1主がシナイ山でモーセに語られたころの、アロンとモーセの系譜は次のとおりである。
1Now these are the generations of Aaron and Moses in the day that the LORD spoke with Moses in mount Sinai.
2アロンの子らの名は次のとおりである。長子はナダブ、次にアビフ、エルアザル、イタマルである。
2And these are the names of the sons of Aaron: Nadab the first-born, and Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.
3これらがアロンの子ら、すなわち油を注がれ、祭司として仕えるために任職された祭司たちの名である。
3These are the names of the sons of Aaron, the priests that were anointed, whom he consecrated to minister in the priest's office.
4ナダブとアビフは、シナイの荒野で主の前に異なる火をささげたとき、主の前で死んだ。二人には子がなかった。エルアザルとイタマルは、父アロンのもとで祭司として仕えた。
4And Nadab and Abihu died before the LORD, when they offered strange fire before the LORD, in the wilderness of Sinai, and they had no children; and Eleazar and Ithamar ministered in the priest's office in the presence of Aaron their father.
5主はモーセに告げられた。
5And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying:
6「レビの部族を近づけ、祭司アロンの前に立たせて、彼に仕えさせなさい。
6'Bring the tribe of Levi near, and set them before Aaron the priest, that they may minister unto him.
7彼らは会見の天幕の前で、アロンに対する務めと全会衆に対する務めを果たし、幕屋の奉仕を担う。
7And they shall keep his charge, and the charge of the whole congregation before the tent of meeting, to do the service of the tabernacle.
8会見の天幕のすべての器具を管理し、イスラエルの子らに代わって幕屋の奉仕を担う。
8And they shall keep all the furniture of the tent of meeting, and the charge of the children of Israel, to do the service of the tabernacle.
9レビ人をアロンとその子らに与えなさい。彼らはイスラエルの子らに代わって、アロンに全面的に与えられた者たちである。
9And thou shalt give the Levites unto Aaron and to his sons; they are wholly given unto him from the children of Israel.
10アロンとその子らを任命し、祭司の務めを担わせなさい。近づく部外者は死刑に処される。」
10And thou shalt appoint Aaron and his sons, that they may keep their priesthood; and the common man that draweth nigh shall be put to death.'
11主はモーセに告げられた。
11And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying:
12「見よ、わたしは、イスラエルの子らのうち胎を開くすべての長子に代えて、イスラエルの子らの中からレビ人を取った。レビ人はわたしのものとなる。
12'And I, behold, I have taken the Levites from among the children of Israel instead of every first-born that openeth the womb among the children of Israel; and the Levites shall be Mine;
13すべての長子はわたしのものだからである。わたしがエジプトの地で長子をすべて打ち殺した日に、人間であれ動物であれ、イスラエルのすべての長子をわたしのために聖別した。彼らはわたしのものとなる。わたしは主である。」
13for all the first-born are Mine: on the day that I smote all the first-born in the land of Egypt I hallowed unto Me all the first-born in Israel, both man and beast, Mine they shall be: I am the LORD.'
14主はシナイの荒野でモーセに告げられた。
14And the LORD spoke unto Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, saying:
15「レビの子らを、父祖の家ごと、氏族ごとに数えなさい。一か月以上のすべての男子を数えなさい。」
15'Number the children of Levi by their fathers' houses, by their families; every male from a month old and upward shalt thou number them.'
16モーセは命じられたとおり、主の言葉に従って彼らを数えた。
16And Moses numbered them according to the word of the LORD, as he was commanded.
17レビの子らの名は、ゲルション、ケハテ、メラリである。
17And these were the sons of Levi by their names: Gershon, and Kohath, and Merari.
18ゲルションの子らを氏族別に挙げると、リブニとシムイ。
18And these are the names of the sons of Gershon by their families: Libni and Shimei.
19ケハテの子らを氏族別に挙げると、アムラム、イツハル、ヘブロン、ウジエル。
19And the sons of Kohath by their families: Amram and Izhar, Hebron and Uzziel.
