1疫病の後、主はモーセと祭司アロンの子エルアザルに告げられた。
1(25-19) And it came to pass after the plague, (26-1) that the LORD spoke unto Moses and unto Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest, saying:
2「イスラエルの子らの全会衆のうち、二十歳以上で、イスラエルの軍務に就くことのできる者を、父祖の家ごとに数えなさい。」
2'Take the sum of all the congregation of the children of Israel, from twenty years old and upward, by their fathers' houses, all that are able to go forth to war in Israel.'
3モーセと祭司エルアザルは、エリコの向かい、ヨルダン川のほとりのモアブの平野で、民に告げた。
3And Moses and Eleazar the priest spoke with them in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho, saying:
4「主がモーセに命じられたとおり、二十歳以上の者を数えなさい。」 エジプトの地から出たイスラエルの子らは次のとおりである。
4'Take the sum of the people, from twenty years old and upward, as the LORD commanded Moses and the children of Israel, that came forth out of the land of Egypt.'
5イスラエルの長子であるルベン。ルベンの子らは、ハノクからハノク人の氏族、パルからパル人の氏族、
5Reuben, the first-born of Israel: the sons of Reuben: of Hanoch, the family of the Hanochites; of Pallu, the family of the Palluites;
6ヘツロンからヘツロン人の氏族、カルミからカルミ人の氏族が出た。
6of Hezron, the family of the Hezronites; of Carmi, the family of the Carmites.
7これらがルベン人の氏族であり、数えられた者は四万三千七百三十人であった。
7These are the families of the Reubenites; and they that were numbered of them were forty and three thousand and seven hundred and thirty.
8パルの子はエリアブであった。
8And the sons of Pallu: Eliab.
9エリアブの子らはネムエル、ダタン、アビラムであった。このダタンとアビラムは会衆から選ばれた者であったが、コラの仲間とともにモーセとアロンに逆らい、主に逆らった。
9And the sons of Eliab: Nemuel, and Dathan, and Abiram. These are that Dathan and Abiram, the elect of the congregation, who strove against Moses and against Aaron in the company of Korah, when they strove against the LORD;
10地が口を開いて、コラとともに彼らをのみ込んだ。また火が二百五十人を焼き尽くし、その仲間は死んで、警告のしるしとなった。
10and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up together with Korah, when that company died; what time the fire devoured two hundred and fifty men, and they became a sign.
11しかし、コラの子らは死ななかった。
11Notwithstanding the sons of Korah died not.
12シメオンの子らの氏族は次のとおりである。ネムエルからネムエル人の氏族、ヤミンからヤミン人の氏族、ヤキンからヤキン人の氏族、
12The sons of Simeon after their families: of Nemuel, the family of the Nemuelites; of Jamin, the family of the Jaminites; of Jachin, the family of the Jachinites;
13ゼラからゼラ人の氏族、シャウルからシャウル人の氏族が出た。
13of Zerah, the family of the Zerahites; of Shaul, the family of the Shaulites.
14これらがシメオン人の氏族であり、二万二千二百人であった。
14These are the families of the Simeonites, twenty and two thousand and two hundred.
15ガドの子らの氏族は次のとおりである。ツェフォンからツェフォン人の氏族、ハギからハギ人の氏族、シュニからシュニ人の氏族、
15The sons of Gad after their families: of Zephon, the family of the Zephonites; of Haggi, the family of the Haggites; of Shuni, the family of the Shunites;
16オズニからオズニ人の氏族、エリからエリ人の氏族、
16of Ozni, the family of the Oznites; of Eri, the family of the Erites;
17アロドからアロド人の氏族、アレリからアレリ人の氏族が出た。
17of Arod, the family of the Arodites; of Areli, the family of the Arelites.
18これらがガドの子らの氏族であり、数えられた者は四万五百人であった。
18These are the families of the sons of Gad according to those that were numbered of them, forty thousand and five hundred.
19ユダの子らはエルとオナンであった。エルとオナンはカナンの地で死んだ。
19The sons of Judah: Er and Onan; and Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan.
20ユダの子らの氏族は次のとおりである。シェラからシェラ人の氏族、ペレツからペレツ人の氏族、ゼラからゼラ人の氏族が出た。
20And the sons of Judah after their families were: of Shelah, the family of the Shelanites; of Perez, the family of the Perezites; of Zerah, the family of the Zerahites.
21ペレツの子らは、ヘツロンからヘツロン人の氏族、ハムルからハムル人の氏族が出た。
21And the sons of Perez were: of Hezron, the family of the Hezronites; of Hamul, the family of the Hamulites.
22これらがユダの氏族であり、数えられた者は七万六千五百人であった。
22These are the families of Judah according to those that were numbered of them, threescore and sixteen thousand and five hundred.
