1If it had not been that the Lord was with us, let Israel now say:
1Vaan ah aka ngol nang taengla ka mik te ka huel.
2If it had not been that the Lord was with us, When men rose up against us,
2A boei rhoek kut taengkah salpa rhoek kah mik bangla, a boeinu kut taengkah salnu mik bangla mamih n'rhen duela mamih mik he mamih kah Pathen BOEIPA taengah om van ne.
3Perhaps they had swallowed us up alive. When their fury was enkindled against us,
3Nueihbu he muep ka cung coeng dongah rhen kaimih he n'rhen lah. BOEIPA aw kaimih he n'rhen lah.
4Perhaps the waters had swallowed us up.
4Mongkawt kah tamdaengnah, hlangoek kah nueihbu loh kaimih hinglu te muep a cung sak coeng.
5Our soul hath passed through a torrent: perhaps our soul had passed through a water insupportable.
