1主はモーセに告げられた。
1And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying:
2「アロンにこう告げなさい。『ともしびをともすとき、七つのともしびが燭台の前方を照らすようにしなさい。』」
2'Speak unto Aaron, and say unto him: When thou lightest the lamps, the seven lamps shall give light in front of the candlestick.'
3アロンはそのとおりに行い、主がモーセに命じられたとおり、七つのともしびを燭台の前方に向けてともした。
3And Aaron did so: he lighted the lamps thereof so as to give light in front of the candlestick, as the LORD commanded Moses.
4燭台は金の打ち出し細工で、その台座から花に至るまで打ち出して作られていた。主がモーセに示された型どおりに作られた。
4And this was the work of the candlestick, beaten work of gold; unto the base thereof, and unto the flowers thereof, it was beaten work; according unto the pattern which the LORD had shown Moses, so he made the candlestick.
5主はモーセに告げられた。
5And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying:
6「イスラエルの子らの中からレビ人を取り、彼らを清めなさい。
6'Take the Levites from among the children of Israel, and cleanse them.
7彼らを清めるには、次のようにしなさい。清めの水を振りかけ、全身の毛を剃らせ、衣服を洗わせて、身を清めさせる。
7And thus shalt thou do unto them, to cleanse them: sprinkle the water of purification upon them, and let them cause a razor to pass over all their flesh, and let them wash their clothes, and cleanse themselves.
8それから、彼らに若い牛一頭と、それに伴う穀物のささげ物、すなわち油を混ぜた上質の小麦粉を取らせなさい。またあなたは、贖罪のささげ物として、もう一頭の若い牛を取りなさい。
8Then let them take a young bullock, and its meal-offering, fine flour mingled with oil, and another young bullock shalt thou take for a sin-offering.
9レビ人を会見の天幕の前に連れて来て、イスラエルの子らの全会衆を集める。
9And thou shalt present the Levites before the tent of meeting; and thou shalt assemble the whole congregation of the children of Israel.
10レビ人を主の前に進み出させ、イスラエルの子らにレビ人の上へ手を置かせる。
10And thou shalt present the Levites before the LORD; and the children of Israel shall lay their hands upon the Levites.
11アロンはイスラエルの子らを代表し、レビ人を揺り動かすささげ物として主の前にささげる。こうして彼らは主への奉仕に就く。
11And Aaron shall offer the Levites before the LORD for a wave-offering from the children of Israel, that they may be to do the service of the LORD.
12レビ人は二頭の牛の頭に手を置く。あなたは一頭を贖罪のささげ物、もう一頭を全焼のささげ物として主にささげ、レビ人のために贖いを行う。
12And the Levites shall lay their hands upon the heads of the bullocks; and offer thou the one for a sin-offering, and the other for a burnt-offering, unto the LORD, to make atonement for the Levites.
13レビ人をアロンとその子らの前に立たせ、揺り動かすささげ物として主にささげる。
13And thou shalt set the Levites before Aaron, and before his sons, and offer them for a wave-offering unto the LORD.
14このようにして、あなたはイスラエルの子らの中からレビ人をえり分けなさい。レビ人はわたしのものとなる。
14Thus shalt thou separate the Levites from among the children of Israel; and the Levites shall be Mine.
15その後、レビ人は会見の天幕に入り、奉仕に就く。あなたは彼らを清め、揺り動かすささげ物としてささげる。
15And after that shall the Levites go in to do the service of the tent of meeting; and thou shalt cleanse them, and offer them for a wave-offering.
16彼らはイスラエルの子らの中から、完全にわたしに与えられているからである。わたしは、胎を開くすべての者、すなわちイスラエルの子らのすべての長子の代わりに、彼らをわたしのものとして取った。
16For they are wholly given unto Me from among the children of Israel; instead of all that openeth the womb, even the first-born of all the children of Israel, have I taken them unto Me.
17イスラエルの子らの長子はみな、人であれ動物であれ、わたしのものだからである。わたしがエジプトの地で長子をすべて打ち殺した日に、わたしは彼らをわたしのために聖別した。
17For all the first-born among the children of Israel are Mine, both man and beast; on the day that I smote all the first-born in the land of Egypt I sanctified them for Myself.
18わたしは、イスラエルの子らの中のすべての長子の代わりにレビ人を取った。
18And I have taken the Levites instead of all the first-born among the children of Israel.
19わたしはイスラエルの子らの中からレビ人を選び、アロンとその子らへの贈り物とした。彼らは会見の天幕でイスラエルの子らに代わって奉仕し、そのために贖いを行う。こうして、イスラエルの子らが聖所に近づくとき、彼らの中に疫病が起こらないようにする。」
19And I have given the Levites — they are given to Aaron and to his sons from among the children of Israel, to do the service of the children of Israel in the tent of meeting, and to make atonement for the children of Israel, that there be no plague among the children of Israel, through the children of Israel coming nigh unto the sanctuary.'
20モーセとアロン、およびイスラエルの子らの全会衆は、レビ人にそのとおりに行った。主がレビ人についてモーセに命じられたすべてのことを、そのとおりに行った。
20Thus did Moses, and Aaron, and all the congregation of the children of Israel, unto the Levites; according unto all that the LORD commanded Moses touching the Levites, so did the children of Israel unto them.
21レビ人は罪を清める儀式を行い、衣服を洗った。アロンは彼らを主の前で揺り動かすささげ物としてささげ、彼らを清めるために贖いを行った。
21And the Levites purified themselves, and they washed their clothes; and Aaron offered them for a sacred gift before the LORD; and Aaron made atonement for them to cleanse them.
22その後、レビ人は会見の天幕に入り、アロンとその子らの前で奉仕した。主がレビ人についてモーセに命じられたとおりである。
22And after that went the Levites in to do their service in the tent of meeting before Aaron, and before his sons; as the LORD had commanded Moses concerning the Levites, so did they unto them.
23主はモーセに告げられた。
23And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying:
24「レビ人についての定めは次のとおりである。二十五歳以上の者は会見の天幕の務めに就き、奉仕する。
24'This is that which pertaineth unto the Levites: from twenty and five years old and upward they shall go in to perform the service in the work of the tent of meeting;
25五十歳からは、彼らは働きの奉仕から退き、もはや奉仕してはならない。
25and from the age of fifty years they shall return from the service of the work, and shall serve no more;
26ただし、会見の天幕で兄弟たちを助け、務めを果たすことはできるが、奉仕そのものには就かない。レビ人の務めについて、このように定めなさい。」
26but shall minister with their brethren in the tent of meeting, to keep the charge, but they shall do no manner of service. Thus shalt thou do unto the Levites touching their charges.'
