1IN THE beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
1เมื่อแรกเริ่ม พระเจ้า สร้างฟ้าและแผ่นดิน
2Now the earth was unformed and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep; and the spirit of God hovered over the face of the waters.
2แผ่นดินยังไร้รูปร่างและว่างเปล่า ความมืดปกคลุมผิวห้วงน้ำลึก และพระวิญญาณของพระเจ้าลอยอยู่เหนือผิวน้ำ
3And God said: 'Let there be light.' And there was light.
3พระเจ้ากล่าวว่า “ให้มีความสว่าง” แล้วความสว่างก็เกิดขึ้น
4And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness.
4พระเจ้าเห็นว่าความสว่างนั้นดี แล้วแยกความสว่างออกจากความมืด
5And God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, one day.
5พระเจ้าเรียกความสว่างว่า “กลางวัน” และเรียกความมืดว่า “กลางคืน” ค่ำลง แล้วเช้าก็มาถึง นับเป็นวันแรก
6And God said: 'Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.'
6พระเจ้ากล่าวว่า “ให้มีผืนฟ้าอยู่กลางน้ำ เพื่อแยกน้ำออกจากกัน”
7And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament; and it was so.
7พระเจ้าทำผืนฟ้าขึ้น และแยกน้ำที่อยู่ใต้ผืนฟ้าออกจากน้ำที่อยู่เหนือผืนฟ้า แล้วก็เป็นเช่นนั้น
8And God called the firmament Heaven. And there was evening and there was morning, a second day.
8พระเจ้าเรียกผืนฟ้านั้นว่า “ท้องฟ้า” ค่ำลง แล้วเช้าก็มาถึง นับเป็นวันที่สอง
9And God said: 'Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear.' And it was so.
9พระเจ้ากล่าวว่า “ให้น้ำที่อยู่ใต้ท้องฟ้ามารวมกันในที่เดียว และให้พื้นดินแห้งปรากฏขึ้น” แล้วก็เป็นเช่นนั้น
10And God called the dry land Earth, and the gathering together of the waters called He Seas; and God saw that it was good.
10พระเจ้าเรียกพื้นดินแห้งว่า “แผ่นดิน” และเรียกน้ำที่รวมกันว่า “ทะเล” พระเจ้าเห็นว่าดี
11And God said: 'Let the earth put forth grass, herb yielding seed, and fruit-tree bearing fruit after its kind, wherein is the seed thereof, upon the earth.' And it was so.
11พระเจ้ากล่าวว่า “ให้หญ้า พืชที่ให้เมล็ด และไม้ผลที่ออกผลตามชนิดของมันพร้อมเมล็ดในผล งอกขึ้นจากแผ่นดิน” แล้วก็เป็นเช่นนั้น
12And the earth brought forth grass, herb yielding seed after its kind, and tree bearing fruit, wherein is the seed thereof, after its kind; and God saw that it was good.
12จากแผ่นดินก็งอกขึ้นเป็นหญ้า พืชที่ให้เมล็ดตามชนิดของมัน และไม้ผลที่ออกผลตามชนิดของมันพร้อมเมล็ดในผล พระเจ้าเห็นว่าดี
13And there was evening and there was morning, a third day.
13ค่ำลง แล้วเช้าก็มาถึง นับเป็นวันที่สาม
14And God said: 'Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days and years;
14พระเจ้ากล่าวว่า “ให้มีดวงสว่างอยู่บนผืนท้องฟ้าเพื่อแยกกลางวันออกจากกลางคืน ให้ดวงเหล่านั้นเป็นเครื่องหมายบอกฤดูกาล วัน และปี
15and let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth.' And it was so.
15และให้เป็นดวงสว่างบนผืนท้องฟ้าเพื่อส่องแสงลงมายังแผ่นดิน” แล้วก็เป็นเช่นนั้น
16And God made the two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night; and the stars.
16พระเจ้าทำดวงสว่างใหญ่สองดวงขึ้น ดวงที่ใหญ่กว่าให้ปกครองกลางวัน และดวงที่เล็กกว่าให้ปกครองกลางคืน รวมทั้งดวงดาวทั้งหลายด้วย
17And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,
17พระเจ้าวางดวงเหล่านั้นไว้บนผืนท้องฟ้าให้ส่องแสงลงมายังแผ่นดิน
18and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness; and God saw that it was good.
18ให้ปกครองกลางวันและกลางคืน และแยกความสว่างออกจากความมืด พระเจ้าเห็นว่าดี
19And there was evening and there was morning, a fourth day.
