1Сине мој, ако примиш речи моје, и заповести моје сахраниш код себе,
1My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and lay up my commandments with thee;
2Да пази ухо твоје на мудрост, и пригнеш срце своје к разуму,
2So that thou make thine ear attend unto wisdom, and thy heart incline to discernment;
3Ако призовеш мудрост, и к разуму подигнеш глас свој,
3Yea, if thou call for understanding, and lift up thy voice for discernment;
4Ако га устражиш као сребро, и као сакривено благо ако добро устражиш;
4If thou seek her as silver, and search for her as for hid treasures;
5Тада ћеш разумети страх Господњи, и познање Божије наћи ћеш.
5Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God.
6Јер Господ даје мудрост, из Његових уста долази знање и разум.
6For the LORD giveth wisdom, out of His mouth cometh knowledge and discernment;
7Чува правима шта доиста јесте, штит је онима који ходе у безазлености,
7He layeth up sound wisdom for the upright, He is a shield to them that walk in integrity;
8Да би се држали стаза правих, а Он чува пут светаца својих.
8That He may guard the paths of justice, and preserve the way of His godly ones.
9Тада ћеш разумети правду и суд и шта је право, и сваки добри пут.
9Then shalt thou understand righteousness and justice, and equity, yea, every good path.
10Кад дође мудрост у срце твоје, и знање омили души твојој,
10For wisdom shall enter into thy heart, and knowledge shall be pleasant unto thy soul;
11Помњивост ће пазити на те, разум ће те чувати,
11Discretion shall watch over thee, discernment shall guard thee;
12Избављајући те од зла пута, од људи који говоре опаке ствари,
12To deliver thee from the way of evil, from the men that speak froward things;
13Који остављају праве путе да иду путевима мрачним,
13Who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness;
14Који се радују зло чинећи, и играју у злим опачинама;
14Who rejoice to do evil, and delight in the frowardness of evil;
15Којих су путеви криви, и сами су опаки на стазама својим;
15Who are crooked in their ways, and perverse in their paths;
16Избављајући те од жене туђе, од туђинке, која ласка својим речима,
16To deliver thee from the strange woman, even from the alien woman that maketh smooth her words;
17Која оставља вођу младости своје, и заборавља завет Бога свог.
17That forsaketh the lord of her youth, and forgetteth the covenant of her God.
18Јер к смрти води дом њен, и к мртвима стазе њене.
18For her house sinketh down unto death, and her paths unto the shades;
19Ко год уђе к њој не враћа се, нити излази на пут животни.
19None that go unto her return, neither do they attain unto the paths of life;
20Зато ходи путем добрих, и држи се стаза праведничких.
20That thou mayest walk in the way of good men, and keep the paths of the righteous.
21Јер ће праведници наставати на земљи, и безазлени ће остати на њој.
21For the upright shall dwell in the land, and the whole-hearted shall remain in it.
22А безбожни ће се истребити са земље, и безаконици ће се ишчупати из ње.
22But the wicked shall be cut off from the land, and the faithless shall be plucked up out of it.
