1ユダの子らの部族のために、その氏族に従ってくじで割り当てられた地は、エドムの境界に至り、さらに南の果てにあるツィンの荒野の南端にまで及んだ。
1And the lot for the tribe of the children of Judah according to their families was unto the border of Edom, even to the wilderness of Zin southward, at the uttermost part of the south.
2彼らの南の境界は塩の海の端、南に向いている入り江から始まり、
2And their south border was from the uttermost part of the Salt Sea, from the bay that looked southward.
3アクラビムの坂の南へ出てツィンを通り、カデシュ・バルネアの南へ上り、ヘツロンを過ぎてアダルへ上り、カルカへと曲がり、
3And it went out southward of the ascent of Akrabbim, and passed along to Zin, and went up by the south of Kadesh-barnea, and passed along by Hezron, and went up to Addar, and turned about to Karka.
4さらにアツモンを過ぎてエジプトの川へと出て、その境界の終わりは海であった。これがあなたがたの南の境界となる。
4And it passed along to Azmon, and went out at the Brook of Egypt; and the goings out of the border were at the sea; this shall be your south border.
5東の境界は塩の海であり、ヨルダン川の河口までであった。北側の境界は、ヨルダン川の河口にある海の入り江から始まり、
5And the east border was the Salt Sea, even unto the end of the Jordan. And the border of the north side was from the bay of the sea at the end of the Jordan.
6境界はベテ・ホグラに上り、ベテ・アラバの北を通り、ルベンの子ボハンの石に上り、
6And the border went up to Beth-hoglah, and passed along by the north of Beth-arabah; and the border went up to the Stone of Bohan the son of Reuben.
7アコルの谷からデビルに上り、川の南側にあるアドミムの坂の向かいのギルガルに向かって北へ進み、エン・シェメシュの水を通ってエン・ロゲルで終わる。
7And the border went up to Debir from the valley of Achor, and so northward, looking toward Gilgal, that is over against the ascent of Adummim, which is on the south side of the brook; and the border passed along to the waters of En-shemesh, and the goings out thereof were at En-rogel.
8境界はベン・ヒノムの谷を上って、エブス人の町の南側、すなわちエルサレムに至り、さらに境界は西側のヒノムの谷の前にある山の頂に上る。そこはレファイムの谷の北の果てである。
8And the border went up by the Valley of the son of Hinnom unto the side of the Jebusite southward — the same is Jerusalem — and the border went up to the top of the mountain that lieth before the Valley of Hinnom westward, which is at the uttermost part of the vale of Rephaim northward.
9境界は山の頂からネフトアの水の泉に引かれ、エフロン山の町々へ出る。さらに境界はバアラ、すなわちキルヤテ・ヤアリムへと引かれ、
9And the border was drawn from the top of the mountain unto the fountain of the waters of Nephtoah, and went out to the cities of mount Ephron; and the border was drawn to Baalah — the same is Kiriath-jearim.
10境界はバアラから西へ曲がってセイル山に向かい、北側にあるヤアリム山、すなわちケサロンの側面に沿って進み、ベテ・シェメシュに下り、ティムナを過ぎる。
10And the border turned about from Baalah westward unto mount Seir, and passed along unto the side of mount Jearim on the north — the same is Chesalon — and went down to Beth-shemesh, and passed along by Timnah.
11境界はエクロンの側面の北側へ出て、シケロンに引かれ、バアラ山を過ぎてヤブネエルに出る。その境界の終わりは海であった。
11And the border went out unto the side of Ekron northward; and the border was drawn to Shikkeron, and passed along to mount Baalah, and went out at Jabneel; and the goings out of the border were at the sea.
12西の境界は大海とその海岸であった。これが氏族ごとのユダの子らの周囲の境界である。
12And as for the west border, the Great Sea was the border thereof. This is the border of the children of Judah round about according to their families.
13ヨシュアは、主の命令に従い、エフネの子カレブにユダの人々の中で相続地を与えた。すなわち、アナクの父アルバにちなんで名づけられたキルヤテ・アルバ、つまりヘブロンである。
13And unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh he gave a portion among the children of Judah, according to the commandment of the LORD to Joshua, even Kiriath-arba, which Arba was the father of Anak — the same is Hebron.
14カレブはそこから、アナクの三人の子、すなわちアナクの子孫であるシェシャイ、アヒマン、タルマイを追い払った。
14And Caleb drove out thence the three sons of Anak, Sheshai, and Ahiman, and Talmai, the children of Anak.
15彼はそこからデビルの住民を攻めるために上って行った。デビルの以前の名はキルヤテ・セフェルであった。
15And he went up thence against the inhabitants of Debir — now the name of Debir beforetime was Kiriath-sepher.
16カレブは言った。「キルヤテ・セフェルを打ってそれを占領する者には、私の娘アクサを妻として与えよう。」
16And Caleb said: 'He that smiteth Kiriath-sepher, and taketh it, to him will I give Achsah my daughter to wife.'
17カレブの兄弟であるケナズの子オトニエルがそれを占領したので、彼は娘アクサを彼に妻として与えた。
17And Othniel the son of Kenaz, the brother of Caleb, took it; and he gave him Achsah his daughter to wife.
18彼女が嫁ぐとき、夫に、自分の父に畑を求めるよう促した。彼女がろばから降りると、カレブは「何が欲しいのか」と尋ねた。
18And it came to pass, when she came unto him, that she persuaded him to ask of her father a field; and she alighted from off her ass; and Caleb said unto her: 'What wouldest thou?'
19彼女は言った。「私に祝福を与えてください。あなたは私をネゲブの地に置かれたのですから、水の泉も私に与えてください。」 そこで彼は上の泉と下の泉を彼女に与えた。
19And she said: 'Give me a blessing; for that thou hast set me in the Southland, give me therefore springs of water.' And he gave her the Upper Springs and the Nether Springs.
20これがその氏族に従ったユダの子らの部族の相続地である。
20This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Judah according to their families.
21エドムの境界に向かうネゲブにある、ユダの子らの部族の最果ての町々は、カブツェエル、エデル、ヤグル、
21And the cities at the uttermost part of the tribe of the children of Judah toward the border of Edom in the South were Kabzeel, and Eder, and Jagur;
22キナ、ディモナ、アダダ、
22and Kinah, and Dimonah, and Adadah;
23ケデシュ、ハツォル、イトナン、
23and Kedesh, and Hazor, and Ithnan;
24ジフ、テレム、ベアロト、
24Ziph, and Telem, and Bealoth;
25ハツォル・ハダタ、ケリオト・ヘツロン、すなわちハツォル、
25and Hazor, and Hadattah, and Kerioth, and Hezron — the same is Hazor;
26アマム、シェマ、モラダ、
26Amam, and Shema, and Moladah;
27ハツァル・ガダ、ヘシュモン、ベテ・ペレト、
27and Hazar-gaddah, and Heshmon, and Beth-pelet;
28ハツァル・シュアル、ベエル・シェバ、ビズヨテヤ、
28and Hazar-shual, and Beer-sheba, and Biziothiah;

