1And the life of Sarah was a hundred and seven and twenty years; these were the years of the life of Sarah.
1ซาราห์มีอายุรวม 127 ปี นี่คือจำนวนปีที่เธอมีชีวิตอยู่
2And Sarah died in Kiriatharba — the same is Hebron — in the land of Canaan; and Abraham came to mourn for Sarah, and to weep for her.
2ซาราห์เสียชีวิตที่คีริยาทอารบาซึ่งเรียกอีกชื่อว่าเฮโบรนในดินแดนคานาอัน อับราฮัมมาไว้ทุกข์และร้องไห้ให้ซาราห์
3And Abraham rose up from before his dead, and spoke unto the children of Heth, saying:
3จากนั้นอับราฮัมลุกจากศพของภรรยาไปพูดกับชาวเฮทว่า
4'I am a stranger and a sojourner with you: give me a possession of a burying-place with you, that I may bury my dead out of my sight.'
4“ผมเป็นคนต่างถิ่นที่มาอาศัยอยู่ท่ามกลางพวกท่านขอให้พวกท่านมอบที่สำหรับฝังศพให้ผมเป็นที่ครอบครองสักแห่งเพื่อผมจะได้นำผู้ตายของผมไปฝังให้ลับจากสายตา”
5And the children of Heth answered Abraham, saying unto him:
5ชาวเฮทตอบอับราฮัมว่า
6'Hear us, my lord: thou art a mighty prince among us; in the choice of our sepulchres bury thy dead; none of us shall withhold from thee his sepulchre, but that thou mayest bury thy dead.'
6“ท่านฟังพวกเราเถอะ ท่านเป็นประมุขของพระเจ้าท่ามกลางพวกเรา ฝังผู้ตายของท่านในสุสานที่ดีที่สุดของพวกเราได้เลย ไม่มีใครในพวกเราจะหวงสุสานไม่ให้ท่านใช้ฝังผู้ตาย”
7And Abraham rose up, and bowed down to the people of the land, even to the children of Heth.
7อับราฮัมลุกขึ้นและก้มคำนับชาวเมืองคือชาวเฮท
8And he spoke with them, saying: 'If it be your mind that I should bury my dead out of my sight, hear me, and entreat for me to Ephron the son of Zohar,
8แล้วพูดว่า“ถ้าพวกท่านเห็นชอบให้ผมฝังผู้ตายของผมให้ลับจากสายตาก็ขอฟังผมและช่วยพูดกับเอโฟรนลูกชายของโศหาร์ให้ด้วย
9that he may give me the cave of Machpelah, which he hath, which is in the end of his field; for the full price let him give it to me in the midst of you for a possession of a burying-place.'
9ขอให้เขาขายถ้ำมัคเปลาห์ที่เป็นของเขาตรงปลายทุ่งให้ผมให้เขาขายต่อหน้าพวกท่านในราคาเต็มเพื่อผมจะได้มีที่สำหรับฝังศพไว้ครอบครอง”
10Now Ephron was sitting in the midst of the children of Heth; and Ephron the Hittite answered Abraham in the hearing of the children of Heth, even of all that went in at the gate of his city, saying:
10เวลานั้นเอโฟรนนั่งอยู่ท่ามกลางชาวเฮท เอโฟรนชาวฮิตไทต์จึงตอบอับราฮัมให้ชาวเฮทและทุกคนที่เข้าประตูเมืองได้ยินว่า
11'Nay, my lord, hear me: the field give I thee, and the cave that is therein, I give it thee; in the presence of the sons of my people give I it thee; bury thy dead.'
11“ไม่ต้องท่านฟังผม ผมยกทุ่งให้ท่านและยกถ้ำที่อยู่ในทุ่งให้ด้วย ต่อหน้าคนในชนของผมผมยกให้ท่าน เชิญฝังผู้ตายของท่านเถอะ”
12And Abraham bowed down before the people of the land.
12อับราฮัมก้มคำนับต่อหน้าชาวเมือง
13And he spoke unto Ephron in the hearing of the people of the land, saying: 'But if thou wilt, I pray thee, hear me: I will give the price of the field; take it of me, and I will bury my dead there.'
13แล้วพูดกับเอโฟรนให้ชาวเมืองได้ยินว่า“ถ้าอย่างนั้นขอฟังผม ผมจะจ่ายราคาทุ่งให้ รับเงินจากผมเถอะแล้วผมจะฝังผู้ตายที่นั่น”
14And Ephron answered Abraham, saying unto him:
14เอโฟรนตอบอับราฮัมว่า
15'My lord, hearken unto me: a piece of land worth four hundred shekels of silver, what is that betwixt me and thee? bury therefore thy dead.'
15“ท่านฟังผมที่ดินนี้ราคาเงิน 400 เชเขล เงินเท่านี้ระหว่างเราสองคนจะนับว่าอะไรฝังผู้ตายของท่านเถอะ”
16And Abraham hearkened unto Ephron; and Abraham weighed to Ephron the silver, which he had named in the hearing of the children of Heth, four hundred shekels of silver, current money with the merchant.
16อับราฮัมตกลงตามคำของเอโฟรนและชั่งเงินให้ตามราคาที่เอโฟรนบอกต่อหน้าชาวเฮทคือเงิน 400 เชเขลตามมาตรฐานที่พ่อค้าใช้กัน
17So the field of Ephron, which was in Machpelah, which was before Mamre, the field, and the cave which was therein, and all the trees that were in the field, that were in all the border thereof round about, were made sure
17ดังนั้นทุ่งของเอโฟรนที่มัคเปลาห์ตรงข้ามมัมเรพร้อมถ้ำในทุ่งและต้นไม้ทุกต้นในทุ่งตลอดทั่วเขตของที่ดินจึงตกเป็นของอับราฮัม
18unto Abraham for a possession in the presence of the children of Heth, before all that went in at the gate of his city.
18เป็นที่ครอบครองของเขาต่อหน้าชาวเฮทและทุกคนที่เข้าประตูเมืองของเขา
19And after this, Abraham buried Sarah his wife in the cave of the field of Machpelah before Mamre — the same is Hebron — in the land of Canaan.
19หลังจากนั้นอับราฮัมฝังซาราห์ภรรยาในถ้ำที่ทุ่งมัคเปลาห์ตรงข้ามมัมเรซึ่งก็คือเฮโบรนในดินแดนคานาอัน
20And the field, and the cave that is therein, were made sure unto Abraham for a possession of a burying-place by the children of Heth.
20ชาวเฮทจึงมอบทุ่งกับถ้ำที่อยู่ในนั้นให้อับราฮัมเป็นที่ครอบครองสำหรับฝังศพ
