1その時、レビ人の父祖の家のかしらたちは、祭司エルアザル、ヌンの子ヨシュア、およびイスラエルの人々の部族の父祖の家のかしらたちのところに近づき、
1Then came near the heads of fathers' houses of the Levites unto Eleazar the priest, and unto Joshua the son of Nun, and unto the heads of fathers' houses of the tribes of the children of Israel;
2彼らはカナンの地のシロで言った。「主はモーセを通して、私たちに住む町々と、家畜のための放牧地を与えるよう命じられました。」
2and they spoke unto them at Shiloh in the land of Canaan, saying: 'The LORD commanded by the hand of Moses to give us cities to dwell in, with the open land thereabout for our cattle.'
3そこでイスラエルの人々は、主の命令に従い、自分たちの相続地の中から、これらの町とその放牧地をレビ人に与えた。
3And the children of Israel gave unto the Levites out of their inheritance, according to the commandment of the LORD, these cities with the open land about them.
4くじはケハテ人の氏族のために出た。レビ人のうち祭司アロンの子らには、ユダの部族、シメオン人の部族、ベニヤミンの部族の中から、くじによって十三の町が与えられた。
4And the lot came out for the families of the Kohathites; and the children of Aaron the priest, who were of the Levites, had by lot out of the tribe of Judah, and out of the tribe of the Simeonites, and out of the tribe of Benjamin, thirteen cities.
5ケハテの残りの子らには、エフライムの部族の氏族、ダンの部族、マナセの半部族の中から、くじによって十の町が与えられた。
5And the rest of the children of Kohath had by lot out of the families of the tribe of Ephraim, and out of the tribe of Dan, and out of the half-tribe of Manasseh, ten cities.
6ゲルションの子らには、イッサカルの部族の氏族、アシェルの部族、ナフタリの部族、バシャンにあるマナセの半部族の中から、くじによって十三の町が与えられた。
6And the children of Gershon had by lot out of the families of the tribe of Issachar, and out of the tribe of Asher, and out of the tribe of Naphtali, and out of the half-tribe of Manasseh in Bashan, thirteen cities.
7メラリの子らには、その氏族に従って、ルベンの部族、ガドの部族、ゼブルンの部族の中から十二の町が与えられた。
7The children of Merari according to their families had out of the tribe of Reuben, and out of the tribe of Gad, and out of the tribe of Zebulun, twelve cities.
8イスラエルの人々は、モーセを通して主が命じられたように、これらの町とその放牧地をくじによってレビ人に与えた。
8And the children of Israel gave by lot unto the Levites these cities with the open land about them, as the LORD commanded by the hand of Moses.
9彼らはユダの子らの部族とシメオンの子らの部族の中から、名を挙げて記されるこれらの町を与えた。
9And they gave out of the tribe of the children of Judah, and out of the tribe of the children of Simeon, these cities which are here mentioned by name.
10それらはレビの子らのうちケハテ人の氏族に属するアロンの子らのものとなった。最初のくじは彼らのものだったからである。
10And they were for the children of Aaron, of the families of the Kohathites, who were of the children of Levi; for theirs was the first lot.
11彼らはユダの山地にある、アナクの父アルバにちなんで名付けられたキルヤテ・アルバ、すなわちヘブロンと、その周囲の放牧地を彼らに与えた。
11And they gave them Kiriath-arba, which Arba was the father of Anak — the same is Hebron — in the hill-country of Judah, with the open land round about it.
12しかし、その町の畑とその村々は、エフネの子カレブに彼の相続地として与えられた。
12But the fields of the city, and the villages thereof, gave they to Caleb the son of Jephunneh for his possession.

13And unto the children of Aaron the priest they gave Hebron with the open land about it, the city of refuge for the manslayer, and Libnah with the open land about it;

14and Jattir with the open land about it, and Eshtemoa with the open land about it;
15ホロンとその放牧地、デビルとその放牧地、
15and Holon with the open land about it, and Debir with the open land about it;
16アインとその放牧地、ユタとその放牧地、ベテ・シェメシュとその放牧地を与えた。これら二つの部族から九つの町である。
16and Ain with the open land about it, and Juttah with the open land about it, and Beth-shemesh with the open land about it; nine cities out of those two tribes.
17ベニヤミンの部族からは、ギベオンとその放牧地、ゲバとその放牧地、
17And out of the tribe of Benjamin, Gibeon with the open land about it, Geba with the open land about it;
18アナトテとその放牧地、アルモンとその放牧地。四つの町である。
18Anathoth with the open land about it, and Almon with the open land about it; four cities.
19祭司であるアロンの子らの町は、すべてで十三の町とその放牧地であった。
19All the cities of the children of Aaron, the priests, were thirteen cities with the open land about them.
20レビ人であるケハテの子らの諸氏族、すなわち残りのケハテの子らは、くじによってエフライムの部族から町々を得た。
20And the families of the children of Kohath, the Levites, even the rest of the children of Kohath, they had the cities of their lot out of the tribe of Ephraim.
21彼らはエフライムの山地にある、人を殺した者のための逃れの町であるシェケムとその放牧地を彼らに与え、またゲゼルとその放牧地、
21And they gave them Shechem with the open land about it in the hill-country of Ephraim, the city of refuge for the manslayer, and Gezer with the open land about it;
22キブツァイムとその放牧地、ベテ・ホロンとその放牧地。四つの町である。
22and Kibzaim with the open land about it, and Beth-horon with the open land about it; four cities.
