Psalm 78

Bible Mutal (Kosraean)
JPS Tanakh (Jewish Publication Society, 1917)
1Mwet luk, porongo mwe luti luk, Ac lohang nu ke ma nga fahk.
1Maschil of Asaph. Give ear, O my people, to my teaching; incline your ears to the words of my mouth.
2Nga ac orekmakin kas lalmwetmet In aketeya ma lukma in pacl somla,
2I will open my mouth with a parable; I will utter dark sayings concerning days of old;
3Ke ma su kut lohng ac etu, Su mwet matu lasr elos srumun nu sesr.
3That which we have heard and known, and our fathers have told us,
4Kut ac fah tia okanla ma inge liki tulik natusr; Kut ac fah fahkak nu sin fwil tok uh Ke ku lun LEUM GOD ac orekma yohk lal Ac ma wolana su El oru.
4We will not hide from their children, telling to the generation to come the praises of the LORD, and His strength, and His wondrous works that He hath done.
5El sang ma sap nu sin mwet Israel Ac ma sap ku nu sin fwil natul Jacob. El sapkin nu sin mwet matu lasr Tuh elos in luti ma sap lal nu sin tulik natulos.
5For He established a testimony in Jacob, and appointed a law in Israel, which He commanded our fathers, that they should make them known to their children;
6Tuh fwil se tok uh in etu ke ma inge Ac elos in tafwela pac nu sin tulik natulos.
6That the generation to come might know them, even the children that should be born; who should arise and tell them to their children,
7Fin ouinge, elos fah oayapa filiya lulalfongi lalos in God Ac tia mulkunla orekma lal, A elos fah akos ma sap lal pacl e nukewa.
7That they might put their confidence in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep His commandments;
8Elos ac fah tia oana mwet matu lalos meet ah, Su seakos ac likkeke, Ac lulalfongi lalos tiana ku, Ac elos tia nunak pwaye nu sin God.
8And might not be as their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation; a generation that set not their heart aright, and whose spirit was not stedfast with God.
9Mwet Ephraim elos tuh us pisr ac sukan pisr natulos A elos kaingla in len in mweun.
9The children of Ephraim were as archers handling the bow, that turned back in the day of battle.
10Elos tia liyaung wuleang lalos nu sin God, Ac elos srangesr akos ma sap lal.
10They kept not the covenant of God, and refused to walk in His law;
11Elos mulkunla orekma lal, Oayapa mwenmen su El oru ye mutalos.
11And they forgot His doings, and His wondrous works that He had shown them.
12God El oru ma usrnguk ye mutun mwet matu lalos In acn Zoan in facl Egypt.
12Marvellous things did He in the sight of their fathers, in the land of Egypt, in the field of Zoan.
13God El oralik meoa ac lela tuh elos in fahsr sasla; El oru tuh kof uh in tuyak oana eol.
13He cleaved the sea, and caused them to pass through; and He made the waters to stand as a heap.
14Ke len uh El kololos ke sie pukunyeng, Ac ke fong uh ke kalem ke e.
14By day also He led them with a cloud, and all the night with a light of fire.
15El foklalik eot uh yen mwesis Ac sang kof nimalos liki acn loal.
15He cleaved rocks in the wilderness, and gave them drink abundantly as out of the great deep.
16El oru tuh soko infacl srisrik in tuku ke eot uh me, Ac orala tuh kof uh soror oana soko infacl.
16He brought streams also out of the rock, and caused waters to run down like rivers.
17Tusruktu, elos srakna orekma koluk lain God, Ac elos lain El Su Fulatlana yen mwesis.
17Yet went they on still to sin against Him, to rebel against the Most High in the desert.
18Elos ke pacna srike God Ke elos sapkin tuh Elan kitalos ke mwe mongo elos lungse.
18And they tried God in their heart by asking food for their craving.
19Elos kaskas lain God ac fahk, “Ya God El ku in ase mwe mongo in acn mwesis uh?
19Yea, they spoke against God; they said: 'Can God prepare a table in the wilderness?
20Pwaye lah El puokya eot uh Ac kof uh kahkma. Na fuka, El ku pac in ase bread nasr Ac kite mwet lal ke ikwa?”
20Behold, He smote the rock, that waters gushed out, and streams overflowed; can He give bread also? or will He provide flesh for His people?'
21Ke ma inge LEUM GOD El kasrkusrak ke El lohng kas lalos. El akkeokye mwet lal ke e, Ac kasrkusrak lal kaclos yokelik,
21Therefore the LORD heard, and was wroth; and a fire was kindled against Jacob, and anger also went up against Israel;
22Mweyen wangin lulalfongi lalos in El, Ac elos tia lulalfongi lah El ac ku in molelosla.
22Because they believed not in God, and trusted not in His salvation.
23Na God El kaskas nu yen engyeng uh Ac sapkin tuh srungul we in ikakelik;
23And He commanded the skies above, and opened the doors of heaven;
24El sang wheat inkusrao me Ke El supwama manna nalos.
24And He caused manna to rain upon them for food, and gave them of the corn of heaven.
25Ouinge, mwet uh mongo ke mwe mongo nun lipufan, Ac God El supwama fal nu ke enenu lalos.
25Man did eat the bread of the mighty; He sent them provisions to the full.
26El oayapa oru tuh eng kutulap in tuhyak, Ac ke ku lal El purakak eng eir me.
26He caused the east wind to set forth in heaven; and by His power He brought on the south wind.
27Na El supweya won nu sin mwet lal, Pus oana puk weacn uh.
27He caused flesh also to rain upon them as the dust, and winged fowl as the sand of the seas;
28Won inge putati infulwen na nien aktuktuk lalos, Ac raunela lohm nuknuk selos.
28And He let it fall in the midst of their camp, round about their dwellings.
29Ouinge mwet uh mongo ac arulana kihp, Tuh God El sang nu selos fal nu ke enenu lalos.
29So they did eat, and were well filled; and He gave them that which they craved.
30Tusruktu, elos soenna muti ke kena lalos, Ac elos srakna mongo
30They were not estranged from their craving, their food was yet in their mouths,
31Ke God El kasrkusrak selos Ac uniya mukul su fokoko emeet lalos; Aok, mukul fusr su wo emeet sin mwet Israel.
31When the anger of God went up against them, and slew of the lustieth among them, and smote down the young men of Israel.
32Ne ouinge elos srakna oru ma koluk God El finne orek mwenmen nu selos, ac elos srakna tia lulalfongel.
32For all this they sinned still, and believed not in His wondrous works.
33Ke ma inge God El aksafye len lalos oana lusen mong se; In kitin pacl na El arulana kunausla moul lalos.
33Therefore He ended their days as a breath, and their years in terror.
34Pacl nukewa ma God El ac onela kutu selos Na mwet lula uh ac forla nu sel, Elos ac auliyak ac pre ke kuiyalos nufon.
34When He slew them, then they would inquire after Him, and turn back and seek God earnestly.
35Elos esamak lah God El nien molela lalos, Ac El Su Kulana El tuku kasrelos.
35And they remembered that God was their Rock, and the Most High God their redeemer.
36Tusruktu kas nukewa lalos kikiap — Tiana pwaye ma elos fahk.
36But they beguiled Him with their mouth, and lied unto Him with their tongue.
37Elos tia nunak pwaye nu sel; Elos tia inse pwaye nu ke wuleang lalos nu sel.
37For their heart was not stedfast with Him, neither were they faithful in His covenant.
38Tusruktu, God El pakomuta mwet lal. El nunak munas ke ma koluk lalos Ac tia kunauselosla. Pacl pus El sruokya mulat lal lukelos, Ac kutongya kasrkusrak lal.
38But He, being full of compassion, forgiveth iniquity, and destroyeth not; yea, many a time doth He turn His anger away, and doth not stir up all His wrath.
39El esam lah mwet inge elos mwet moul in ikwa, Moul lalos oana eng uh ke ac tuhwot ac tia folok.
39So He remembered that they were but flesh, a wind that passeth away, and cometh not again.
40Pus na pacl elos aktoasrye God yen mwesis, Oayapa pus na pacl elos aksupwaryal.
40How oft did they rebel against Him in the wilderness, and grieve Him in the desert!
41Pus na pacl elos srike God Ac akkeokye insien God Mutal lun Israel.
41And still again they tried God, and set bounds to the Holy One of Israel.
42Elos mulkunla ku lulap lal Ac len se El tuh molelosla liki mwet lokoalok lalos,
42They remembered not His hand, nor the day when He redeemed them from the adversary.
43Ac orala ma ku ac usrnguk In acn Zoan in facl Egypt.
43How He set His signs in Egypt, and His wonders in the field of Zoan;
44El ekulla infacl we nu ke srah Na wangin kof mwet Egypt in nim.
44And turned their rivers into blood, so that they could not drink their streams.
45El supwala un loang nu inmasrlolos, mwe akkeokyalos, Ac frog in kunausla acn selos.
45He sent among them swarms of flies, which devoured them; and frogs, which destroyed them.
46El supwala locust in kangla fokinsak sunalos Ac in kunausla ima lalos.
46He gave also their increase unto the caterpillar, and their labour unto the locust.
47El kunausla ima grape lalos ke af yohk kosra, Ac kunausla sak fig ke aunfong oyohu.
47He destroyed their vines with hail, and their sycamore-trees with frost.
48El uniya cow natulos ke af yohk kosra, Ac un kosro natulos ke sarom.
48He gave over their cattle also to the hail, and their flocks to fiery bolts.
49El srunglulos Ke kasrkusrak ac mulat lal, Oana sie un lipufan su tuku in use misa.
49He sent forth upon them the fierceness of His anger, wrath, and indignation, and trouble, a sending of messengers of evil.
50El tia sruokya mulat lal Ku molela moul lalos, A El onelos ke mwe akkeok.
50He levelled a path for His anger; He spared not their soul from death, but gave their life over to the pestilence;
51El uniya wounse nukewa In sou nukewa lun mwet Egypt.
51And smote all the first-born in Egypt, the first-fruits of their strength in the tents of Ham;
52Na El kolla mwet lal oana sie shepherd, Ac pwanulos sasla yen mwesis.
52But He made His own people to go forth like sheep, and guided them in the wilderness like a flock.
53El kololos in misla ac elos tia sangeng, A meoa tuku ac afunla mwet lokoalok lalos.
53And He led them safely, and they feared not; but the sea overwhelmed their enemies.
54El kololos nu ke acn mutal sel, Nu ke eol we su El sifacna eisla.
54And He brought them to His holy border, to the mountain, which His right hand had gotten.
55El lusak mwet in facl sac ke mwet lal elos utyak Ac El kitalik acn selos nu sin sruf lun Israel, Ac sang lohm sin mwet we nu sin mwet lal.
55He drove out the nations also before them, and allotted them for an inheritance by line, and made the tribes of Israel to dwell in their tents.
56Tusruktu, elos tuyak lain God Kulana, Ac kena sifilpa srikal. Elos tia akos ma sap lal,
56Yet they tried and provoked God, the Most High, and kept not His testimonies;
57A elos forla liki God ac tia pwaye nunak lalos nu sel, oapana mwet matu lalos meet ah; Elos sesuwos oana soko sukan pisr kururu.
57But turned back, and dealt treacherously like their fathers; they were turned aside like a deceitful bow.
58Elos arulana akkasrkusrakye God ke nien alu lalos Ac ke ma sruloala lalos.
58For they provoked Him with their high places, and moved Him to jealousy with their graven images.
59God El arulana mulat ke El liye ma inge, Ac El sisla na pwaye mwet Israel.
59God heard, and was wroth, and He greatly abhorred Israel;
60God El som liki lohm nuknuk sel in Shiloh, Lohm se su El muta loac inmasrlosr.
60And He forsook the tabernacle of Shiloh, the tent which He had made to dwell among men;
61El lela tuh mwet lokoalok lasr in sruokya Tuptup in Wuleang, Su akilenyen ku ac wolana lal.
61And delivered His strength into captivity, and His glory into the adversary's hand.
62El arulana toasr sin mwet lal Ac El lela tuh elos in anwuki sin mwet lokoalok lalos.
62He gave His people over also unto the sword; and was wroth with His inheritance.
63Mukul fusr elos misa ke mweun, Ac mutan fusr uh wangin mwet elos in payuk se.
63Fire devoured their young men; and their virgins had no marriage-song.
64Mwet tol elos anwuki, Na tia lela tuh katinmas kialos in eoksra.
64Their priests fell by the sword; and their widows made no lamentation.
65Na Leum El sifil ngutalik oana mwet se su motul ngutalik — El oana sie mukul fokoko su pirikyukyak ke sripen wain.
65Then the Lord awaked as one asleep, like a mighty man recovering from wine.
66Na El ukwauk mwet lokoalok ac kutangulosla, Pwanang elos mwekinla nwe tok.
66And He smote His adversaries backward; He put upon them a perpetual reproach.
67Tusruk El sisla sruf lal Joseph, Ac El tia sulela sruf lal Ephraim.
67Moreover He abhorred the tent of Joseph, and chose not the tribe of Ephraim;
68A El sulela sruf lal Judah, Oayapa Eol Zion, su El arulana lungse.
68But chose the tribe of Judah, the mount Zion which He loved.
69El musaela Tempul lal ingo, In oana lohm sel inkusrao. El oru in okak ac ku, oana faclu, Su oakwuki nwe tok.
69And He built His sanctuary like the heights, like the earth which He hath founded for ever.
70God El sulella David, mwet kulansap lal, Su El usalu liki inima,
70He chose David also His servant, and took him from the sheepfolds;
71Acn el muta liyaung sheep we, Ac El oru tuh elan tokosra fin Israel — Elan oana sie mwet shepherd lun mwet lun God.
71From following the ewes that give suck He brought him, to be shepherd over Jacob His people, and Israel His inheritance.
72Ouinge David el liyalosyang ke inse pwaye Ac ke pah in nunak lal, el kololos.
72So he shepherded them according to the integrity of his heart; and lead them by the skilfulness of his hands.
