1Unto the end, a psalm for David.
1Žalm Davidův, když byl na poušti Judské.
2Hear, O God, my prayer, when I make supplication to thee: deliver my soul from the fear of the enemy.
2Bože, Bůh silný můj ty jsi, tebeť hned v jitře hledám, tebe žízní duše má, po tobě touží tělo mé, v zemi žíznivé a vyprahlé, v níž není vody,
3Thou hast protected me from the assembly of the malignant; from the multitude of the workers of iniquity.
3Abych tě v svatyni tvé spatřoval, a viděl sílu tvou a slávu tvou,
4For they have whetted their tongues like a sword; they have bent their bow a bitter thing,
4(Neboť jest lepší milosrdenství tvé, nežli život), aby tě chválili rtové moji,
5To shoot in secret the undefiled.
5A tak abych tobě dobrořečil, pokudž jsem živ, a ve jménu tvém pozdvihoval rukou svých.
6They will shoot at him on a sudden, and will not fear: they are resolute in wickedness. They have talked of hiding snares; they have said: Who shall see them?
6Jako tukem a sádlem sytila by se tu duše má, a s radostným rtů prozpěvováním chválila by tě ústa má.
7They have searched after iniquities: they have failed in their search. Man shall come to a deep heart:
7Jistě žeť na tě pamětliv jsem i na ložci svém, každého bdění nočního přemýšlím o tobě.
8And God shall be exalted. The arrows of children are their wounds:
8Nebo jsi mi býval ku pomoci, protož v stínu křídel tvých prozpěvovati budu.
9And their tongues against them are made weak. All that saw them were troubled;
9Přilnula duše má k tobě, pravice tvá zdržuje mne.
10And every man was afraid. And they declared the works of God: and understood his doings.
10Pročež ti, kteříž hledají pádu duše mé, sami vejdou do největší hlubokosti země.
11The just shall rejoice in the Lord, and shall hope in him: and all the upright in heart shall be praised.
11Zabijí každého z nich ostrostí meče, i budou liškám za podíl.
