1Đức Giê-hô-va ôi! xin chớ nổi thạnh nộ mà quở trách tôi, Cũng đừng nóng giận mà sửa phạt tôi.
1(38-1) A Psalm of David, to make memorial. (38-2) O LORD, rebuke me not in Thine anger; neither chasten me in Thy wrath.
2Vì các mũi tên Chúa gắm mình tôi, Và tay Chúa đè nặng trên tôi.
2(38-3) For Thine arrows are gone deep into me, and Thy hand is come down upon me.
3Bởi cơn giận Chúa, thịt tôi chẳng nơi nào lành; Tại cớ tội lỗi tôi, xương cốt tôi chẳng được an nghỉ.
3(38-4) There is no soundness in my flesh because of Thine indignation; neither is there any health in my bones because of my sin.
4Vì sự gian ác tôi vượt qua đầu tôi; Nó nặng quá cho tôi, khác nào một gánh nặng.
4(38-5) For mine iniquities are gone over my head; as a heavy burden they are too heavy for me.
5Tại cớ khờ dại tôi, Các vết thương tôi thối tha và chảy lở.
5(38-6) My wounds are noisome, they fester, because of my foolishness.
6Tôi bị đau đớn và khòm cúp xuống; Trọn ngày tôi đi buồn thảm;
6(38-7) I am bent and bowed down greatly; I go mourning all the day.
7Vì có lửa hừng thiêu đốt cật tôi, Và thịt tôi chẳng nơi nào lành.
7(38-8) For my loins are filled with burning; and there is no soundness in my flesh.
8Tôi mệt nhọc và rêm nhiều quá, Tôi la hét vì cớ lòng tôi bồn chồn.
8(38-9) I am benumbed and sore crushed; I groan by reason of the moaning of my heart.
9Chúa ôi! các sự ao ước tôi đều ở trước mặt Chúa, Sự rên siếc tôi chẳng giấu Chúa.
9(38-10) Lord, all my desire is before Thee; and my sighing is not hid from Thee.
10Lòng tôi hồi hộp, sức tôi mỏn đi; Sự sáng mắt tôi cũng thiếu mất nữa.
10(38-11) My heart fluttereth, my strength faileth me; as for the light of mine eyes, it also is gone from me.
11Các người thương tôi và những bạn tôi đều đứng xa tôi, Còn bà con tôi ở cách xa tôi.
11(38-12) My friends and my companions stand aloof from my plague; and my kinsmen stand afar off.
12Những kẻ tìm giết mạng sống tôi gài bẫy tôi, Kẻ tìm hại tôi nói điều dữ, Và trọn ngày toan sự phỉnh gạt.
12(38-13) They also that seek after my life lay snares for me; and they that seek my hurt speak crafty devices, and utter deceits all the day.
13Nhưng tôi như kẻ điếc, không nghe chi, Như người câm, không mở miệng.
13(38-14) But I am as a deaf man, I hear not; and I am as a dumb man that openeth not his mouth.
14Tôi đã trở nên như người không nghe, Như người chẳng có lời đối lại ở trong miệng mình.
14(38-15) Yea, I am become as a man that heareth not, and in whose mouth are no arguments.
15Vì, Đức Giê-hô-va ôi! tôi để lòng trông cậy nơi Ngài, Hỡi Chúa là Đức Chúa Trời tôi, Chúa sẽ đáp lại;
15(38-16) For in Thee, O LORD, do I hope; Thou wilt answer, O Lord my God.
16Vì tôi có nói rằng: Nguyện chúng nó chớ mừng rỡ vì cớ tôi! Khi chân tôi xiêu tó, chúng nó dấy lên cách kiêu ngạo cùng tôi.
16(38-17) For I said: 'Lest they rejoice over me; when my foot slippeth, they magnify themselves against me.'
17Tôi gần sa ngã, Nỗi đau đớn vẫn ở trước mặt tôi;
17(38-18) For I am ready to halt, and my pain is continually before me.
18Vì tôi sẽ xưng gian ác tôi ra, Tôi buồn rầu vì tội lỗi tôi.
18(38-19) For I do declare mine iniquity; I am full of care because of my sin.
19Nhưng kẻ thù nghịch tôi còn sống và mạnh, Các kẻ ghét tôi vô cớ thì nhiều;
19(38-20) But mine enemies are strong in health; and they that hate me wrongfully are multiplied.
20Còn những kẻ lấy dữ trả lành Cũng là cừu địch tôi, bởi vì tôi theo điều lành.
20(38-21) They also that repay evil for good are adversaries unto me, because I follow the thing that is good.
21Đức Giê-hô-va ôi! xin chớ lìa bỏ tôi. Đức Chúa Trời tôi ôi! xin chớ cách xa tôi.
21(38-22) Forsake me not, O LORD; O my God, be not far from me.
22Chúa ôi! Chúa là sự cứu rỗi tôi, Hãy mau mau đến tiếp trợ tôi.
22(38-23) Make haste to help me, O LORD, my salvation.