20メラリの子らを氏族別に挙げると、マフリとムシである。 これらが、父祖の家によるレビ人の氏族である。
20And the sons of Merari by their families: Mahli and Mushi. These are the families of the Levites according to their fathers' houses.
21ゲルションからはリブニ人の氏族とシムイ人の氏族が出た。これらがゲルション人の氏族である。
21Of Gershon was the family of the Libnites, and the family of the Shimeites; these are the families of the Gershonites.
22一か月以上の男子を数えると、七千五百人であった。
22Those that were numbered of them, according to the number of all the males, from a month old and upward, even those that were numbered of them were seven thousand and five hundred.
23ゲルション人の氏族は、幕屋の後ろ、すなわち西側に宿営する。
23The families of the Gershonites were to pitch behind the tabernacle westward;
24ゲルション人の父祖の家の長は、ラエルの子エルヤサフであった。
24the prince of the fathers' house of the Gershonites being Eliasaph the son of Lael,
25会見の天幕におけるゲルションの子らの任務は、幕屋と天幕、その覆い、会見の天幕の入口の垂れ幕、
25and the charge of the sons of Gershon in the tent of meeting the tabernacle, and the Tent, the covering thereof, and the screen for the door of the tent of meeting,
26庭の掛け幕、幕屋と祭壇を囲む庭の入口の垂れ幕、およびこれらの奉仕に用いるすべてのひもを管理することであった。
26and the hangings of the court, and the screen for the door of the court — which is by the tabernacle, and by the altar, round about—and the cords of it, even whatsoever pertaineth to the service thereof.
27ケハテからはアムラム人の氏族、イツハル人の氏族、ヘブロン人の氏族、ウジエル人の氏族が出た。これらがケハテ人の氏族である。
27And of Kohath was the family of the Amramites, and the family of the Izharites, and the family of the Hebronites, and the family of the Uzzielites; these are the families of the Kohathites:
28一か月以上の男子は八千六百人であり、聖所の務めを担った。
28according to the number of all the males, from a month old and upward, eight thousand and six hundred, keepers of the charge of the sanctuary.
29ケハテの子らの氏族は、幕屋の南側に宿営する。
29The families of the sons of Kohath were to pitch on the side of the tabernacle southward;
30ケハテ人の氏族の父祖の家の長は、ウジエルの子エリツァファンであった。
30the prince of the fathers' house of the families of the Kohathites being Elizaphan the son of Uzziel,
31彼らの任務は、契約の箱、机、燭台、祭壇、奉仕に用いる聖所の器具、垂れ幕、およびこれらに関するすべての務めであった。
31and their charge the ark, and the table, and the candlestick, and the altars, and the vessels of the sanctuary wherewith the priests minister, and the screen, and all that pertaineth to the service thereof;
32祭司アロンの子エルアザルはレビ人の指導者たちを統括し、聖所の務めを担う者たちを監督した。
32Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest being prince of the princes of the Levites, and having the oversight of them that keep the charge of the sanctuary.
33メラリからはマフリ人の氏族とムシ人の氏族が出た。これらがメラリの氏族である。
33Of Merari was the family of the Mahlites, and the family of the Mushites; these are the families of Merari.
34彼らのうち数えられた一か月以上の男子は、六千二百人であった。
34And those that were numbered of them, according to the number of all the males, from a month old and upward, were six thousand and two hundred;
35メラリの氏族の父祖の家の長は、アビハイルの子ツリエルであった。彼らは幕屋の北側に宿営する。
35the prince of the fathers' house of the families of Merari being Zuriel the son of Abihail; they were to pitch on the side of the tabernacle northward;
36メラリの子らの割り当てられた任務は、幕屋の板、その横木、その柱、その台座、そのすべての器具、そのすべての奉仕、
36the appointed charge of the sons of Merari being the boards of the tabernacle, and the bars thereof, and the pillars thereof, and the sockets thereof, and all the instruments thereof, and all that pertaineth to the service thereof;
37庭の周囲の柱、その台座、その釘、そのひもであった。
37and the pillars of the court round about, and their sockets, and their pins, and their cords.