23イッサカルの子らの氏族は次のとおりである。トラからトラ人の氏族、プワからプワ人の氏族、
23The sons of Issachar after their families: of Tola, the family of the Tolaites; of Puvah, the family of the Punites;
24ヤシュブからヤシュブ人の氏族、シムロンからシムロン人の氏族が出た。
24of Jashub, the family of the Jashubites; of Shimron, the family of the Shimronites.
25これらがイッサカルの氏族であり、数えられた者は六万四千三百人であった。
25These are the families of Issachar according to those that were numbered of them, threescore and four thousand and three hundred.
26ゼブルンの子らの氏族は次のとおりである。セレドからセレド人の氏族、エロンからエロン人の氏族、ヤフレエルからヤフレエル人の氏族が出た。
26The sons of Zebulun after their families: of Sered, the family of the Seredites; of Elon, the family of the Elonites; of Jahleel, the family of the Jahleelites.
27これらがゼブルン人の氏族であり、数えられた者は六万五百人であった。
27These are the families of the Zebulunites according to those that were numbered of them, threescore thousand and five hundred.
28ヨセフの子らの氏族は、マナセとエフライムであった。
28The sons of Joseph after their families: Manasseh and Ephraim.
29マナセの子らは、マキルからマキル人の氏族が出た。マキルはギルアデの父となった。ギルアデからギルアデ人の氏族が出た。
29The sons of Manasseh: of Machir, the family of the Machirites — and Machir begot Gilead; of Gilead, the family of the Gileadites.
30ギルアデの子らは次のとおりである。イエゼルからイエゼル人の氏族、ヘレクからヘレク人の氏族、
30These are the sons of Gilead: of Iezer, the family of the Iezerites; of Helek, the family of the Helekites;
31アスリエルからアスリエル人の氏族、シェケムからシェケム人の氏族、
31and of Asriel, the family of the Asrielites; and of Shechem, the family of the Shechemites;
32シェミダからシェミダ人の氏族、ヘフェルからヘフェル人の氏族が出た。
32and of Shemida, the family of the Shemidaites; and of Hepher, the family of the Hepherites.
33ヘフェルの子ゼロフェハデには息子がなく、娘だけであった。ゼロフェハデの娘たちの名は、マフラ、ノア、ホグラ、ミルカ、ティルツァであった。
33And Zelophehad the son of Hepher had no sons, but daughters; and the names of the daughters of Zelophehad were Mahlah, and Noah, Hoglah, Milcah, and Tirzah.
34これらがマナセの氏族であり、数えられた者は五万二千七百人であった。
34These are the families of Manasseh; and they that were numbered of them were fifty and two thousand and seven hundred.
35エフライムの子らの氏族は次のとおりである。シュテラからシュテラ人の氏族、ベケルからベケル人の氏族、タハンからタハン人の氏族が出た。
35These are the sons of Ephraim after their families: of Shuthelah, the family of the Shuthelahites; of Becher, the family of the Becherites; of Tahan, the family of the Tahanites.
36シュテラの子らは次のとおりである。エランからエラン人の氏族が出た。
36And these are the sons of Shuthelah: of Eran, the family of the Eranites.
37これらがエフライムの子らの氏族であり、数えられた者は三万二千五百人であった。これらがヨセフの子らの氏族である。
37These are the families of the sons of Ephraim according to those that were numbered of them, thirty and two thousand and five hundred. These are the sons of Joseph after their families.
38ベニヤミンの子らの氏族は次のとおりである。ベラからベラ人の氏族、アシュベルからアシュベル人の氏族、アヒラムからアヒラム人の氏族、
38The sons of Benjamin after their families: of Bela, the family of the Belaites; of Ashbel, the family of the Ashbelites; of Ahiram, the family of the Ahiramites;
39シュファムからシュファム人の氏族、フファムからフファム人の氏族が出た。
39of Shephupham, the family of the Shuphamites; of Hupham, the family of the Huphamites.
40ベラの子らはアルドとナアマンであり、アルドからアルド人の氏族、ナアマンからナアマン人の氏族が出た。
40And the sons of Bela were Ard and Naaman; of Ard, the family of the Ardites; of Naaman, the family of the Naamites.
41これらがベニヤミンの子らの氏族であり、数えられた者は四万五千六百人であった。
41These are the sons of Benjamin after their families; and they that were numbered of them were forty and five thousand and six hundred.
42ダンの子らの氏族は次のとおりである。シュハムからシュハム人の氏族が出た。これらがダンの氏族である。
42These are the sons of Dan after their families: of Shuham, the family of the Shuhamites. These are the families of Dan after their families.
43シュハム人のすべての氏族で、数えられた者は六万四千四百人であった。
43All the families of the Shuhamites, according to those that were numbered of them, were threescore and four thousand and four hundred.
