1Praise ye the LORD . Praise ye the LORD from the heavens: praise him in the heights.
1Halleluja! Looft Jahweh in de hemel, Looft Hem in den hoge;
2Praise ye him, all his angels: praise ye him, all his hosts.
2Looft Hem al zijn engelen, Looft Hem heel zijn heir!
3Praise ye him, sun and moon: praise him, all ye stars of light.
3Looft Hem, zon en maan, Looft Hem allen, flonkerende sterren;
4Praise him, ye heavens of heavens, and ye waters that be above the heavens.
4Looft Hem hoogste gewesten, De wateren boven de hemel!
5Let them praise the name of the LORD : for he commanded, and they were created.
5De Naam van Jahweh moeten ze loven, Want Hij gebood, en ze werden geschapen;
6He hath also stablished them for ever and ever: he hath made a decree which shall not pass.
6Hij wees hun een plaats voor altijd en eeuwig, Hij gaf hun een wet, die ze niet overtreden.
7Praise the LORD from the earth, ye dragons, and all deeps:
7Looft Jahweh op aarde: Monsters der zee en alle oceanen,
8Fire, and hail; snow, and vapour; stormy wind fulfilling his word:
8Vuur en hagel, sneeuw en ijzel, Stormwind, die zijn bevelen volbrengt!
9Mountains, and all hills; fruitful trees, and all cedars:
9Alle bergen en heuvels, Alle vruchtbomen en ceders;
10Beasts, and all cattle; creeping things, and flying fowl:
10Alle beesten, wilde en tamme, Kruipende dieren en gevleugelde vogels!
11Kings of the earth, and all people; princes, and all judges of the earth:
11Alle koningen en volken der aarde, Alle vorsten en wereldbestuurders;
12Both young men, and maidens; old men, and children:
12Jonge mannen en maagden, Grijsaards en kinderen!
13Let them praise the name of the LORD : for his name alone is excellent; his glory is above the earth and heaven.
13De Naam van Jahweh moeten ze loven: Want zijn Naam is verheven; Zìjn glorie alleen Gaat hemel en aarde te boven!
14He also exalteth the horn of his people, the praise of all his saints; even of the children of Israel, a people near unto him. Praise ye the LORD .
14Hij heeft de hoorn van zijn volk weer verhoogd, En de roem van al zijn getrouwen: Van Israëls zonen, Van het volk, van zijn vrienden! Halleluja!