23ダンの部族からは、エルテケとその放牧地、ギベトンとその放牧地、
23And out of the tribe of Dan, Elteke with the open land about it, Gibbethon with the open land about it;
24アヤロンとその放牧地、ガテ・リモンとその放牧地。四つの町である。
24Aijalon with the open land about it, Gath-rimmon with the open land about it; four cities.
25マナセの半部族からは、タアナクとその放牧地、ガテ・リモンとその放牧地。二つの町である。
25And out of the half-tribe of Manasseh, Taanach with the open land about it, and Gath-rimmon with the open land about it; two cities.
26残りのケハテの子らの諸氏族の町は、すべてで十の町とその放牧地であった。
26All the cities of the families of the rest of the children of Kohath were ten with the open land about them.
27彼らはレビ人の諸氏族のうちゲルションの子らに、マナセの半部族から、人を殺した者のための逃れの町であるバシャンのゴランとその放牧地を与え、またベエシュテラとその放牧地を与えた。二つの町である。
27And unto the children of Gershon, of the families of the Levites, out of the half-tribe of Manasseh they gave Golan in Bashan with the open land about it, the city of refuge for the manslayer; and Beeshterah with the open land about it; two cities.
28イッサカルの部族からは、キシュヨンとその放牧地、ダベラテとその放牧地、
28And out of the tribe of Issachar, Kishion with the open land about it, Dobrath with the open land about it;
29ヤルムテとその放牧地、エン・ガニムとその放牧地。四つの町である。
29Jarmuth with the open land about it, En-gannim with the open land about it; four cities.
30アシェルの部族からは、ミシャルとその放牧地、アブドンとその放牧地、
30And out of the tribe of Asher, Mishal with the open land about it, Abdon with the open land about it;
31ヘルカテとその放牧地、レホブとその放牧地。四つの町である。
31Helkath with the open land about it, and Rehob with the open land about it; four cities.
32ナフタリの部族からは、人を殺した者のための逃れの町であるガリラヤのケデシュとその放牧地、ハモテ・ドルとその放牧地、カルタンとその放牧地。三つの町である。
32And out of the tribe of Naphtali, Kedesh in Galilee with the open land about it, the city of refuge for the manslayer, and Hammoth-dor with the open land about it, and Kartan with the open land about it; three cities.
33ゲルション人のすべての町は、その氏族に従って十三の町とその放牧地であった。
33All the cities of the Gershonites according to their families were thirteen cities with the open land about them.
34レビ人の残りであるメラリの子らの氏族には、ゼブルンの部族から、ヨクネアムとその放牧地、カルタとその放牧地、
34And unto the families of the children of Merari, the rest of the Levites, out of the tribe of Zebulun, Jokneam with the open land about it, and Kartah with the open land about it;
35ディムナとその放牧地、ナハラルとその放牧地。四つの町である。
35Dimnah with the open land about it, Nahalal with the open land about it; four cities.
36ルベンの部族からは、ベツェルとその放牧地、ヤハツとその放牧地、
36And out of the tribe of Reuben, Bezer with the open land about it, and Jahaz with the open land about it;
37ケデモトとその放牧地、メファアトとその放牧地。四つの町である。
37Kedemoth with the open land about it, and Mephaath with the open land about it; four cities.
38ガドの部族からは、人を殺した者のための逃れの町であるギルアデのラモトとその放牧地、マハナイムとその放牧地、
38And out of the tribe of Gad, Ramoth in Gilead with the open land about it, the city of refuge for the manslayer, and Mahanaim with the open land about it;
39ヘシュボンとその放牧地、ヤゼルとその放牧地。全部で四つの町である。
39Heshbon with the open land about it, Jazer with the open land about it; four cities in all.
40メラリの子ら、すなわちレビ人の氏族の残りの者たちの町は、その氏族に従って、くじにより十二の町であった。
40All these were the cities of the children of Merari according to their families, even the rest of the families of the Levites; and their lot was twelve cities.
41イスラエルの人々の相続地の中にあるレビ人の町は、全部で四十八の町とその放牧地であった。
41All the cities of the Levites — forty and eight cities with the open land about them — shall be in the midst of the possession of the children of Israel,
42これらの町には、それぞれの周囲に放牧地があった。これらすべての町がそうであった。
42even these cities, every one with the open land round about it; thus it shall be with all these cities.
43こうして主は、父祖たちに与えると誓われた地をことごとくイスラエルに与えられた。彼らはそれを自分たちのものとし、そこに住んだ。
43So the LORD gave unto Israel all the land which He swore to give unto their fathers; and they possessed it, and dwelt therein.
44主は、父祖たちに誓われたとおり、彼らの周囲に安息を与えられた。敵のうち、彼らの前に立ちはだかる者は一人もいなかった。主はすべての敵を彼らの手に渡された。
44And the LORD gave them rest round about, according to all that He swore unto their fathers; and there stood not a man of all their enemies against them; the LORD delivered all their enemies into their hand.
45主がイスラエルの家に語られた良い約束は、一つとして果たされないものがなく、すべて実現した。
45There failed not aught of any good thing which the LORD had spoken unto the house of Israel; all came to pass.