44アシェルの子らの氏族は次のとおりである。イムナからイムナ人の氏族、イシュビからイシュビ人の氏族、ベリアからベリア人の氏族が出た。
44The sons of Asher after their families: of Imnah, the family of the Imnites; of Ishvi, the family of the Ishvites; of Beriah, the family of the Beriites.
45ベリアの子らは、ヘベルからヘベル人の氏族、マルキエルからマルキエル人の氏族が出た。
45Of the sons of Beriah: of Heber, the family of the Heberites; of Malchiel, the family of the Malchielites.
46アシェルの娘の名はセラといった。
46And the name of the daughter of Asher was Serah.
47これらがアシェルの子らの氏族であり、数えられた者は五万三千四百人であった。
47These are the families of the sons of Asher according to those that were numbered of them, fifty and three thousand and four hundred.
48ナフタリの子らの氏族は次のとおりである。ヤフツェエルからヤフツェエル人の氏族、グニからグニ人の氏族、
48The sons of Naphtali after their families: of Jahzeel, the family of the Jahzeelites; of Guni, the family of the Gunites;
49イエツェルからイエツェル人の氏族、シレムからシレム人の氏族が出た。
49of Jezer, the family of the Jezerites; of Shillem, the family of the Shillemites.
50これらがナフタリの氏族であり、数えられた者は四万五千四百人であった。
50These are the families of Naphtali according to their families; and they that were numbered of them were forty and five thousand and four hundred.
51イスラエルの子らのうち数えられた者は、六十万一千七百三十人であった。
51These are they that were numbered of the children of Israel, six hundred thousand and a thousand and seven hundred and thirty.
52主はモーセに告げられた。
52And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying:
53「これらの者に、人数に応じて地を相続地として割り当てなさい。
53'Unto these the land shall be divided for an inheritance according to the number of names.
54人数の多い部族には相続地を多く、少ない部族には少なく与える。それぞれ、数えられた人数に応じて相続地を与える。
54To the more thou shalt give the more inheritance, and to the fewer thou shalt give the less inheritance; to each one according to those that were numbered of it shall its inheritance be given.
55ただし、地はくじによって割り当てる。彼らは父祖の部族の名に従って受け継ぐ。
55Notwithstanding the land shall be divided by lot; according to the names of the tribes of their fathers they shall inherit.
56人数の多い部族と少ない部族の間で、くじによって相続地を割り当てる。」
56According to the lot shall their inheritance be divided between the more and the fewer.'
57氏族ごとに数えられたレビ人は次のとおりである。ゲルションからゲルション人の氏族、ケハテからケハテ人の氏族、メラリからメラリ人の氏族が出た。
57And these are they that were numbered of the Levites after their families: of Gershon, the family of the Gershonites; of Kohath, the family of the Kohathites; of Merari, the family of the Merarites.
58レビの氏族は次のとおりである。リブニ人の氏族、ヘブロン人の氏族、マフリ人の氏族、ムシ人の氏族、コラ人の氏族である。ケハテはアムラムの父となった。
58These are the families of Levi: the family of the Libnites, the family of the Hebronites, the family of the Mahlites, the family of the Mushites, the family of the Korahites. And Kohath begot Amram.
59アムラムの妻の名は、エジプトでレビに生まれたレビの娘ヨケベデであった。彼女はアムラムにアロンとモーセ、およびその姉妹ミリアムを産んだ。
59And the name of Amram's wife was Jochebed, the daughter of Levi, who was born to Levi in Egypt; and she bore unto Amram Aaron and Moses, and Miriam their sister.
60アロンにはナダブとアビフ、エルアザルとイタマルが生まれた。
60And unto Aaron were born Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.
61ナダブとアビフは、主の前に異なる火をささげたときに死んだ。
61And Nadab and Abihu died, when they offered strange fire before the LORD.
62生後一か月以上の男子で、数えられた者は二万三千人であった。彼らはイスラエルの子らとともには数えられなかった。イスラエルの中に相続地を与えられなかったからである。
62And they that were numbered of them were twenty and three thousand, every male from a month old and upward; for they were not numbered among the children of Israel, because there was no inheritance given them among the children of Israel.
63これらは、エリコの向かい、ヨルダン川のほとりのモアブの平野で、モーセと祭司エルアザルが数えたイスラエルの子らである。
63These are they that were numbered by Moses and Eleazar the priest, who numbered the children of Israel in the plains of Moab by the Jordan at Jericho.
64その中には、シナイの荒野でモーセと祭司アロンが数えた者は一人もいなかった。
64But among these there was not a man of them that were numbered by Moses and Aaron the priest, who numbered the children of Israel in the wilderness of Sinai.
65主が彼らについて、「彼らは必ず荒野で死ぬ」と言われたからである。エフネの子カレブとヌンの子ヨシュアのほかには、一人も残らなかった。
65For the LORD had said of them: 'They shall surely die in the wilderness.' And there was not left a man of them, save Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun.