38幕屋の前、すなわち東側、会見の天幕の正面の日の出る方角には、モーセとアロン、その子らが宿営した。彼らはイスラエルの子らに代わって聖所の務めを担った。近づく部外者は死刑に処される。
38And those that were to pitch before the tabernacle eastward, before the tent of meeting toward the sunrising, were Moses, and Aaron and his sons, keeping the charge of the sanctuary, even the charge for the children of Israel; and the common man that drew nigh was to be put to death.
39主の命令によってモーセとアロンが氏族ごとに数えたレビ人のうち、数えられたすべての者、すなわち一か月以上のすべての男子は、二万二千人であった。
39All that were numbered of the Levites, whom Moses and Aaron numbered at the commandment of the LORD, by their families, all the males from a month old and upward, were twenty and two thousand.
40主はモーセに言われた。「イスラエルの子らの長子であるすべての男子を、一か月以上の者から数え、その名を一人ずつ記録しなさい。
40And the LORD said unto Moses: 'Number all the first-born males of the children of Israel from a month old and upward, and take the number of their names.
41あなたはイスラエルの子らの中のすべての長子の代わりに、わたしのためにレビ人を――わたしは主である――取りなさい。また、イスラエルの子らの家畜のすべての初子の代わりに、レビ人の家畜を取りなさい。」
41And thou shalt take the Levites for Me, even the LORD, instead of all the first-born among the children of Israel; and the cattle of the Levites instead of all the firstlings among the cattle of the children of Israel.'
42モーセは、主が命じられたとおりに、イスラエルの子らの中のすべての長子を数えた。
42And Moses numbered, as the LORD commanded him, all the first-born among the children of Israel.
43一か月以上で、名を数えられた長子の男子は、二万二千二百七十三人であった。
43And all the first-born males according to the number of names, from a month old and upward, of those that were numbered of them, were twenty and two thousand two hundred and threescore and thirteen.
44主はモーセに告げられた。
44And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying:
45「イスラエルの子らの中のすべての長子の代わりにレビ人を、彼らの家畜の代わりにレビ人の家畜を取りなさい。レビ人はわたしのものとなる。わたしは主である。
45'Take the Levites instead of all the first-born among the children of Israel, and the cattle of the Levites instead of their cattle; and the Levites shall be Mine, even the LORD'S.
46レビ人の数を超えた、イスラエルの子らの長子二百七十三人を贖うために、
46And as for the redemption of the two hundred and three score and thirteen of the first-born of the children of Israel, that are over and above the number of the Levites,
47あなたは一人につき五シェケルずつ取りなさい。聖所のシェケル に従ってこれらを取りなさい（一シェケルは二十ゲラ である）。
47thou shalt take five shekels apiece by the poll; after the shekel of the sanctuary shalt thou take them — the shekel is twenty gerahs.
48数を超えた者たちの贖いの銀を、アロンとその子らに渡しなさい。」
48And thou shalt give the money wherewith they that remain over of them are redeemed unto Aaron and to his sons.'
49モーセは、レビ人の数を超えた長子たちから贖いの銀を取った。
49And Moses took the redemption-money from them that were over and above them that were redeemed by the Levites;
50彼はイスラエルの子らの長子からその銀、すなわち聖所のシェケルに従って千三百六十五シェケル を取った。
50from the first-born of the children of Israel took he the money: a thousand three hundred and threescore and five shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary.
51モーセは主の言葉に従い、主が命じられたとおり、その贖いの銀をアロンとその子らに渡した。
51And Moses gave the redemption-money unto Aaron and to his sons, according to the word of the LORD, as the LORD commanded Moses.
