1I rejoiced at the things that were said to me: We shall go into the house of the Lord.
1Píseň stupňů. Pozdvihuji očí svých k horám, odkudž by mi přišla pomoc.
2Our feet were standing in thy courts, O Jerusalem.
2Pomoc má jest od Hospodina, kterýž učinil nebe i zemi.
3Jerusalem, which is built as a city, which is compact together.
3Nedopustíť, aby se pohnouti měla noha tvá, nedřímeť strážný tvůj.
4For thither did the tribes go up, the tribes of the Lord: the testimony of Israel, to praise the name of the Lord.
4Aj, nedřímeť, ovšem nespí ten, kterýž ostříhá Izraele.
5Because their seats have sat in judgment, seats upon the house of David.
5Hospodin strážce tvůj, Hospodin zastínění tvé tobě po pravici.
6Pray ye for the things that are for the peace of Jerusalem: and abundance for them that love thee.
6Nebudeť bíti na tě slunce ve dne, ani měsíc v noci.
7Let peace be in thy strength: and abundance in thy towers.
7Hospodin tě ostříhati bude ode všeho zlého, ostříhati bude duše tvé.
8For the sake of my brethren, and of my neighbours, I spoke peace of thee.
8Hospodin ostříhati tě bude, když vycházeti i vcházeti budeš, od tohoto času až na věky.
9Because of the house of the Lord our God, I have sought good things for thee.
