and thou shalt scatter them: shoot out thy arrows, and thou shalt trouble them.
6‌ʻOku ou mafao atu hoku nima kiate koe: ʻoku holi ʻa hoku laumālie kiate koe, ʻo hangē ko e fonua fieinua. Sila.
7Put forth thy hand from on high, take me out, and deliver me from many waters: from the hand of strange children:
7‌ʻE Sihova, ʻafio vave kiate au: kuo vaivai ʻa hoku laumālie: ʻoua naʻa fufū ho fofonga ʻiate au, telia naʻaku tatau mo kinautolu ʻoku nau ʻalu hifo ki he luo.
8Whose mouth hath spoken vanity: and their right hand is the right hand of iniquity.
8Ke ke fakatokangaʻi au ke u fanongo ki hoʻo ʻaloʻofa ʻi he pongipongi; he ʻoku ou falala kiate koe: fakaʻilo mai kiate au ʻae hala ʻaia ʻoku totonu ke u ʻalu ai; he ʻoku ou hiki hake hoku laumālie kiate koe.
9To thee, O God, I will sing a new canticle: on the psaltery and an instrument of ten strings I will sing praises to thee.
9Fakamoʻui au, ʻE Sihova, mei hoku ngaahi fili: ʻoku ou hola kiate koe ke fakafufū au,
10Who givest salvation to kings: who hast redeemed thy servant David from the malicious sword:
10Akonakiʻi au ke u fai ki ho finangalo; he ko koe ko hoku ʻOtua; tuku ke tataki au ʻe ho Laumālie lelei, ki he fonua ʻoe angatonu.
11Deliver me, And rescue me out of the hand of strange children; whose mouth hath spoken vanity: and their right hand is the right hand of iniquity:
11‌ʻE Sihova, fakamoʻui au koeʻuhi ko ho huafa: koeʻuhi ko hoʻo māʻoniʻoni ke ke ʻomi hoku laumālie mei he mamahi.
12Whose sons are as new plants in their youth: Their daughters decked out, adorned round about after the similitude of a temple:
12Pea ʻi hoʻo ʻaloʻofa ke ke motuhi hoku ngaahi fili, mo fakaʻauha ʻakinautolu ʻoku nau fakamamahi ki hoku laumālie: he ko hoʻo tamaioʻeiki au.
13Their storehouses full, flowing out of this into that. Their sheep fruitful in young, abounding in their goings forth:
