1Then Job answered and said:
1โยบจึงตอบว่า
2Even to-day is my complaint bitter; my hand is become heavy because of my groaning.
2“แม้วันนี้ ผมก็ยังร้องทุกข์อย่างขัดขืน มือพระองค์ยังกดหนักทั้งที่ผมคร่ำครวญ
3Oh that I knew where I might find Him, that I might come even to His seat!
3ถ้าผมรู้ว่าจะหาพระองค์ได้ที่ไหนก็คงดี! ถ้าไปถึงที่ประทับของพระองค์ได้
4I would order my cause before Him, and fill my mouth with arguments.
4ผมจะเตรียมคดีต่อหน้าพระองค์ ให้ปากผมเต็มด้วยข้อโต้แย้ง
5I would know the words which He would answer me, and understand what He would say unto me.
5จะได้รู้คำที่พระองค์ตอบ เข้าใจสิ่งที่พระองค์บอก
6Would He contend with me in His great power? Nay; but He would give heed unto me.
6พระองค์จะใช้อำนาจมหาศาลต่อสู้กับผมหรือ? ไม่ พระองค์จะฟังผม
7There the upright might reason with Him; so should I be delivered for ever from my Judge.
7ที่นั่นคนซื่อตรงจะโต้แย้งเหตุผลกับพระองค์ได้ ผมจึงจะพ้นจากผู้ตัดสินตลอดไป
8Behold, I go forward, but He is not there, and backward, but I cannot perceive Him;
8“ถ้าผมไปตะวันออก พระองค์ก็ไม่อยู่ ไปตะวันตก ก็หาพระองค์ไม่พบ
9On the left hand, when He doth work, but I cannot behold Him, He turneth Himself to the right hand, but I cannot see Him.
9พระองค์ทำงานทางเหนือ แต่ผมมองไม่เห็น พระองค์หันไปทางใต้ แต่ผมก็ไม่เห็นพระองค์แม้เพียงแวบเดียว
10For He knoweth the way that I take; when He hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.
10แต่พระองค์รู้ทางที่ผมเดิน เมื่อทดสอบแล้ว ผมจะออกมาเหมือนทองคำ
11My foot hath held fast to His steps, His way have I kept, and turned not aside.
11เท้าผมยึดก้าวของพระองค์ไว้ รักษาทางของพระองค์ ไม่หันออกไป
12I have not gone back from the commandment of His lips; I have treasured up the words of His mouth more than my necessary food.
12ผมไม่ถอยจากคำสั่งที่ริมฝีปากพระองค์พูด เก็บถ้อยคำจากปากพระองค์ไว้ยิ่งกว่าอาหารที่จำเป็น
13But He is at one with Himself, and who can turn Him? And what His soul desireth, even that He doeth.
13แต่พระองค์ยืนอยู่ผู้เดียว ใครจะขัดขวางได้? พระองค์ปรารถนาสิ่งใด ก็ทำสิ่งนั้น
14For He will perform that which is appointed for me; and many such things are with Him.
14พระองค์ทำสิ่งที่กำหนดไว้ให้ผม และยังมีสิ่งเช่นนี้อีกมากอยู่กับพระองค์
15Therefore am I affrighted at His presence; when I consider, I am afraid of Him.
15ผมจึงหวาดกลัวเมื่ออยู่ต่อหน้าพระองค์ พอคิดถึง ก็กลัวพระองค์
16Yea, God hath made my heart faint, and the Almighty hath affrighted me;
16พระเจ้าทำให้ใจผมหมดแรง พระผู้ทรงฤทธิ์ทำให้ผมหวาดผวา
17Because I was not cut off before the darkness, neither did He cover the thick darkness from my face.
17เพราะผมไม่ได้ถูกกำจัดก่อนความมืดมา พระองค์ไม่ได้ซ่อนความมืดทึบให้พ้นหน้าผม
