1พระยาห์เวห์ตรัสกับโมเสสว่า
1And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying:
2“จงบอกอาโรนว่า ‘เมื่อเจ้าจุดตะเกียง ตะเกียงทั้ง 7 ดวงต้องส่องแสงไปยังบริเวณด้านหน้าเชิงประทีป’”
2'Speak unto Aaron, and say unto him: When thou lightest the lamps, the seven lamps shall give light in front of the candlestick.'
3อาโรนก็ทำเช่นนั้น เขาจุดตะเกียงให้ส่องแสงไปยังบริเวณด้านหน้าเชิงประทีป ตามที่พระยาห์เวห์ทรงบัญชาโมเสส
3And Aaron did so: he lighted the lamps thereof so as to give light in front of the candlestick, as the LORD commanded Moses.
4เชิงประทีปนั้นทำด้วยทองคำตีขึ้นรูป ตั้งแต่ฐานจนถึงส่วนที่เป็นดอกล้วนเป็นงานตีขึ้นรูป เชิงประทีปถูกทำขึ้นตามแบบที่พระยาห์เวห์ทรงสำแดงแก่โมเสส
4And this was the work of the candlestick, beaten work of gold; unto the base thereof, and unto the flowers thereof, it was beaten work; according unto the pattern which the LORD had shown Moses, so he made the candlestick.
5พระยาห์เวห์ตรัสกับโมเสสว่า
5And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying:
6“จงนำชาวเลวีออกมาจากท่ามกลางชาวอิสราเอล และชำระพวกเขาให้สะอาด
6'Take the Levites from among the children of Israel, and cleanse them.
7เจ้าต้องชำระพวกเขาให้สะอาดดังนี้ จงพรมน้ำชำระให้พวกเขา ให้พวกเขาโกนขนทั้งตัวด้วยมีดโกน ซักเสื้อผ้า และชำระตนให้สะอาด
7And thus shalt thou do unto them, to cleanse them: sprinkle the water of purification upon them, and let them cause a razor to pass over all their flesh, and let them wash their clothes, and cleanse themselves.
8แล้วให้พวกเขานำโคหนุ่ม 1 ตัวพร้อมกับเครื่องธัญบูชาที่คู่กัน คือแป้งละเอียดเคล้าน้ำมัน และให้เจ้านำโคหนุ่มอีก 1 ตัวมาเป็นเครื่องบูชาชำระบาป
8Then let them take a young bullock, and its meal-offering, fine flour mingled with oil, and another young bullock shalt thou take for a sin-offering.
9เจ้าต้องนำชาวเลวีมายืนหน้าเต็นท์นัดพบ และเรียกชุมนุมชนอิสราเอลทั้งหมดมารวมกัน
9And thou shalt present the Levites before the tent of meeting; and thou shalt assemble the whole congregation of the children of Israel.
10เจ้าต้องนำชาวเลวีมาอยู่ต่อหน้าพระยาห์เวห์ แล้วชาวอิสราเอลจะวางมือบนชาวเลวี
10And thou shalt present the Levites before the LORD; and the children of Israel shall lay their hands upon the Levites.
11อาโรนต้องถวายชาวเลวีแด่พระยาห์เวห์ด้วยพิธีโบกถวายในนามของชาวอิสราเอล เพื่อชาวเลวีจะทำงานรับใช้พระยาห์เวห์
11And Aaron shall offer the Levites before the LORD for a wave-offering from the children of Israel, that they may be to do the service of the LORD.
12“ชาวเลวีต้องวางมือบนหัวโคทั้ง 2 ตัว แล้วเจ้าจงถวายตัวหนึ่งเป็นเครื่องบูชาชำระบาป และอีกตัวหนึ่งเป็นเครื่องเผาบูชาแด่พระยาห์เวห์ เพื่อทำพิธีลบมลทินบาปให้ชาวเลวี
12And the Levites shall lay their hands upon the heads of the bullocks; and offer thou the one for a sin-offering, and the other for a burnt-offering, unto the LORD, to make atonement for the Levites.
13เจ้าต้องให้ชาวเลวียืนอยู่ต่อหน้าอาโรนและบุตรทั้งหลายของเขา แล้วถวายพวกเขาแด่พระยาห์เวห์ด้วยพิธีโบกถวาย
13And thou shalt set the Levites before Aaron, and before his sons, and offer them for a wave-offering unto the LORD.
14ด้วยวิธีนี้ เจ้าจะแยกชาวเลวีออกจากท่ามกลางชาวอิสราเอล และชาวเลวีจะเป็นของเรา
14Thus shalt thou separate the Levites from among the children of Israel; and the Levites shall be Mine.
