1این است پیدایش پسران نوح، سام وحام و یافث. و از ایشان بعد از طوفان پسران متولد شدند.
1Now these are the generations of the sons of Noah: Shem, Ham, and Japheth; and unto them were sons born after the flood.
2پسران یافث: جومر و ماجوج و مادای ویاوان و توبال و ماشک و تیراس.
2The sons of Japheth: Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Tubal, and Meshech, and Tiras.
3و پسران جومر: اشکناز و ریفات و توجرمه.
3And the sons of Gomer: Ashkenaz, and Riphath, and Togarmah.
4و پسران یاوان: الیشه و ترشیش و کتیم و رودانیم.
4And the sons of Javan: Elishah, and Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim.
5از اینان جزایرامت‌ها منشعب شدند در اراضی خود، هر یکی موافق زبان و قبیله‌اش در امت های خویش.
5Of these were the isles of the nations divided in their lands, every one after his tongue, after their families, in their nations.
6و پسران حام: کوش و مصرایم و فوط وکنعان.
6And the sons of Ham: Cush, and Mizraim, and Put, and Canaan.
7و پسران کوش: سبا و حویله و سبته ورعمه و سبتکا. و پسران رعمه: شبا و ددان.
7And the sons of Cush: Seba, and Havilah, and Sabtah, and Raamah, and Sabteca; and the sons of Raamah: Sheba, and Dedan.
8وکوش نمرود را آورد. او به جبار شدن در جهان شروع کرد.
8And Cush begot Nimrod; he began to be a mighty one in the earth.
9وی در حضور خداوند صیادی جبار بود. از این جهت می‌گویند: «مثل نمرود، صیاد جبار در حضور خداوند.»
9He was a mighty hunter before the LORD; wherefore it is said: 'Like Nimrod a mighty hunter before the LORD.'
10و ابتدای مملکت وی، بابل بود و ارک و اکد و کلنه در زمین شنعار.
10And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, and Erech, and Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.
11از آن زمین آشور بیرون رفت، و نینوا ورحوبوت عیر، و کالح را بنا نهاد،
11Out of that land went forth Asshur, and builded Nineveh, and Rehoboth-ir, and Calah,
12و ریسن را درمیان نینوا و کالح. و آن شهری بزرگ بود.
12and Resen between Nineveh and Calah — the same is the great city.
13ومصرایم لودیم و عنامیم و لهابیم و نفتوحیم راآورد.
13And Mizraim begot Ludim, and Anamim, and Lehabim, and Naphtuhim,
14و فتروسیم و کسلوحیم را که از ایشان فلسطینیان پدید آمدند و کفتوریم را.
14and Pathrusim, and Casluhim — whence went forth the Philistines — and Caphtorim.
15و کنعان، صیدون، نخست زاده خود، وحت را آورد.
15And Canaan begot Zidon his firstborn, and Heth;
16ویبوسیان و اموریان و جرجاشیان را
16and the Jebusite, and the Amorite, and the Girgashite;
17و حویان وعرقیان و سینیان را
17and the Hivite, and the Arkite, and the Sinite;
18و اروادیان و صماریان وحماتیان را. و بعد از آن، قبایل کنعانیان منشعب شدند.
18and the Arvadite, and the Zemarite, and the Hamathite; and afterward were the families of the Canaanite spread abroad.
19و سرحد کنعانیان از صیدون به سمت جرار تا غزه بود، و به سمت سدوم و عموره وادمه و صبوئیم تا به لاشع.
19And the border of the Canaanite was from Zidon, as thou goest toward Gerar, unto Gaza; as thou goest toward Sodom and Gomorrah and Admah and Zeboiim, unto Lasha.
20اینانند پسران حام برحسب قبایل و زبانهای ایشان، در اراضی وامت های خود.
20These are the sons of Ham, after their families, after their tongues, in their lands, in their nations.
21و از سام که پدر جمیع بنی عابر و برادریافث بزرگ بود، از او نیز اولاد متولد شد.
21And unto Shem, the father of all the children of Eber, the elder brother of Japheth, to him also were children born.
22پسران سام: عیلام و آشور و ارفکشاد و لود وارام.
22The sons of Shem: Elam, and Asshur, and Arpachshad, and Lud, and Aram.
23و پسران ارام: عوص و حول و جاتر وماش.
23And the sons of Aram: Uz, and Hul, and Gether, and Mash.
24و ارفکشاد، شالح را آورد، و شالح، عابررا آورد.
24And Arpachshad begot Shelah; and Shelah begot Eber.
25و عابر را دو پسر متولد شد. یکی رافالج نام بود، زیرا که در ایام وی زمین منقسم شد. و نام برادرش یقطان.
25And unto Eber were born two sons; the name of the one was Peleg; for in his days was the earth divided; and his brother's name was Joktan.
26و یقطان، الموداد و شالف و حضرموت و یارح را آورد،
26And Joktan begot Almodad, and Sheleph, and Hazarmaveth, and Jerah;
27و هدورام واوزال و دقله را،
27and Hadoram, and Uzal, and Diklah;
28و عوبال و ابیمائیل و شبا را،
28and Obal, and Abimael, and Sheba;
29و اوفیر و حویله و یوباب را. این همه پسران یقطان بودند.
29and Ophir, and Havilah, and Jobab; all these were the sons of Joktan.
30و مسکن ایشان از میشا بود به سمت سفاره، که کوهی از کوههای شرقی است.
30And their dwelling was from Mesha, as thou goest toward Sephar, unto the mountain of the east.
31اینانند پسران سام برحسب قبایل و زبانهای ایشان، در اراضی خود برحسب امت های خویش.
31These are the sons of Shem, after their families, after their tongues, in their lands, after their nations.
32اینانند قبایل پسران نوح، برحسب پیدایش ایشان در امت های خود که از ایشان امت های جهان، بعد از طوفان منشعب شدند.
32These are the families of the sons of Noah, after their generations, in their nations; and of these were the nations divided in the earth after the flood.
