1Hear the word of the LORD, ye children of Israel! for the LORD hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land.
1คนอิสราเอล ฟังถ้อยคำของพระยาห์เวห์ เพราะพระยาห์เวห์มีข้อกล่าวหาต่อผู้ที่อยู่ในแผ่นดินนี้ “ในแผ่นดินไม่มีใครสัตย์จริง ไม่มีใครทำดี ไม่มีใครรู้จักพระเจ้า
2Swearing and lying, and killing, and stealing, and committing adultery! they break all bounds, and blood toucheth blood.
2มีแต่การสาปแช่ง โกหก ฆ่าคน ขโมย และเป็นชู้ พวกเขาล้ำเส้น เลือดนองนำไปสู่เลือดนองอีก
3Therefore doth the land mourn, and every one that dwelleth therein doth languish, with the beasts of the field, and the fowls of heaven; yea, the fishes of the sea also are taken away.
3ดังนั้น แผ่นดินจะไว้ทุกข์ ทุกคนที่อยู่ที่นั่นจะร่วงโรย พร้อมกับสิ่งมีชีวิตทั้งหมดที่นั่น ทั้งสัตว์ในท้องทุ่งและนกในท้องฟ้า แม้แต่ปลาในทะเลก็จะตาย
4Yet let no man strive, neither let any man reprove; for thy people are as they that strive with the priest.
4แต่ห้ามใครยกข้อกล่าวหาหรือกล่าวโทษใคร เพราะคนของเจ้าเป็นเหมือนผู้ที่ยกข้อกล่าวหาต่อปุโรหิต
5Therefore shalt thou stumble in the day, and the prophet also shall stumble with thee in the night; and I will destroy thy mother.
5เจ้าจะสะดุดล้มในเวลากลางวัน ผู้เผยพระวจนะก็จะสะดุดล้มกับเจ้าในเวลากลางคืน และเราจะทำลายแม่ของเจ้า
6My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge; because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to Me; seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I also will forget thy children.
6คนของเราถูกทำลายเพราะขาดความรู้ เพราะเจ้าปฏิเสธความรู้ เราก็จะปฏิเสธเจ้า ไม่ให้เจ้าเป็นปุโรหิตของเรา เพราะเจ้าลืมกฎหมายของพระเจ้าของเจ้า เราก็จะลืมลูกของเจ้า
7The more they were increased, the more they sinned against Me; I will change their glory into shame.
7ยิ่งพวกเขามีจำนวนมากขึ้น ก็ยิ่งทำบาปต่อเรา เราจะเปลี่ยนเกียรติของพวกเขาให้เป็นความอับอาย
8They feed on the sin of My people, and set their heart on their iniquity.
8พวกเขากินบาปของคนของเราเป็นอาหาร และใจจดจ่ออยู่กับความผิดของคนเหล่านั้น
9And it is like people, like priest; and I will punish him for his ways, and will recompense him his doings.
9คนทั่วไปกับปุโรหิตจะลงเอยไม่ต่างกัน เราจะลงโทษพวกเขาตามวิถีที่พวกเขาเดิน และตอบแทนตามการกระทำ
10And they shall eat, and not have enough, they shall commit harlotry, and shall not increase; because they have left off to take heed to the LORD.
10พวกเขาจะกิน แต่ไม่อิ่ม จะค้าประเวณี แต่จำนวนจะไม่เพิ่มขึ้น เพราะพวกเขาเลิกฟังพระยาห์เวห์
11Harlotry, wine, and new wine take away the heart.
11การค้าประเวณี เหล้าองุ่น และเหล้าองุ่นใหม่ ทำให้คนสิ้นความเข้าใจ
12My people ask counsel at their stock, and their staff declareth unto them; for the spirit of harlotry hath caused them to err, and they have gone astray from under their God.
12คนของเราขอคำปรึกษาจากรูปเคารพไม้ และตอบท่อนไม้ จิตใจที่มุ่งค้าประเวณีพาพวกเขาหลงทาง พวกเขาไม่ซื่อสัตย์ต่อพระเจ้าของตน
13They sacrifice upon the tops of the mountains, and offer upon the hills, under oaks and poplars and terebinths, because the shadow thereof is good; therefore your daughters commit harlotry, and your daughters-in-law commit adultery.
13พวกเขาถวายเครื่องบูชาบนยอดเขา เผาเครื่องหอมบนเนิน ใต้ต้นโอ๊ก ต้นป็อปลาร์ และต้นเทเรบินธ์ เพราะร่มเงาที่นั่นดี เพราะฉะนั้น ลูกสาวของพวกเจ้าจึงค้าประเวณี และเจ้าสาวของพวกเจ้าก็เป็นชู้
14I will not punish your daughters when they commit harlotry, nor your daughters-in-law when they commit adultery; for they themselves consort with lewd women, and they sacrifice with harlots; and the people that is without understanding is distraught.
14เราจะไม่ลงโทษลูกสาวของพวกเจ้าเมื่อพวกเธอค้าประเวณี หรือเจ้าสาวของพวกเจ้าเมื่อพวกเธอเป็นชู้ เพราะพวกผู้ชายก็คบหาหญิงค้าประเวณี และถวายเครื่องบูชาร่วมกับหญิงค้าประเวณีประจำศาสนสถาน คนที่ไร้ความเข้าใจจึงจะพินาศ
15Though thou, Israel, play the harlot, yet let not Judah become guilty; and come not ye unto Gilgal, neither go ye up to Beth-aven, nor swear: 'As the LORD liveth.'
15อิสราเอล แม้เจ้าจะค้าประเวณี ก็อย่าให้ยูดาห์ทำผิดด้วย อย่ามาที่กิลกาล อย่าขึ้นไปที่เบธอาเวน และอย่าสาบานโดยอ้างพระยาห์เวห์ผู้มีชีวิต
16For Israel is stubborn like a stubborn heifer; now shall the LORD feed them as a lamb in a large place?
16อิสราเอลดื้อรั้นเหลือเกิน เหมือนวัวสาวที่ดื้อดึง แล้วพระยาห์เวห์จะเลี้ยงพวกเขาเหมือนลูกแกะในทุ่งหญ้าได้อย่างไร?
17Ephraim is joined to idols; let him alone.
17เอฟราอิมผูกพันอยู่กับรูปเคารพ ปล่อยเขาไว้ตามลำพัง!
18When their carouse is over, they take to harlotry; her rulers deeply love dishonour.
18เครื่องดื่มของพวกเขาเปรี้ยวเสียแล้ว พวกเขาค้าประเวณีไม่หยุด บรรดาผู้ปกครองของเธอรักวิถีอันน่าอับอายของตนเหลือเกิน
19The wind hath bound her up in her skirts; and they shall be ashamed because of their sacrifices.
19ลมโอบเธอไว้ในปีกของมัน และพวกเขาจะผิดหวังเพราะเครื่องบูชาของตน”