36and Shaaraim, and Adithaim, and Gederah, with Gederothaim; fourteen cities with their villages.

42Libnah, and Ether, and Ashan;

43and Iphtah, and Ashnah, and Nezib;

44and Keilah, and Achzib, and Mareshah; nine cities with their villages.

45Ekron, with its towns and its villages;

46from Ekron even unto the sea, all that were by the side of Ashdod, with their villages.

47Ashdod, its towns and its villages; Gaza, its towns and its villages; unto the Brook of Egypt, the Great Sea being the border thereof.

48And in the hill-country: Shamir, and Jattir, and Socoh;
49ダナ、キルヤテ・サナ、すなわちデビル、
49and Dannah, and Kiriath-sannah — the same is Debir;

50and Anab, and Eshtemoh, and Anim;
51ゴシェン、ホロン、ギロ。十一の町と、その村々。
51and Goshen, and Holon, and Giloh; eleven cities with their villages.
52アラブ、ドゥマ、エシャン、
52Arab, and Rumah, and Eshan;

53and Janum, and Beth-tappuah, and Aphekah;

54and Humtah, and Kiriath-arba — the same is Hebron, and Zior; nine cities with their villages.

55Maon, Carmel, and Ziph, and Juttah;
56イズレエル、ヨクデアム、ザノア、
56and Jezreel, and Jokdeam, and Zanoah;
57カイン、ギベア、ティムナ。十の町と、その村々。
57Kain, Gibeah, and Timnah; ten cities with their villages.
58ハルフル、ベテ・ツル、ゲドル、
58Halhul, Beth-zur, and Gedor;
59マアラト、ベテ・アノト、エルテコン。六つの町と、その村々。
59and Maarath, and Beth-anoth, and Eltekon; six cities with their villages.
60キルヤテ・バアル、すなわちキルヤテ・ヤアリム、およびラバ。二つの町と、その村々。
60Kiriath-baal — the same is Kiriath-jearim, and Rabbah; two cities with their villages.
61荒野には、ベテ・アラバ、ミディン、セカカ、
61In the wilderness: Beth-arabah, Middin, and Secacah;
62ニブシャン、塩の町、エン・ゲディ。六つの町と、その村々。
62and Nibshan, and the City of Salt, and En-gedi; six cities with their villages.
63エルサレムの住民であるエブス人について、ユダの子らは彼らを追い払うことができなかった。それでエブス人は今日に至るまで、エルサレムでユダの子らとともに住んでいる。
63And as for the Jebusites, the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the children of Judah could not drive them out; but the Jebusites dwelt with the children of Judah at Jerusalem, unto this day.
