1Proč se bouří národové, a lidé daremné věci přemyšlují?
1Why are the nations in an uproar? And why do the peoples mutter in vain?
2Sstupují se králové zemští, a knížata se spolu radí proti Hospodinu, a proti pomazanému jeho,
2The kings of the earth stand up, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against His anointed:
3Říkajíce: Roztrhejme svazky jejich, a zavrzme od sebe provazy jejich.
3'Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.'
4Ale ten, jenž přebývá v nebesích, směje se, Pán posmívá se jim.
4He that sitteth in heaven laugheth, the Lord hath them in derision.
5Tehdáž mluviti bude k nim v hněvě svém, a v prchlivosti své předěsí je, řka:
5Then will He speak unto them in His wrath, and affright them in His sore displeasure:
6Jáť jsem ustanovil krále svého nad Sionem, horou svatou mou.
6'Truly it is I that have established My king upon Zion, My holy mountain.'
7Vypravovati budu úsudek. Hospodin řekl ke mně: Syn můj ty jsi, já dnes zplodil jsem tě.
7I will tell of the decree: the LORD said unto me: 'Thou art My son, this day have I begotten thee.
8Požádej mne, a dámť národy, dědictví tvé, a končiny země, vládařství tvé.
8Ask of Me, and I will give the nations for thine inheritance, and the ends of the earth for thy possession.
9Roztlučeš je prutem železným, a jako nádobu hrnčířskou roztříštíš je.
9Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter's vessel.'
10A protož, králové, nyní srozumějte, vyučujte se, soudcové zemští.
10Now therefore, O ye kings, be wise; be admonished, ye judges of the earth.
11Služte Hospodinu v bázni, a veselte se s třesením.
11Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling.
12Líbejte syna, aby se nerozhněval, a zhynuli byste na cestě, jakž by se jen málo zapálil hněv jeho. Blahoslavení jsou všickni, kteříž doufají v něho.
12Do homage in purity, lest He be angry, and ye perish in the way, when suddenly His wrath is kindled. Happy are all they that take refuge in Him.
