1THE WORD of the LORD that came unto Hosea the son of Beeri, in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash, king of Israel.
1พระยาห์เวห์กล่าวกับโฮเชยา ลูกชายของเบเอรี ในสมัยที่อุสซียาห์ โยธาม อาหัส และเฮเซคียาห์เป็นกษัตริย์แห่งยูดาห์ และในสมัยที่เยโรโบอัม ลูกชายของโยอาช เป็นกษัตริย์แห่งอิสราเอล
2When the LORD spoke at first with Hosea, the LORD said unto Hosea: 'Go, take unto thee a wife of harlotry and children of harlotry; for the land doth commit great harlotry, departing from the LORD.'
2เมื่อพระยาห์เวห์เริ่มกล่าวผ่านโฮเชยา พระองค์บอกโฮเชยาว่า “ไปแต่งงานกับหญิงที่ค้าประเวณี และมีลูกแห่งความไม่ซื่อสัตย์ เพราะแผ่นดินนี้เป็นชู้อย่างร้ายแรง ละทิ้งพระยาห์เวห์”
3So he went and took Gomer the daughter of Diblaim; and she conceived, and bore him a son.
3เขาจึงไปแต่งงานกับโกเมอร์ ลูกสาวของดิบลาอิม เธอตั้งครรภ์และคลอดลูกชายให้เขา
4And the LORD said unto him: 'Call his name Jezreel; for yet a little while, and I will visit the blood of Jezreel upon the house of Jehu, and will cause to cease the kingdom of the house of Israel.
4พระยาห์เวห์บอกเขาว่า “ตั้งชื่อลูกว่า ยิสเรเอล เพราะอีกไม่นาน เราจะลงโทษราชวงศ์เยฮูให้ชดใช้การนองเลือดที่ยิสเรเอล และจะทำให้อาณาจักรของวงศ์วานอิสราเอลสิ้นสุดลง
5And it shall come to pass at that day, that I will break the bow of Israel in the valley of Jezreel.'
5วันนั้นเราจะหักคันธนูของอิสราเอลในหุบเขายิสเรเอล”
6And she conceived again, and bore a daughter. And He said unto him: 'Call her name Lo-ruhamah; for I will no more have compassion upon the house of Israel, that I should in any wise pardon them.
6เธอตั้งครรภ์อีกและคลอดลูกสาว แล้วพระองค์บอกเขาว่า “ตั้งชื่อลูกว่า โลรูฮามาห์ เพราะเราจะไม่เมตตาวงศ์วานอิสราเอลอีก และจะไม่ให้อภัยพวกเขาเลย
7But I will have compassion upon the house of Judah, and will save them by the LORD their God, and will not save them by bow, nor by sword, nor by battle, nor by horses, nor by horsemen.'
7แต่เราจะเมตตาวงศ์วานยูดาห์ และจะช่วยพวกเขาให้รอดโดยพระยาห์เวห์ พระเจ้าของพวกเขา เราจะไม่ช่วยให้รอดด้วยธนู ดาบ การสู้รบ ม้า หรือทหารม้า”
8Now when she had weaned Lo-ruhamah, she conceived, and bore a son.
8เมื่อเธอให้โลรูฮามาห์หย่านมแล้ว เธอก็ตั้งครรภ์และคลอดลูกชาย
9And He said: 'Call his name Lo-ammi; for ye are not My people, and I will not be yours.'
9พระองค์กล่าวว่า “ตั้งชื่อลูกว่า โลอัมมี เพราะพวกเจ้าไม่ใช่คนของเรา และเราจะไม่เป็นของพวกเจ้า
10(2-1) Yet the number of the children of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured nor numbered; and it shall come to pass that, instead of that which was said unto them: 'Ye are not My people', it shall be said unto them: 'Ye are the children of the living God.'
10ถึงอย่างนั้น คนอิสราเอลจะมีจำนวนเหมือนเม็ดทรายริมทะเล มากจนวัดหรือนับไม่ได้ และในที่ที่เคยมีคนบอกพวกเขาว่า ‘พวกเจ้าไม่ใช่คนของเรา’ พวกเขาจะได้ชื่อว่า ‘ลูกชายของพระเจ้าผู้มีชีวิต’
11(2-2) And the children of Judah and the children of Israel shall be gathered together, and they shall appoint themselves one head, and shall go up out of the land; for great shall be the day of Jezreel.
11คนยูดาห์และคนอิสราเอลจะมารวมกัน พวกเขาจะตั้งผู้นำคนเดียวให้ตน และจะออกจากแผ่นดินขึ้นไป เพราะวันแห่งยิสเรเอลจะยิ่งใหญ่