15“หลังจากนั้นชาวเลวีจึงเข้าไปทำงานรับใช้ในเต็นท์นัดพบ เจ้าต้องชำระพวกเขาให้สะอาด และถวายพวกเขาด้วยพิธีโบกถวาย
15And after that shall the Levites go in to do the service of the tent of meeting; and thou shalt cleanse them, and offer them for a wave-offering.
16เพราะพวกเขาเป็นผู้ที่ถูกมอบไว้กับเราโดยสิ้นเชิงจากท่ามกลางชาวอิสราเอล เรารับพวกเขาไว้เป็นของเราแทนบุตรหัวปีทุกคนที่คลอดออกมาเป็นคนแรกในหมู่ชาวอิสราเอล
16For they are wholly given unto Me from among the children of Israel; instead of all that openeth the womb, even the first-born of all the children of Israel, have I taken them unto Me.
17เพราะบุตรหัวปีทั้งหมดในหมู่ชาวอิสราเอลเป็นของเรา ทั้งคนและสัตว์ ในวันที่เราประหารบุตรหัวปีทั้งหมดในดินแดนอียิปต์ เราได้ชำระพวกเขาให้บริสุทธิ์ไว้สำหรับเรา
17For all the first-born among the children of Israel are Mine, both man and beast; on the day that I smote all the first-born in the land of Egypt I sanctified them for Myself.
18เรารับชาวเลวีไว้แทนบุตรหัวปีทั้งหมดของชาวอิสราเอล
18And I have taken the Levites instead of all the first-born among the children of Israel.
19เรามอบชาวเลวีจากท่ามกลางชาวอิสราเอลให้เป็นของขวัญแก่อาโรนและบุตรทั้งหลายของเขา เพื่อทำงานรับใช้แทนชาวอิสราเอลในเต็นท์นัดพบ และทำพิธีลบมลทินบาปให้ชาวอิสราเอล เพื่อจะไม่มีภัยพิบัติเกิดขึ้นในหมู่ชาวอิสราเอลเมื่อพวกเขาเข้าใกล้สถานบริสุทธิ์”
19And I have given the Levites — they are given to Aaron and to his sons from among the children of Israel, to do the service of the children of Israel in the tent of meeting, and to make atonement for the children of Israel, that there be no plague among the children of Israel, through the children of Israel coming nigh unto the sanctuary.'
20โมเสส อาโรน และชุมนุมชนอิสราเอลทั้งหมดก็ทำเช่นนั้นต่อชาวเลวี ชาวอิสราเอลทำต่อพวกเขาตามทุกสิ่งที่พระยาห์เวห์ทรงบัญชาโมเสสเกี่ยวกับชาวเลวี
20Thus did Moses, and Aaron, and all the congregation of the children of Israel, unto the Levites; according unto all that the LORD commanded Moses touching the Levites, so did the children of Israel unto them.
21ชาวเลวีชำระตนจากบาปและซักเสื้อผ้า อาโรนถวายพวกเขาด้วยพิธีโบกถวายต่อหน้าพระยาห์เวห์ และอาโรนทำพิธีลบมลทินบาปให้พวกเขาเพื่อชำระพวกเขาให้สะอาด
21And the Levites purified themselves, and they washed their clothes; and Aaron offered them for a sacred gift before the LORD; and Aaron made atonement for them to cleanse them.
22หลังจากนั้นชาวเลวีจึงเข้าไปทำงานรับใช้ในเต็นท์นัดพบต่อหน้าอาโรนและบุตรทั้งหลายของเขา พวกเขาทำต่อชาวเลวีตามที่พระยาห์เวห์ทรงบัญชาโมเสสเกี่ยวกับพวกเขา
22And after that went the Levites in to do their service in the tent of meeting before Aaron, and before his sons; as the LORD had commanded Moses concerning the Levites, so did they unto them.
23พระยาห์เวห์ตรัสกับโมเสสว่า
23And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying:
24“ข้อกำหนดสำหรับชาวเลวีมีดังนี้ ตั้งแต่อายุ 25 ปีขึ้นไป พวกเขาต้องเข้ามาปฏิบัติหน้าที่ในงานรับใช้ของเต็นท์นัดพบ
24'This is that which pertaineth unto the Levites: from twenty and five years old and upward they shall go in to perform the service in the work of the tent of meeting;
25และเมื่ออายุ 50 ปี พวกเขาต้องออกจากงานและไม่ทำงานรับใช้อีก
25and from the age of fifty years they shall return from the service of the work, and shall serve no more;
26แต่พวกเขายังช่วยเหลือพี่น้องของตนในเต็นท์นัดพบในการปฏิบัติหน้าที่ได้ โดยไม่ต้องทำงานรับใช้ เจ้าต้องให้ชาวเลวีปฏิบัติหน้าที่เช่นนี้”
26but shall minister with their brethren in the tent of meeting, to keep the charge, but they shall do no manner of service. Thus shalt thou do unto the Levites touching their charges.'
