Přísloví 2

Kralice Bible (1613)
Douay-Rheims Bible, American Edition (1899)
1Synu můj, přijmeš-li slova má, a přikázaní má schováš-li u sebe;
1My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and wilt hide my commandments with thee,
2Nastavíš-li moudrosti ucha svého, a nakloníš-li srdce svého k opatrnosti;
2That thy ear may hearken to wisdom: Incline thy heart to know prudence:
3Ovšem, jestliže na rozumnost zavoláš, a na opatrnost zvoláš-li;
3For if thou shalt call for wisdom, and incline thy heart to prudence:
4Budeš-li jí hledati jako stříbra, a jako pokladů pilně vyhledávati jí:
4If thou shalt seek her as money, and shalt dig for her as for a treasure:
5Tehdy porozumíš bázni Hospodinově, a známosti Boží nabudeš;
5Then shalt thou understand the fear of the Lord, and shalt find the knowledge of God.
6Nebo Hospodin dává moudrost, z úst jeho umění a opatrnost.
6Because the Lord giveth wisdom: and out of his mouth cometh prudence and knowledge.
7Chová upřímým dlouhověkosti, pavézou jest chodícím v sprostnosti,
7He will keep the salvation of the righteous, and protect them that walk in simplicity.
8Ostříhaje stezek soudu; on cesty svatých svých ostříhá.
8Keeping the paths of justice, and guarding the ways of saints.
9Tehdy porozumíš spravedlnosti a soudu, a upřímosti i všeliké cestě dobré,
9Then shalt thou understand justice, and judgment, and equity, and every good path.
10Když vejde moudrost v srdce tvé, a umění duši tvé se zalíbí.
10If wisdom shall enter into thy heart, and knowledge please thy soul:
11Prozřetelnost ostříhati bude tebe, a opatrnost zachová tě,
11Counsel shall keep thee, and prudence shall preserve thee,
12Vysvobozujíc tě od cesty zlé, a od lidí mluvících věci převrácené,
12That thou mayst be delivered from the evil way, and from the man that speaketh perverse things:
13Kteříž opouštějí stezky přímé, aby chodili po cestách tmavých,
13Who leave the right way, and walk by dark ways:
14Kteříž se veselí ze zlého činění, plésají v převrácenostech nejhorších,
14Who are glad when they have done evil, and rejoice in most wicked things:
15Jejichž stezky křivolaké jsou, anobrž zmotaní jsou na cestách svých;
15Whose ways are perverse, and their steps infamous.
16Vysvobozujíc tě i od ženy postranní, od cizí, kteráž řečmi svými lahodí,
16That thou mayst be delivered from the strange women, and from the stranger, who softeneth her words:
17Kteráž opouští vůdce mladosti své, a na smlouvu Boha svého se zapomíná;
17And forsaketh the guide of her youth,
18K smrti se zajisté nachyluje dům její, a k mrtvým stezky její;
18And hath forgotten the covenant of her God: for her house inclineth unto death, and her paths to hell.
19Kteřížkoli vcházejí k ní, nenavracují se zase, aniž trefují na cestu života;
19None that go in unto her shall return again, neither shall they take hold of the paths of life,
20Abys chodil po cestě dobrých, a stezek spravedlivých abys ostříhal.
20That thou mayst walk in a good way: and mayst keep the paths of the just.
21Nebo upřímí bydliti budou v zemi, a pobožní zůstanou v ní;
21For they that are upright shall dwell in the earth, and the simple shall continue in it.
22Bezbožní pak z země vyťati budou, a přestupníci vykořeněni budou z ní.
22But the wicked shall be destroyed from the earth: and they that do unjustly shall be taken away from it.
