1(18-1) For the Leader. A Psalm of David the servant of the LORD, who spoke unto the LORD the words of this song in the day that the LORD delivered him from the hand of all his enemies, and from the hand of Saul; (18-2) And he said: I love thee, O LORD, my strength.
1Проводиреві хора: Від раба Господнього Давида, котрий сьпівав слово піснї сієї до Господа, як Господь ізбавив його з рук ворогів його і з рук Саула. І сказав він: Люблю тебе, Господи, сило моя!
2(18-3) The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my rock, in Him I take refuge; my shield, and my horn of salvation, my high tower.
2Господь скеля моя, і ізбавленнє моє; мій Бог, моє прибіжище, на него вповати му. Він щит мій і ріг мого спасення, башта моя високая.
3(18-4) Praised, I cry, is the LORD, and I am saved from mine enemies.
3Покличу Господа, котрому належиться слава, і від ворогів моїх спасуся.
4(18-5) The cords of Death compassed me, and the floods of Belial assailed me.
4Обгорнули мене муки смертні, злякали мене потоки погибелї.
5(18-6) The cords of Sheol surrounded me; the snares of Death confronted me.
5Пута пекольні обняли мене, сїти смертні обхопили мене.
6(18-7) In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried unto my God; out of His temple He heard my voice, and my cry came before Him unto His ears.
6В тїснотї моїй заквилив я до Господа, і благав Бога мого; він почув з храму свого голос мій, і благаннє моє дійшло до слуху його.
7(18-8) Then the earth did shake and quake, the foundations also of the mountains did tremble; they were shaken, because He was wroth.
7Захиталась тодї і задрожала земля, тремтїли підвалини гір і хитались, бо запалав він гнївом.
8(18-9) Smoke arose up in His nostrils, and fire out of His mouth did devour; coals flamed forth from Him.
8Бухнув дим із нїздер його, і вогонь пожираючий посипався із уст його, углє паляще бурхало з него.
9(18-10) He bowed the heavens also, and came down; and thick darkness was under His feet.
9Нахилив небеса, і спустився на землю, і стала чорна хмара під ногами його.
10(18-11) And He rode upon a cherub, and did fly; yea, He did swoop down upon the wings of the wind.
10І возсївши на херувима, прилетїв, і вознїсся на крилах вітряних.
11(18-12) He made darkness His hiding-place, His pavilion round about Him; darkness of waters, thick clouds of the skies.
11Темряву зробив своїм покровом, наметом кругом себе — темряву вод, густі воздушні хмари.
12(18-13) At the brightness before Him, there passed through His thick clouds hailstones and coals of fire.
12При сяєві блискавок його пересунулась перед ним густа його хмара, і посипались гряд і углє огнисте.
13(18-14) The LORD also thundered in the heavens, and the Most High gave forth His voice; hailstones and coals of fire.
13І загремів Господь на небесах, і Всевишнїй підняв свій голос — гряд і углє паляще.
14(18-15) And He sent out His arrows, and scattered them; and He shot forth lightnings, and discomfited them.
14Пустив стріли свої, і розігнав їх, і метнув блискавками, і заколотив їх.
15(18-16) And the channels of waters appeared, and the foundations of the world were laid bare, at Thy rebuke, O LORD, at the blast of the breath of Thy nostrils.
15І зявились зливні потоки, і підвалини сьвіта розкрились від грізного голосу твого, Господи, від лютування гнїва твого.
16(18-17) He sent from on high, He took me; He drew me out of many waters.
16Він простер руку з високостї, і, вхопивши, витяг мене з поводї великої.
17(18-18) He delivered me from mine enemy most strong, and from them that hated me, for they were too mighty for me.
17Він вирятував мене від сильного ворога мого і від ненависників моїх, були бо вони дужші від мене.
18(18-19) They confronted me in the day of my calamity; but the LORD was a stay unto me.
18Вони запопали мене в день нещастя мого, та Господь був підпорою моєю.
19(18-20) He brought me forth also into a large place; He delivered me, because He delighted in me.
19Випровадив мене на простір, і визволив, бо вподобав мене.
20(18-21) The LORD rewarded me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands hath He recompensed me.
20Віддав менї Господь по правдї моїй, по чистотї рук моїх нагородив мене.
21(18-22) For I have kept the ways of the LORD, and have not wickedly departed from my God.
21Бо державсь я на дорозї Господнїй, і не відступив, як безбожний, від Бога мого.
22(18-23) For all His ordinances were before me, and I put not away His statutes from me.
22Бо всї заповідї його були передо мною, і від приказів його я не відхилився.
23(18-24) And I was single-hearted with Him, and I kept myself from mine iniquity.
23Я був правий перед ним, і стеріг ся робити кому кривду.
24(18-25) Therefore hath the LORD recompensed me according to my righteousness, according to the cleanness of my hands in His eyes.
24І Господь віддав менї по правдї моїй, по чистотї рук моїх перед очима його.