19ค่ำลง แล้วเช้าก็มาถึง นับเป็นวันที่สี่
20And God said: 'Let the waters swarm with swarms of living creatures, and let fowl fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.'
20พระเจ้ากล่าวว่า “ให้น้ำเต็มไปด้วยสิ่งมีชีวิต และให้นกบินเหนือแผ่นดินไปตามผืนท้องฟ้า”
21And God created the great sea-monsters, and every living creature that creepeth, wherewith the waters swarmed, after its kind, and every winged fowl after its kind; and God saw that it was good.
21พระเจ้าสร้างสัตว์ทะเลขนาดใหญ่ สัตว์ที่เคลื่อนไหวอยู่ในน้ำทุกชนิดตามชนิดของมัน และนกมีปีกทุกชนิดตามชนิดของมัน น้ำก็เต็มไปด้วยสิ่งมีชีวิตเหล่านั้น พระเจ้าเห็นว่าดี
22And God blessed them, saying: 'Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.'
22พระเจ้าอวยพรพวกมันว่า “จงออกลูกดกและเพิ่มจำนวนจนเต็มน้ำในทะเล และให้นกเพิ่มจำนวนบนแผ่นดิน”
23And there was evening and there was morning, a fifth day.
23ค่ำลง แล้วเช้าก็มาถึง นับเป็นวันที่ห้า
24And God said: 'Let the earth bring forth the living creature after its kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after its kind.' And it was so.
24พระเจ้ากล่าวว่า “ให้แผ่นดินก่อเกิดสิ่งมีชีวิตตามชนิดของมัน ทั้งปศุสัตว์ สัตว์ที่คลานไปตามพื้น และสัตว์ป่าตามชนิดของมัน” แล้วก็เป็นเช่นนั้น
25And God made the beast of the earth after its kind, and the cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the ground after its kind; and God saw that it was good.
25พระเจ้าทำสัตว์ป่าขึ้นตามชนิดของมัน ปศุสัตว์ตามชนิดของมัน และสัตว์ทุกชนิดที่คลานไปตามพื้นดินตามชนิดของมัน พระเจ้าเห็นว่าดี
26And God said: 'Let us make man in our image, after our likeness; and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.'
26พระเจ้ากล่าวว่า “ให้เราสร้างมนุษย์ตามภาพของเรา ให้มีลักษณะคล้ายเรา แล้วให้พวกเขามีอำนาจเหนือปลาในทะเล นกบนท้องฟ้า ปศุสัตว์ แผ่นดินทั้งหมด และสัตว์ทุกชนิดที่คลานไปบนแผ่นดิน”
27And God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him; male and female created He them.
27พระเจ้าสร้างมนุษย์ตามภาพของพระองค์ พระองค์สร้างมนุษย์ตามภาพของพระเจ้า และสร้างทั้งชายและหญิง
28And God blessed them; and God said unto them: 'Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that creepeth upon the earth.'
28พระเจ้าอวยพรพวกเขา และกล่าวว่า “จงมีลูกดก เพิ่มจำนวนจนเต็มแผ่นดิน และทำให้แผ่นดินอยู่ใต้อำนาจของพวกเจ้า จงปกครองปลาในทะเล นกบนท้องฟ้า และสิ่งมีชีวิตทุกชนิดที่เคลื่อนไหวบนแผ่นดิน”
29And God said: 'Behold, I have given you every herb yielding seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed — to you it shall be for food;
29พระเจ้ากล่าวว่า “ดูสิ เรามอบพืชทุกชนิดที่ให้เมล็ดทั่วทั้งแผ่นดินแก่พวกเจ้า และต้นไม้ทุกต้นที่ออกผลซึ่งมีเมล็ดอยู่ในผล สิ่งเหล่านี้จะเป็นอาหารของพวกเจ้า
30and to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is a living soul, I have given every green herb for food.' And it was so.
30ส่วนสัตว์ทุกชนิดบนแผ่นดิน นกทุกชนิดบนท้องฟ้า และทุกสิ่งที่คลานไปบนแผ่นดินและมีชีวิต เราให้พืชเขียวทุกชนิดเป็นอาหาร” แล้วก็เป็นเช่นนั้น
31And God saw every thing that He had made, and, behold, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day.
31พระเจ้ามองดูทุกสิ่งที่พระองค์ทำไว้ และปรากฏว่าทั้งหมดนั้นดีมาก ค่ำลง แล้วเช้าก็มาถึง นับเป็นวันที่หก