25(18-26) With the merciful Thou dost show Thyself merciful, with the upright man Thou dost show Thyself upright;
25Для милосердного ти являєшся милосердним; для чоловіка звершеного — звершеним.
26(18-27) With the pure Thou dost show Thyself pure; and with the crooked Thou dost show Thyself subtle.
26Для чистого являєшся чистим, а від лукавого — ти одвертаєшся.
27(18-28) For Thou dost save the afflicted people; but the haughty eyes Thou dost humble.
27Ти бо спасаєш народ бідолашний, і принизуєш очі гордих.
28(18-29) For Thou dost light my lamp; the LORD my God doth lighten my darkness.
28Бо ти запалюєш сьвітильника мого; Господь, Бог мій, просьвітить темряву мою.
29(18-30) For by Thee I run upon a troop; and by my God do I scale a wall.
29Бо з тобою піду на роту, з Богом моїм проберуся через мури.
30(18-31) As for God, His way is perfect; the word of the LORD is tried; He is a shield unto all them that take refuge in Him.
30Дороги Божі праві; слова Господнї чисті; він щит для всїх уповаючих на него.
31(18-32) For who is God, save the LORD? And who is a Rock, except our God?
31Бо хто Бог, кромі Господа, і хто скеля, як тілько Бог наш.
32(18-33) The God that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way straight;
32Бог, що підперезує мене силою, і рівняє для мене дорогу.
33(18-34) Who maketh my feet like hinds', and setteth me upon my high places;
33Робить мої ноги, як в ланї, і ставить мене на висотах моїх.
34(18-35) Who traineth my hands for war, so that mine arms do bend a bow of brass.
34Навчає руки мої до бою, і напинати зелїзного лука.
35(18-36) Thou hast also given me Thy shield of salvation, and Thy right hand hath holden me up; and Thy condescension hath made me great.
35Ти дав менї щит спасення твого, і правиця твоя піддержувала мене, і милість твоя зробила мене великим.
36(18-37) Thou hast enlarged my steps under me, and my feet have not slipped.
36Ти дав простір стопам моїм, і ноги мої не спотикнулись.
37(18-38) I have pursued mine enemies, and overtaken them; neither did I turn back till they were consumed.
37Погнався я за ворогами, і здогонив їх, і не вернувся, доки не знищив їх.
38(18-39) I have smitten them through, so that they are not able to rise; they are fallen under my feet.
38Розбив їх, і не змогли встати; полягли під ногами моїми.
39(18-40) For Thou hast girded me with strength unto the battle; Thou hast subdued under me those that rose up against me.
39І ти підперезав мене силою до бою, кинув під ноги мої тих, що проти мене встали.
40(18-41) Thou hast also made mine enemies turn their backs unto me, and I did cut off them that hate me.
40І ти віддав менї хребти ворогів моїх, і тих, що ненавидять мене, я знищу.
41(18-42) They cried, but there was none to save; even unto the LORD, but He answered them not.
41Підняли вони зойк, — та не було кому рятувати їх, — до Господа, а він не вислухав їх.
42(18-43) Then did I beat them small as the dust before the wind; I did cast them out as the mire of the streets.
42І я розбиваю їх як порох перед вітром; як сьміттє з улицї, викинув їх.
43(18-44) Thou hast delivered me from the contentions of the people; Thou hast made me the head of the nations; a people whom I have not known serve me.
43Ти спас мене від бунту людей, ти поставив мене головою над народами, менї служить народ, котрого не знав я перше.
44(18-45) As soon as they hear of me, they obey me; the sons of the stranger dwindle away before me.
44Почувши тілько, вже стали послушними менї; сини чужоземні піддались менї, піддобруючись.
45(18-46) The sons of the stranger fade away, and come trembling out of their close places.
45Сини чужоземні злякались, і тремтїли в замках своїх.
46(18-47) The LORD liveth, and blessed be my Rock; and exalted be the God of my salvation;
46Господь жиє, і благословенна будь моя скеля, і нехай буде прославлений Бог мого спасення!
47(18-48) Even the God that executeth vengeance for me, and subdueth peoples under me.
47Бог, що дав менї помститись, і покорив менї народи,
48(18-49) He delivereth me from mine enemies; yea, Thou liftest me up above them that rise up against me; Thou deliverest me from the violent man.
48Що спас мене від ворогів моїх; ба й піднїс мене над ними, що встали проти мене; від чоловіка розбишаки збавив мене.
49(18-50) Therefore I will give thanks unto Thee, O LORD, among the nations, and will sing praises unto Thy name.
49За се, Господи, воздам хвалу тобі між народами, і сьпівати му псальми імени твоєму.
50(18-51) Great salvation giveth He to His king; and showeth mercy to His anointed, to David and to his seed, for evermore.
50Ти бо дав велику підмогу і спасеннє цареві, і надїлив милостю помазаньця свого Давида і рід його по віки.
